Savvy hack scores skincare shoppers Rodial anti-ageing buys for a fraction of their price

Daily Mirror2 days ago
Don't fancy paying nearly £100 for your favourite Rodial buy? Here's how to get luxe skincare for up to 87% less
If you've ever looked at a Rodial jar of, say, their Bee Venom Night Cream or Pink Diamond Luminising Mask, and winced at the £100+ price tag, you're not alone. The brand's cult favourites aren't exactly cheap, but here's a beauty insider secret: Rodial's own outlet section regularly offers full-size skincare (including anti-ageing hero formulas) marked down by up to 87%, simply because the box is damaged or unboxed. That clever trick could shave hundreds of pounds from the usual price, meaning you're giving your skin a luxury experience for a lot less.
Every so often Rodial highlights items in its outlet collection– everything from serums, masks and boosters to the signature Bee Venom and Pink Diamond ranges. Some come in boxes that have been dented, torn or even missing packaging entirely, but the products inside remain brand new. That means you're effectively getting premium ingredients like venom peptides, bee venom extract and hyaluronic acid for £20–£50, instead of the usual £100–£200 retail price.
So what should you shop?
An anti-ageing ingredient that's long been rumoured to be a favourite of Princess Kate is bee venom, and you'll find plenty of it in Rodial's Bee Venom Moisturiser. Usually priced at £150 for a 50ml tub, you can shop it out of the box for £90, which is a saving of 40%.
Over on John Lewis, where the same cream retails for £135, one shopper raves about their results, saying: 'This does actually work! After only a few week's use, day and night, my skin is looking smoother, brighter and tighter. Open pores are diminished and lines slightly reduced. I think after a couple of months' use, results will be even better!'
One of Rodial's most sought-after products is the Bee Venom and Placenta 24 Carat Gold Ultimate Crème, but usually a tub would set you back a whopping £750. This week, you can nab it for £95 with a box and all, giving you an 87% saving. While we can't confirm this is the exact one Kate uses, it's definitely luxe enough to grace her face.
Away from the bee venom range, the long-adored Pink Diamond range also features in the outlet sale, with a 50ml Rose Gold Moisturiser reduced from £200 to £110 for a limited time. The luxurious youth-boosting cream is enriched in 24 carat gold technology, white rose fresh cells and vitamin C for visibly nourished skin.
While we definitely recommend making the most of the savings, we appreciate that the pricing might still be a little steep for some. If that's the case, LookFantastic has just dropped a box brimming with some of the most coveted, highly-rated must-haves in the beauty realm.
Packed with skincare, makeup, bodycare and haircare champions, this selection is an ideal way to elevate any summer beauty regimen. The Beauty Icons Edit is up for grabs at £65. And by our calculations, it's packed with over £245 worth of products - that's a saving of £180

Lisa Snowdon loves this hair serum that's 'must have for hair loss' now 20% off

With 50% of women experiencing hair loss due to a variety of factors, Lookfantastic has launched a 20% off deal on some of hair rejuvenating brand Nioxin's bestselling products, including its Anti-Hair Loss Serum Stress, hormonal changes, postpartum recovery, diet or simply wearing tight hair styles can all lead to us experiencing some sort of hair loss and thinning, regardless of age. While its something 50% of women will experience this in their life, a relatively normal amount to shed is between 50 to 100 hairs per day. But for those for whom hair loss is a little more than this, showcased in more hair in hairbrush, parting become wider and more bald spots, this byproduct can often leave a person lacking in confidence. One brand that has received a lot of love for its anti-hair loss products, including model and Celebrity Masterchef star Lisa Snowdon - who's been open about her own hair loss journey - is NIOXIN. It's currently running a promotion to mark Hair Loss Awareness month that sees 20% knocked off the price of some of its best-sellers on Lookfantastic. One product included in this deal is the 4.7 star rated Anti-Hair Loss Serum Hair Growth Serum for Thinning Hair, which usually retails at £57.50 but is now £46. The NIOXIN Anti-Hair Loss Serum Hair Growth Serum for Thinning Hair is a leave-in serum that has been designed to minimise the risk of breakage and hair fall out. Lookfantastic shares that beauty fans who have used this product have experienced 'crazy' results in as little as eight weeks, with 93% of participants in a clinical study experiencing improved hair anchorage. The serum - which is recommended to be used alongside the brand's shampoo and conditioner - is enriched with hair follicle stimulating caffeine, lauric acid and niacinamide. As well as SANDALORE™, which helps improve hair anchorage, the formula works to nourish and protect the scalp in order to promote optimal conditions for healthy-looking hair growth. Claiming to delivering stronger, thicker hair from the first use, the serum requires 15 pumps to the scalp (or dry or wet hair) which are to massaged in - and not washed out. This NIOXIN product rivals the likes of brands such as UKLASH and Skin + Me, whose hair regrowth products have received rave reviews from beauty buffs and celebrities alike. UKLASH's Hair Growth Serum costs a little less at £40 for a one time purchase and uses active ingredients like AnaGain™(Pea Sprout Extract), Phytic Acid and Turmeric to 'revitalise and stimulate hair growth' at the scalp. It also uses Lemon Fruit Water to condition and protect the hair follicle. Skin + Me's The Drops for hair growth are an even more affordable option as they're currently on sale for £14.99 down from £34.99. With major results reported in three to six months with consistent use, the Skin + Me formula claims to 'reverse loss', 'stop thinning' and 'restore density' with its scientifically proven active ingredients. The NIOXIN serum - which Lisa Snowdon has said is a 'game changer' for thinning hair - has delivered 'visible' results from shoppers, with one five star review raving on the Lookfantastic website: "I've been using Nioxin Anti-Hair Loss Serum for a few weeks, and I'm pretty impressed. The serum is easy to apply just pump once on your palm and spread. It doesn't feel greasy or heavy on my scalp. "I've noticed a slight improvement in the thickness of my hair, I have little baldness on my side head and it seems to be growing back in that area where it was thinning. It doesn't have a strong smell, which I like. "While it's still early to tell if it'll completely stop hair loss, I've definitely seen some positive changes, and I feel more confident about my hair's health. Definitely worth trying it." The serum has received strong reviews, with one shopper remarking: "I have been using the Nioxin Anti-Hair Loss Serum Growth Serum for thinning hair for a few months now, and I am genuinely impressed with the results. Initially, I was sceptical about trying another product for hair thinning, but this serum has exceeded my expectations." They added: "Over time, my hair has begun to feel thicker, and I'm even noticing some regrowth in areas that were visibly thinning. I also appreciate that the serum has a pleasant, subtle scent, unlike many other treatments I've tried. "It's now a staple in my hair care routine, and I highly recommend it to anyone dealing with thinning hair or looking to improve their scalp health. Nioxin has truly delivered with this product, and I feel much more confident about my hair than I have in years!" "I've been using this for about 8 months now and the amount of hair that I shed now in comparison to before is crazy," said another. "It really does help with my excess shedding and also my hairline is looking a bit fuller in the patches that were thinning I think consistency is key with this." Someone else noted how they saw results in as little as one week and said: "The best hair grow serum for hair! I could see results after for weeks of using it. You have to be consistent with the product but it's working well. Great value. Highly recommend" While many people did see some results, some have struggled, with one person saying: "Have used it few times, not seen any difference yet, will persevere for longer, isn't making my hair any worse so will just keep going for a while yet." Someone else noted on the Nioxin serum: "Very great product! Since I began using this system my hair loss has slowed down considerably. When using the shampoo with the conditioner and the serum, it has certainly contributed to the health and thickness of my hair."

I lost 18st without fat jabs – I didn't cheat my way to a new body by secretly using Ozempic, I put the effort in

Kate Evans, 40, a full-time mum from Buckinghamshire, weighed 29st at her heaviest & is frustrated people think she resorted to fat jabs. Here's her secret... NO WEIGH I lost 18st without fat jabs – I didn't cheat my way to a new body by secretly using Ozempic, I put the effort in OPENING my 10th can of cola of the day and gorging on a Chinese takeaway, I felt utterly miserable. Weighing 29st and a size 32, I was practically housebound and struggling to care for my children. It was a conversation with my husband in early 2023 that would shock me into finally losing weight, after years of it spiralling out of control. 5 At 10st 13lb, Kate's happier and healthier after losing 18st without using weight loss injections 5 Kate with husband Dan at her heaviest weight of 29st Today, I'm more than 18st lighter, but to my frustration, there are people who don't believe I lost the weight through diet and exercise. They accuse me of secretly using fat jabs and say I cheated my way to a new body. When my husband Dan told me that day that he was scared I was going to die, I knew his fears were justified. At 38, I was pre-diabetic and could barely walk, with aching joints and breathlessness. I agreed to join a slimming club, but had no idea how I'd lose the excess weight. All my life, I've been big. At 10, I weighed 9st, the weight of an adult woman, because I had a big appetite. BIG APPETITE As a teenager, when I had more independence and money to spend, I'd buy crisps, chocolate and fizzy drinks. I did try a few times to lose weight in my 20s, but always gave up and put it back on, and more. When I met Dan online in 2013, after having my first child in a previous relationship, I was a size 24. He didn't care, though, and saw past my weight. He loved me as I was, and we got married in 2016. I treated food like an emotional crutch. No matter how I was feeling, I turned to it. I look back with horror at what I'd consume daily – litres of fizzy drink, greasy takeaways, piles of buttered toast and chocolate. By the time Dan had that emotional conversation with me, I was only leaving the house once a week to go to the supermarket, and I slept downstairs because getting up to our bedroom was too hard for me. 'No shortcuts exist' I'm an Irish teen who lost almost 60 pounds in 16 weeks following a routine that works wonders He had to take on more than his share, and I could never take the kids to the park or on a day trip. Had Dan not confided his fears in me, I'm not sure if I'd have ever given myself that push to lose weight. Stepping on to the scales at my first slimming club meeting in February 2023, I felt mortified. At 29st 4.5lb, I was by far the biggest person there. But for Dan and my children's sake, I knew I needed to try. So, using the club's plan as a starting point, I began learning about nutrition. I started having fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, a wrap with salad for lunch, and chicken with veg for dinner. I stopped having takeaways and gradually weaned myself off sugary drinks. Attending a weekly meeting and being weighed kept me accountable, and as I started to see the number on the scales go down, I felt motivated to keep going. I began to introduce walking, too. At first, even short distances left me with sore joints and out of breath, but I persevered and it became more enjoyable. 5 Kate ended up practically housebound and struggling to care for her children due to her weight 5 Kate lost the weight to be a better mum 5 Kate's husband Dan was scared she was going to die because of the excess weight Dan was so supportive and relieved I was taking care of myself. By April 2024, I'd lost 17st. I decided to keep going and now weigh 10st 13lb. I don't plan to lose any more, but still attend my weekly club meetings. It's surreal when I walk into a clothes shop and can pick out size-12 dresses. People I haven't seen in a while have walked past, not recognising me, and there was even a rumour in our area Dan was having an affair, because he was spotted with another woman. But that was me! What frustrates me is, after all the effort I've put in, I've been accused of secretly using weight-loss jabs. I've seen it happen online to celebrities, such as TV presenter Alison Hammond, who's lost 11st without jabs, too. Personally, I think it's cheating to use them to lose weight. I put the pounds on and it was up to me to lose them, not rely on pharmaceuticals. When I look back at old photos, I don't recognise that unhealthy, unhappy woman. I've saved my life and am the active, happy wife and mum I always dreamed of being. And I did it all by myself.'

Braun epilator that makes 'skin smooth in no time' is cut by 57%

Users say there's 'no more fuss with waxing or shaving' when using the device Hair removal can seem like an endless task, so it's no surprise there are a lot of products on the market that claim to help make it easier, but a lot of them come with a pretty hefty price tag. Until now, as one retailer adds discounts on devices in time for summer. Amazon has cut the price of the Braun Silk-épil 9 Flex SkinSpa Epilator down to £159.99, a massive 57% saving from its usual price of £369.99. The product features a 360-degree flexible head, along with a mini shaver, exfoliation brush, massage pad, and can be used both wet and dry. It's said to be able to cut hairs as short as 0.5mm, and that one use will achieve 'an entire month of smooth skin.' The head contains 40 tiny tweezers, and it can run for up to 50 minutes on one charge. It also has two modes - gentle and power. If you're looking for an alternative, Boots has the Panasonic ES-EY90 five-in-one full body epilator kit for £134.99 - £65 down from its usual price of £199.99. It comes with a range of attachments, including a main epilation head with 'double-disc technology ', featuring 60 tweezers, able to cut hairs as short as 0.5mm. It can be used wet or dry and also includes a bikini comb, gentle cap, sonic scrub brush, shaver head, pop-up trimmer, and foot care head. It also features a pressure centre and can run for up to 50 minutes on one charge. If the idea of epilating doesn't appeal, LOOKFANTASTIC has a Silk'n 7 Light-Based Hair Removal Device for £349.30 - down 30 per cent from its usual price of £499. This can be used for the face and body, and includes three attachments, as well as a separate razor and a charging cable. It works by using light to open the pores and remove hairs at the root. Going back to the Braun epilator, it has a 4.7 out of five rating on Amazon. "It works better if you don't press too much on your skin, just gently and not too fast and your skin will be smooth in no time," said one customer. "I absolutely love it and I'm so glad I got it for myself. No more fuss with the waxing or shaving and red spots." Another said: "I love the way the head moves to your body as it gives you a much smoother finish. "Epilators do hurt, however, if you're used to using an epilator ,I think you will find this a lot more comfortable. I also found the smart sensor helpful too." Another users branded it "game-changing". However, some thought the effectiveness did not match its price: "It's uncomfortable to use and stings the legs for the rest of the day. Doesn't last one month, as after three days I had to shave my legs again. "Comes with a bikini line shaver. I cannot justify the price for this product as £370 is extortionate for a product I can only describe as being a value of at most £100."
