RSS Chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat attends Chintan Baithak in Kerala
Around 80 prominent educationists working at the national level are participating in the Baithak in which the RSS Chief is attending as chief guest.
Discussions will include topics such as Bharatiya knowledge traditions, Bharatiya languages, modern education systems that foster self-reliance among the youth, life values, civic awareness, environment education.
The Baithak on July 25, 26 and 27 will outline a roadmap in education for a Viksit Bharat, said A. Vinod, National Co-ordinator of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas.
The Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, which has been actively working for the last 20 years in the field of education to promote and integrate Bharatiya perspectives and indigenous content, will organize the event at the Adi Shankara Nilayam, the birthplace of Adi Shankaracharya and center of Chinmaya International Foundation.
Along with the organisational achievements, the meeting will evaluate the initiatives of Nyas, like 'Jñānotsavs' and the 'Jñāna Mahakumbh,' which have been organized over the past five years to bring together various educational institutions working towards reinstating Bharatiya values in the education sector.
A separate Education Conference (Jñāna Sabha) will be held on July 27 and 28 at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, with participation from universities, central and state educational institutions, educational agencies, and private educational entrepreneurs who are contributing uniquely for the Bharatiya in education.
Vice Chancellors and Directors from around 200 institutions across Bharat will attend this gathering. The central theme of this Jñāna Sabha is 'Education for a Viksit Bharat'.
Distinguished personalities including Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (spiritual leader), Sri Sri Ravishankar(Acharya of Jeevan Kala), Dr. H. Nagendra (Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana), Shri M (spiritual leader), and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev will grace the occasion.
The conference aims to deliberate on how collective efforts in education can pave the way for a developed Bharat. It will emphasize how upcoming generations can be prepared to face global challenges by integrating life values, civic consciousness, social harmony, and simple environmentally sustainable living as core elements of education.
The follow up of Sankalpa Patras resolved at the Jñāna Maha Kumbh held in Prayagraj, and the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) especially on evaluation and research will also be discussed.
To ensure the successful conduct of the conference, a meeting of workers will be held on June 27 at BTH in Ernakulam, he said.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday asserted that the rise of Sanatan Dharma and the emergence of a Hindu nation are inevitable, echoing the words of Yogi Arvind. Speaking at the 'Gyan Sabha', a national education conference organised by the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Bhagwat said, "Yogi Arvind said that it is God's will for the Sanatan Dharma to rise and for the rise of Sanatan Dharma, the rise of the Hindu nation is inevitable. These are his words, and we see that today's world needs this vision. Therefore, we will have to first understand what Bharat is" Bhagwat said that India's identity must be preserved, asserting that if you lose your identity, no matter how good you are, the world will neither respect nor protect you. "Bharat is a proper noun. It should not be translated. 'India that is Bharat' is true. But Bharat is Bharat, and that is why, while writing and speaking, we should keep Bharat as Bharat... Bharat must remain Bharat. The identity of Bharat is respected because it is Bharat. If you lose your identity, whatever other meritorious qualities you may have, you will never be respected or secure in this world. That is the thumb rule,' Bhagwat said. Bhagwat also called for India to move beyond the symbolism of being the 'golden bird' and instead become a 'lion', asserting that the world recognises and respects power. 'The world understands power. Therefore, Bharat must become strong. It must also grow rich in economic terms,' Bhagwat said, stressing that strength and prosperity are essential for India to find its rightful place in the global order. Touching on the theme of national identity, Bhagwat made a strong case for preserving the name 'Bharat' without translation. 'Bharat is a proper noun. It should not be translated. 'India is Bharat' — that's true. But Bharat is Bharat. In every context — whether personal or public, while speaking or writing — we should say Bharat,' he emphasised. The RSS chief also spoke at length about the purpose and values of education, stating that true education empowers an individual to live independently while inculcating a spirit of sacrifice and selflessness. 'Education that teaches selfishness is not real education,' he declared. He further said that education is not confined to schools alone but extends to the home and society. 'The environment in which children grow up plays a crucial role. Society must reflect on what kind of atmosphere is needed to raise a confident and responsible generation,' Bhagwat said. The conference was attended by Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, along with several senior academicians and vice-chancellors from across India. President of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Dr Pankaj Mittal, Secretary Dr Atul Kothari, Coordinator A Vinod, Chairman of Cochin Shipyard Madhu Nair were also present. India has to become strong and also wealthy from an economic point of view as the world understands power, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Sunday. Bhagwat also said that India no longer has to be the 'golden bird' and it was time for it to become a 'lion'. 'It is necessary because the world understands power. So Bharat should become strong. It also has to become wealthy from an economic perspectives,' he added, while speaking at the national education conference, 'Gyan Sabha', organised by the RSS-linked Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas in Kochi. The RSS chief went on to say that 'Bharat' should not be translated as otherwise it would lose its identity and along with it the respect it enjoys in the world. According to a PTI report, Mohan Bhagwat also said that Bharat, a proper noun, should not be translated as its identity is respected 'because it is Bharat'. "Bharat is a proper noun. It should not be translated. 'India is Bharat'. That is true. But Bharat is Bharat. That is why, while talking, writing and speaking, be it personal or public, we should keep Bharat as Bharat. 'Bharat must remain Bharat. The identity of Bharat is respected because it is Bharat. Just a day ago, Bhagwat had said that the education system in the country was developed under the long-term influence of colonial ideas and for a developed nation, an alternative based on Indian philosophy needs to be formulated. For that, the focus should be 'deep, realistic, and completely Indian-based,' Bhagwat said. According to the statement issued by the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Bhagwat said during the conference that the workers should become competent in the field they work, be role models in it and develop friendly relations in order to lead others forward. Before the meeting began, RSS chief Bhagwat visited the birthplace of Adi Shankaracharya and lit a traditional lamp (Nilavilakku) to mark the start of the conference, held at the Chitvilasam auditorium. Around 100 delegates from across India, including national coordinators of the Nyas and experts in education, are taking part in the discussions. The focus of the two-day meeting is on building a roadmap for educational reforms to support the vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat).
