ChatGPT introduces record mode and connectors with Google Drive and DropBox for enterprises
'For example, a researcher could use the Box connector to quickly retrieve quarterly sales metrics from PDFs or spreadsheets stored in Box. ChatGPT will structure and clearly present the data - and respect your organization's existing permissions on the user level - from those documents, with citations,' the announcement made by the company said.
Admins will be able to choose which connectors to enable at the workspace level by hierarchy.
Meanwhile, Record mode in ChatGPT helps users record and transcribe meetings, generate clear notes, timestamp citations, and offer AI-powered suggestions.
Users will be able to recall past decisions and follow-up actions from documents and saved files and even turn recorded discussions into actionable items as a Canvas document, ChatGPT's interface or writing and coding.
Additionally, the beta for deep research connectors is now available with HubSpot, Linear, as well as many popular Microsoft and Google tools. 'These build on Deep Research, an agent that conducts multi-step research for complex tasks, by gathering, synthesizing, and presenting information from third-party tools and the web,' the company stated.
Connectors are currently available to all Team, Enterprise, and Edu users.
Customers can also use model context protocol (MCP) to connect to other tools for deep research. MCP support will be available to Pro, Team, and Enterprise users.

Sundar Pichai tells Google employees to rely more on AI than colleagues to drive productivity
Google is asking its employees to rely on AI more often — not just to build new things, but to help them work faster and smarter. Top bosses are making it clear: the new way of working is to do more with less, and AI is a big part of that. During a company-wide meeting last week, Google's CEO, Sundar Pichai, spoke about the rising expectations on teams. While building AI tools remains important, Google is also changing how teams should work — with fewer people, quicker processes, and more help from to a report by CNBC, Pichai told employees, 'Anytime you go through a period of extraordinary investment, you respond by adding a lot of headcount, right? But in this AI moment, I think we have to accomplish more by taking advantage of this transition to drive higher productivity.' This reflects what many tech companies are doing today — putting a lot of money into AI, but also asking teams to handle more work with fewer staff. CNBC adds that Alphabet, Google's parent company, plans to spend $85 billion on infrastructure in 2025. That's more than the $75 billion it was planning earlier this point was also supported by Brian Saluzzo, who heads the engineering teams that manage Google's main tech systems. Saluzzo said there's a 'real urgency' to bring AI into more everyday work, especially for Google's software developers. That includes AI tools to help them code faster, and training programmes to help workers understand AI better. Google is also promoting its internal AI tools, such as Cider — an AI-based coding helper — which, according to Saluzzo, is already used weekly by half of the people who have access to it. He also mentioned 'AI Savvy Google', a website made for Google staff that shares toolkits, lessons and courses to help them learn AI. Google has also teamed up with DeepMind to build a training course called 'Building with Gemini', which will launch shift in mindset isn't just happening at Google. Other major tech companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Shopify are also expecting workers to use AI more often. The report also mentions that Microsoft's Julia Liuson recently told employees that 'using AI is no longer optional', while Shopify CEO Tobi Lutke said teams need to show that they can't do something with AI before they ask for more Google's total number of employees has slightly gone down from its highest point in 2023. It now has just over 187,000 full-time staff. Computer science research papers show fastest uptake of AI use in writing, analysis finds
Academy Empower your mind, elevate your skills Researchers analysed the use of large language models in over a million pre-print and published scientific papers between 2020 and 2024, and found the largest, fastest growth in use of the AI systems in computer science papers -- of up to 22 %.Powered by artificial intelligence (AI), large language models are trained on vast amounts of text and can therefore respond to human requests in the natural from Stanford University and other institutes in the US looked at 1,121,912 pre-print papers in the archives 'arXiv' and 'bioRxiv', and published papers across Nature journals from January 2020 to September on how often words commonly used by AI systems appeared in the papers, the team estimated the involvement of a large language model -- ChatGPT in this study -- in modifying content in a research published in the journal Nature Human Behaviour "suggest a steady increase in LLM (large language model) usage, with the largest and fastest growth estimated for computer science papers (up to 22%)."The researchers also estimated a greater reliance on AI systems among pre-print papers in the archive 'bioRxiv' written by authors from regions known to have a lower number of English-language speakers, such as China and continental papers related to mathematics and those published across Nature journals showed a lower evidence of use of AI in modifying content, according to the study team said that shorter papers and authors posting pre-prints more often showed a higher rate of AI use in writing papers, suggesting that researchers trying to produce a higher quantity of writing are more likely to rely on LLMs."These results may be an indicator of the competitive nature of certain research areas and the pressure to publish quickly," the team researchers also looked at a smaller number of papers to understand how scholars disclose use of AI in their inspection of randomly selected 200 computer science papers that were uploaded to the pre-print archive 'arXiv' in February 2024 revealed that "only two out of the 200 papers explicitly disclosed the use of LLMs during paper writing".Future studies looking at disclosure statements might help to understand researchers' motivation for using AI in writing example, policies around disclosing LLM usage in academic writing may still be unclear, or scholars may have other motivations for intentionally avoiding to disclose use of AI, the authors said.A recent study, published in the journal Science, estimated that at least 13% of research abstracts published in 2024 could have taken help from a large language model, as they included more of 'style' words seen to be favoured by these AI from the University of Tubingen, Germany, who analysed more than 15 million biomedical papers published from 2010 to 2024, said that AI models have caused a drastic shift in the vocabulary used in academic writing.
