CAIRO – 25 June 2025: The Iranian Parliament on Wednesday approved a bill to suspend the country's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran's Nournews reported, after recent US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
The bill now needs final approval from the Iranian Supreme National Security Council.
Spokesman of the National Security Committee of the Iranian Parliament Ebrahim Rezaei said this week that the bill includes suspending installing surveillance camera, or allowing inspections and submitting reports to the UN nuclear watchdog.
He added that such measures remain active as long as the security of the country's nuclear facilities is not guaranteed.
The bill comes in the wake of US strikes on Iran's nuclear sites of Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan this week, which triggered further tensions in the Middle East.
US President Donald Trump dubbed the strike 'very successful,' claiming that key enrichment facilities there were 'totally and completely obliterated.'
While Trump asserts that the extent of damage at the Iranian nuclear sites is 'monumental,' however the IAEA head, Rafael Grossi, said the agency is still unable to assess the damage.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed regret to the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and to the brotherly Qatari people for the damages caused by the attack that targeted Al-Udeid Air Base#Egypt #News #Breaking | #مصر #عاجلhttps://t.co/TLDgKlhrIy — Egypt Today Magazine (@EgyptTodayMag) June 25, 2025
The US strikes came amidst a war between Israel and Iran, which culminated in a ceasefire announced by Trump on Monday after Tehran launched a limited retaliatory strike on the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
Tel Aviv initiated the war on 13 June, bombing nuclear and military sites in Iran and assassinating key military officials and senior nuclear scientists.

Iran Bans IAEA Chief from Entering Country

Israa Farhan Iran has officially barred Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), from entering its territory, in a move that further deepens tensions between Tehran and international nuclear watchdogs. The announcement was made by Hamid Reza Haji Babaei, First Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iranian Parliament), during a ceremony commemorating the martyrdom of Chief Justice Mohammad Hossein Beheshti and other judiciary figures killed in 1981. Haji Babaei declared that Grossi would no longer be permitted to visit Iran, claiming that the West's focus on Iran's missile and nuclear programs was merely a pretext. He argued that Iran's geopolitical stance, not its weapons, was the real issue for its adversaries. According to Haji Babaei, some foreign powers believe the only way to undermine a nation with a 7,000-year-old heritage like Iran is by fueling ethnic divisions. He also claimed that Western analysts falsely assumed that 85% of Iranians would support foreign military intervention and rise up against the government if such an attack occurred. 'We will no longer allow Grossi to enter our country,' Haji Babaei stated, alleging that Israel has allocated four buildings specifically for monitoring Iran's activities through Grossi and the IAEA. He added, 'They said if we didn't negotiate, they would strike, and they did. What should we fear? Nothing. Success is on our side.' Earlier, Iran's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee approved draft legislation mandating the suspension of cooperation with the IAEA. The bill reflects growing discontent in Tehran over international oversight of its nuclear activities. Committee spokesperson Ebrahim Rezai confirmed that the proposal was passed during a recent parliamentary session and includes multiple provisions to limit Iran's nuclear transparency. Grossi has visited Iran several times in recent years to negotiate access to nuclear sites and address concerns about uranium enrichment levels. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Iran Reopens Part of Airspace to International Flights

Israa Farhan Iran has reopened a portion of its airspace to international flights, marking a cautious step toward normalization amid a fragile ceasefire with Israel. The decision, announced on Saturday, comes five days after the ceasefire took effect and follows weeks of heightened military tensions. According to Majid Ikhwan, spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Transportation, the country has reopened its central and western air corridors exclusively for foreign airlines operating international routes. The announcement was made via the state-run IRNA news agency. Flight activity had already resumed gradually on Wednesday but was initially restricted to Iran's eastern regions. However, operations over key areas, including the capital Tehran, remain suspended. Both of Tehran's major airports continue to be closed, and no timeline has been given for the full restoration of air traffic across the country. Iran had shut down its airspace on June 13 after an Israeli military strike targeted sites within Iranian territory, escalating tensions in the region. The temporary closure had disrupted numerous international flight paths, prompting several global airlines to reroute their services to avoid Iranian airspace. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
