Rakeen Saad Replaces Yasmin Raeis in TV Series "Qtl Ikhtiyari"

After a year of hindered production, the TV series "Qtl Ikhtiyari" ("Optional Killing") is getting a fresh start, but this time, with major changes.
Egyptian actress Yasmin Raeis has dropped from the project and has been replaced by Jordanian actress Rakeen Saad.
The drama was originally scheduled to debut during the 2024 Ramadan drama marathon, but production issues halted filming from starting on schedule, putting the project on hold for a long period.
With the delay, Raeis decided to exit the series, especially given her busy schedule with new projects in film and television.
Sources within the production team say the production company was able to overcome the financial crisis that had disrupted filming, and a decision was made to debut the project outside of the Ramadan drama marathon, with significant changes to the number of episodes and the technical crew.
The show's creators also altered the series' episodes from 15 to 30.
"Qtl Ikhtiyari" is written by Amin Gamal and directed by Mohamed Bakir.
Principal photography is set to begin in the coming weeks.
Saad was last seen next in Egyptian actor Asser Yassin's Netflix TV series "Mawid Maa Elmady" (Echoes of The Past).
The cast also includes Shereen Reda, Mahmoud Hamida, Saba Mubarak, Huda El Mufti, Sherif Salama, Mohamed Alaa, Mohamed Tharwat, Tamer Nabil, and more.
Produced by Charisma Group with executive producer Mohammad Mashish, the adaptation hails from scriptwriter Mohamed Al Masry and director Al Sadeer Massoud.
"Mawid Maa Elmady" consists of 8 episodes and is based on the Mexican thriller series "Quién mató a Sara?" (Who Killed Sara? in English).
The show ran for three seasons from March 2021 to May 2022 and follows Manolo Cardona as Álex, who was framed for the murder of his sister Sara.
Now he's out of prison he's on the hunt for revenge, as he tries to uncover the mystery of what happened.
'Mawid Maa Elmady' delves deep into the emotional and psychological turmoil of Yehia, whose life was torn apart by the murder of his sister, Nadia.
"After being wrongly convicted of her death and facing 15 years behind bars, Yahia's release is followed by a burning desire for revenge, where he will stop at nothing to find Nadia's real killer. His return sees old family wounds reopened, long-buried secrets come to life, and the reality that the truth never stays hidden forever," according to the official synopsis.

Egypt, HK Palace Museum to co-host exhibition on ancient Egyptian civilization
Secretary-General of Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities Mohamed Ismail Khaled and Director of the Hong Kong Palace Museum Louis Ng signed a cooperation agreement to organize a major temporary exhibition titled 'Ancient Egypt Unveiled: Treasures from Egyptian Museums'. The exhibition is scheduled to be held at the Hong Kong Palace Museum from November 18, 2025, to August 31, 2026. The signing ceremony took place in Hong Kong, in the presence of senior Egyptian and Chinese cultural officials. The exhibition will feature approximately 250 exceptional artifacts carefully selected from several Egyptian museums, including the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, Luxor Museum of Ancient Egyptian Art, Suez National Museum and Sohag National Museum. The exhibition will showcase recently excavated artifacts from the Saqqara archaeological site, alongside a carefully curated selection of items presently exhibited in the 'At the Summit of the Pyramid: Civilization of Ancient Egypt' exhibition in Shanghai. The exhibition focuses on three key themes: Royal Egypt, the Era of Tutankhamun, and Archaeological Discoveries from Saqqara. Following the signing ceremony, an international press conference was held to commemorate the partnership, drawing extensive media coverage both locally and internationally. In his remarks, Khaled described the exhibition as a cultural gateway to over 5,000 years of Egyptian history, marking the start of an exceptional cultural journey that deepens cooperation between Egypt and China. He described the exhibition as a timeless cultural dialogue that bridges past and present, reflecting the artistic and creative values shared by two of the world's great civilizations. Mohamed Hamaki Is Putting Final Touches on New Album
Yara Sameh Egyptian superstar Mohamed Hamaki is putting the final touches on his new album. The record consists of 10 songs and is slated to arrive in the summer. In the album, Hamaki cooperates with new collaborations with composers Tamer Hussein, Aziz Elshafei, and more. The megastar released his last album 'Howa El Asas' in August 2024. Hamaki, born on November 4, 1975, is one of Egypt's and the Middle East's most talented male singers. He released his first single in 1997 and his first album 'Khalina Neesh' (Let's Live) in 2003. Hamaki's music career consisted of more than a dozen songs and 9 albums. Jessie J Shares Heartbreaking Update following Mastectomy
Yara Sameh British pop singer Jessie J has confirmed she's not cancer-free following her mastectomy. The 37-year-old "Price Tag" singer told her followers on Friday that her previous social media post had been "misunderstood" and "the cancer at present had unfortunately not all gone". Jessie also said she was awaiting test results and would be taking a hiatus from social media to focus on her recovery. She penned: "I posted a list of pros and cons of having breast cancer surgery. The first pro I put was... the cancer has all gone,". "This was a positive affirmation, NOT a fact. I don't have my results yet. I added the [fingers crossed emoji] in thinking people would understand, and clearly a lot didn't,". Jessie added: "A weird situation. My fault for not being clearer. But for now, I do not have my results after surgery, which was only 6 nights ago. I pray it will be true soon, but the journey of cancer isn't that simple, unfortunately." The star concluded: "Tapping off socials for a week. Healthy and needed a reset. To focus on my recovery and saying stuff that gets twisted or misread. My head and boob hurts. Lol, Bye. Always loveeeee." The confusion came after the songstress shared an Instagram update on Thursday, which read: "Pros: Cancer has all gone." She also revealed her mastectomy surgery had gone well. Adding to her list of positives, she wrote: "I can watch Love Island with no guilt. I am getting to rest and talk to friends more than ever." Jessie also noted that her partner, Chanan Safir Colman, and their son, Sky, have been very supportive. The singer later said that while she'd written the words "cancer is gone", she ended the comment with a fingers-crossed emoji as "it's a hope, not a fact". "I only had my surgery 4 days ago.
