Jordan Sends 35 Additional Aid Trucks to Gaza Today - Jordan News

Jordan News2 days ago
Jordan Sends 35 Additional Aid Trucks to Gaza Today The Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, Hussein Shibli, said on Monday that the organization is currently preparing between 30 and 35 humanitarian aid trucks, set to head to the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, carrying food supplies. اضافة اعلان Shibli explained that the current situation in Gaza is drastically different from the past, pointing to the unprecedented closure imposed by the Israeli occupation since October 7, 2023, along with systematic starvation and thirst inflicted on the population. He added that there is a clear and deliberate effort to starve and dehydrate the residents of the Gaza Strip, which has led to a state of despair and slow collective death due to hunger. He emphasized that the primary concern now is ensuring aid reaches those in need. Shibli described the situation in Gaza as 'extremely dire,' affirming that Jordan is exerting efforts on all levels—both diplomatic and humanitarian—through direct relief programs or in coordination with organizations inside the borders. The Secretary-General stressed that the current method of delivering aid is disorganized and called for opening the borders and allowing the entry of sufficient aid quantities. He warned that the ongoing chaos in distribution leads to people fighting over a loaf of bread or a single meal. He affirmed that it is impossible to achieve true aid relief unless there is a qualified and capable entity to distribute the assistance in an organized manner that preserves the dignity of Gaza's residents and ensures effective and safe delivery to those in need.

US envoy says withdrawing from Gaza talks over 'selfish' Hamas position

US envoy Steve Witkoff announced Thursday the recall of his team from Doha for consultations, citing Hamas's response to ceasefire proposals as evidence of the group's alleged unwillingness to reach an agreement on Gaza. 'We've decided to bring our team back from Doha for consultations following Hamas's response, which clearly shows a lack of desire to reach a deal,' Witkoff said. He criticized the Palestinian group for being 'disorganized' and not acting in good faith, despite extensive mediation efforts. 'It's unfortunate that Hamas is behaving so selfishly. They seem uncoordinated and unwilling to demonstrate good intentions, even with the tremendous efforts made by the mediators,' Witkoff stated. He added that the US would now study alternative options to secure the return of Israeli captives and work toward establishing a more stable environment for Gaza's residents.

Netanyahu warns Hamas not to mistake truce efforts for "weakness"

"Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that the Palestinian group Hamas should not view his country's willingness to reach a truce deal in Gaza as a "weakness". "We are working to reach another deal for the release of our hostages. But if Hamas interprets our willingness to reach a deal as weakness, as an opportunity to dictate surrender terms that would endanger the State of Israel, it is gravely mistaken," he said in a speech.

Egypt denies closing Rafah crossing, blames 'Israel' for blocking aid

Egypt's Foreign Ministry firmly denied claims that it closed the Rafah border crossing with Gaza, stressing that the crossing has never been shut from the Egyptian side. It asserted that the Palestinian side of the crossing is under 'Israeli' control, which is preventing the passage of aid and people. In a strongly worded statement, the ministry condemned what it described as 'malicious propaganda' aimed at distorting Egypt's consistent support for the Palestinian cause, calling the recent accusations of complicity in the blockade 'unjustified.' 'These baseless accusations lack logic and contradict Egypt's position and interests,' the ministry said, adding that critics ignore Egypt's efforts since the start of the Israeli assault on Gaza, including attempts to reach a ceasefire and sustained relief operations through Rafah. The statement also highlighted Egypt's leadership in launching and promoting an Arab-endorsed reconstruction plan for Gaza, supported by several international partners, focusing on humanitarian aid, resisting forced displacement, and defending Palestinian land and rights.
