White House releases roadmap to make US the ‘crypto capital of the world'
The White House unveiled sweeping recommendations from the President's Working Group on Digital Asset Markets, outlining an ambitious strategy to solidify the United States' leadership in blockchain and digital financial report stems from Executive Order 14178, signed by President Trump earlier this year, which directed federal agencies to align policy, regulation, and innovation with his pledge to make America the 'crypto capital of the world.'advertisement'By implementing these recommendations, policymakers can ensure that the United States leads the blockchain revolution and ushers in the Golden Age of Crypto,' the Working Group said in its report. The group — composed of officials across federal regulatory agencies — recommends a mix of legislative and executive actions, including clarity on regulatory oversight, expanded crypto banking access, a robust framework for stablecoins, and modernized tax and anti-money laundering RECOMMENDATIONS:1. Regulatory Clarity and InnovationThe Working Group calls on Congress to act on bipartisan momentum behind the CLARITY Act by granting the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) the authority to oversee non-security digital asset spot markets. It also urges regulators to embrace DeFi and allow new financial products through tools like safe harbors and regulatory sandboxes.'A fit-for-purpose market structure framework is essential to support growth and innovation,' the report states.2. Crypto-Friendly Banking ReformsAfter ending "Operation Choke Point 2.0," the Trump administration now wants clear banking rules for custody, stablecoin issuance, and blockchain use. The group stresses aligning capital requirements with real risks, not just the 'fact of their presence on a distributed ledger.'3. The GENIUS Act and StablecoinsWith the recent signing of the GENIUS Act, America has enacted its first federal stablecoin framework. The group calls for swift implementation and proposes the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act, which would codify Trump's executive order banning Central Bank Digital Currencies.'The widespread adoption of dollar-backed stablecoins will modernize payments infrastructure,' the report adds.4. Combating Illicit Finance Without OverreachThe group seeks modern AML rules that protect national security without infringing on self-custody rights or targeting law-abiding citizens.5. Digital Asset Tax ReformsThe IRS and Treasury are advised to reduce red tape, clarify rules around mining, staking, and de minimis receipts, and adjust tax codes to treat digital assets as a distinct asset class — subject to modified securities and commodity rules.- EndsMust Watch

'I'm proud to say no Hindu can ever be a terrorist': Amit Shah in Rajya Sabha
NEW DELHI: "I am proud to say, no Hindu can ever be a terrorist," Union home minister Amit Shah declared in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday, hitting out at Congress for manufacturing the thesis of "saffron terror" to malign majority community as part of its politics of appeasement. "They tried to give terrorism a religious colour for the sake of votes - but people of India rejected that falsehood," he said. Shah recalled the effort in some quarters to blame Hindutva outfits for the 26/11 terror attacks that Lashkar-e-Taiba carried out in Mumbai, and said Congress neta Digvijaya Singh was among those who fanned it. tnn 'Afzal Guru couldn't be hanged as long as PC was home mantri' Home minister Amit Shah recalled the effort in some quarters to blame Hindutva outfits for the 26/11 terror attacks that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) carried out. "All this was done for political gain. Innocent people were jailed, tortured and defamed - not in pursuit of justice but to build a story that served electoral purposes," Shah said, without naming names. Significantly, his attack came on the eve of a court judgment in the Malegaon terror blasts case - the first case allegedly involving members of Abhinav Bharat, supposedly an extremist Hindutva outfit. On Tuesday, PM Narendra Modi in Lok Sabha had also attacked Congress for talking on Hindutva terror even as "Pakistan-backed terror organisations like the LeT were carrying out bomb attacks in different parts" during its regimes. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like TV providers are furious: this gadget gives you access to all channels Techno Mag Learn More Undo In a leaked diplomatic cable, a neta can be heard saying that he was more concerned about "Hindu terror", Modi had said, in what was seen as a reference to the Wikileaks disclosure of a purported conversation between a US diplomat and Rahul Gandhi, then a Congress MP. Participating in the special discussion on Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev, Shah accused Congress of enabling terrorism through decades of "appeasement politics" and weakening India's internal security. "The only reason terrorism spread in this country was because of your (Congress) vote-bank calculations," he said. He also said death sentence for Afzal Guru, who was convicted for the terror attack on Parliament, could not be carried out for long as P Chidambaram was home minister. On J&K, Shah said terrorism was now at its lowest point. "There was a time when Pakistan didn't even need to send terrorists. Our own youth were being radicalised. But in the last six months, not a single Kashmiri youth has picked up a gun. All those being eliminated now are Pakistanis," he said. "In the last six months, terrorist groups have not been able to enlist a single local youth," said Shah, who emphasised that the last elections in J&K were the fairest the it has seen. "Elections in J&K were routinely rigged. One senior security officer told me that his main job during the polls was not to ensure safety but to stuff ballots," he said, adding that faith in the fairness has led to a huge turnaround in sentiment. "There was not a single village where processions were not taken out against the killings of tourists at Pahalgam," he said. On Pakistan, he reiterated, "There will be no dialogue until terrorism ends. We stopped only after they pleaded for a ceasefire - when they were on their knees."

Terrorism handled with iron fist under Modi Govt: Shah in RS
New Delhi, July 30 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah today launched a scathing attack on the Congress party during a fiery address in the Rajya Sabha, asserting that the terrorists behind several high-profile attacks during the UPA era had been eliminated under the Modi government's recent counter-terror operations—Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev. In a sharp political offensive during participation in debate on Operation Sindoor, Shah accused the Congress, particularly former Home Minister P. Chidambaram, of shielding Pakistan-backed narratives for the sake of "vote-bank politics". He alleged that the UPA government was reluctant to take strong action against terrorists and instead relied on diplomatic paperwork. 'Under Operation Sindoor, many key terrorists like Hafiz Muhammad, Mudassar, Mohamad Hamza, Mohammed Hazar, Abdul Malik and others have either been killed or incapacitated,' Shah told the Upper House, adding that several of them were so severely injured 'they won't be able to commit another terror attack in the future.' Hitting out at Chidambaram for questioning the nationality of the slain militants, Shah retorted: 'Why does Chidambaram need proof? Who is he trying to save—Pakistan or Lashkar?' He went on to accuse the Congress of "placing national security second to appeasement politics." Referring to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, the Home Minister disclosed that the three Lashkar-e-Taiba commanders involved—identified as Suleimani, Afghan, and Jibran—were neutralised in Operation Mahadev conducted on Monday. He cited forensic evidence and eyewitness testimonies linking the trio to the attack, and attributed the plot to Lashkar's proxy outfit, The Resistance Front (TRF). 'Unlike the past, we did not wait. I reached Srinagar the same day,' Shah recalled. 'Congress kept sending dossiers, but under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, we gave a direct response. Only fear ensures peace with terrorists.' In an apparent swipe at Chidambaram, Shah questioned the Congress' credibility on national security. 'He says Operation Sindoor wasn't decisive. Was 1965 or 1971 decisive then? Why did terrorism rise so drastically under Congress?' he asked, pointing to what he termed a history of inaction and weak responses under previous governments. The Opposition, led by the Congress and other INDIA bloc constituents, staged a walkout during Shah's reply, demanding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's presence in the House to answer questions related to Operation Sindoor. The protest unfolded just as Shah began responding to their concerns. Shah said as per the rule, it is the Government's prerogative who will speak in the House. UNI AJ SS
