Blending luxury hospitality with thrilling alpine drives on legendary routes such as the Furka and Oberalp Passes, the shindig gathered together a sizable collection of rare and historically significant motors.
Standout models included a special edition Lamborghini Diablo SE30, designed to celebrate Lambo's 30th anniversary and a Ferrari 275 GTS - a stunning convertible grand tourer from Ferrari's golden era, celebrated for its timeless design and refined engineering.
Indeed, there was a notable presence of Ferraris at The Chedi Andermatt, with a Ferrari 275 GTB - a high-performance coupe that is widely regarded as one of Ferrari's most beautiful and technically advanced models from the 1960s - also in attendance.
The 275 GTB is perhaps best known for its value, with it priced between £1million to over £3.5million.
A Ferrari F40, often considered the ultimate Ferrari supercar - a turbocharged masterpiece that is a symbol of raw performance and motorsport heritage - was naturally sat alongside.
The Prancing Horse's long-time German rival, Porsche, was also richly represented, with a Carrera GT, a modern supercar legend, famous for its carbon-fibre construction and V10 engine, as well as a Porsche 993 GT2.
This track-focused, high-performance version of the Porsche 911 is revered for its rarity, although it's nothing compared to the 993 GT2 Le Mans winner that was perhaps the showpiece of the weekend.
A true motorsport icon, this Le Mans-winning motor was driven on public roads in the Swiss Alps for the very first time.
Arguably the standout classic was a Bavarian Blue Mercedes-Benz 300 SL 'Alloy,' hailed as one of the rarest cars in existence.
The figure for the collection of motors at the event was revealed to be CHF 80 million - roughly £75 million.
All the money… but still a kn--' Watch boy racer in £3M supercar get instant karma after loudly whizzing down quiet road
The event, held to celebrate automotive history, engineering, design and camaraderie, also maintained a commitment to sustainability.
The Chedi Andermatt, a five-star luxury hotel blending Swiss-Alpine and Asian design, consistently ranks among the best hotels worldwide and was awarded top placement by the Forbes Travel Guide in 2025.
A top spot for petrolheads, it's renowned for its easy access to iconic alpine passes such as the Furka and Oberalp Passes while offering year-round natural beauty.
It's also ideal for skiing, hiking and exploring the Swiss Alps.

Britain's Rowland takes Formula E title with two races to spare

BERLIN, July 13 (Reuters) - Nissan's Oliver Rowland won the Formula E title for the first time and with two races to spare on Sunday, the Briton becoming the all-electric series' 10th different champion in the space of 11 seasons. Rowland had needed to lead Pascal Wehrlein by 59 points after the second of two races in Berlin, the championship's penultimate weekend, and he did it by finishing fourth with his Porsche rival only 16th despite starting on pole. The Briton now has 184 points with Wehrlein on 125. Sunday's race at Berlin's old Tempelhof airport was won by Jaguar's Nick Cassidy, completing a weekend sweep after teammate Mitch Evans won on Saturday, with Andretti's Jake Dennis second and Jean-Eric Vergne third for DS Penske. The final two races of the season are in London on July 26-27. It was the first time a Japanese manufacturer had won the championship.

Has Bentley Officially Surpassed Rolls-Royce?

The two luxury automakers have a lot in common, but not their balance sheets Rolls-Royce and Bentley are tied to each other forever. As recently as the late 90s, the two automakers made vehicles that were virtually indistinguishable from one another. Each had its trademarks, badging, and in Rolls-Royce's case, the Spirit of Ecstasy and grille design. Fast-forwarding three decades, we find two brands with distinct personalities and heritage. Looking closer, we see two brands that have set out to accomplish similar things — and achieved on very different levels. Previous Pause Next Unmute 0:00 / 0:09 Full screen 2025 Audi S3 VS 2025 Mercedes-AMG CLA 35: Which one comes out on top? Watch More But first, a quick history lesson. Bentley Motors began life in January 1919 as World War I ended, debuting its first car later that year. The company delivered its first car in the following year and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1927. Then, the brand repeated its wins in the three years following. Rolls-Royce bought the brand when it went into receivership on the heels of the Great Depression. The newly acquired now-subsidiary's first car was a Bentley 3.5-liter that appeared in 1933, powered by a Rolls-Royce engine. The latter part would prove to be a trend as all Bentley models produced after the merger until 2004 relied on Rolls-Royce engines and chassis. After changing hands in the 1970s, Rolls-Royce (including Bentley) went up for sale in the late 1990s. BMW and Volkswagen were poised to become the inheritors of the luxury crown. BMW was already providing powertrains for Rolls, and took further steps to purchase the name and logo for Rolls-Royce. For a sizable $703 million, Volkswagen purchased the designs, nameplates, and the facilities themselves. But, without the rights to the name and badging, a compromise needed to be met. Thus, VW took Bentley, and BMW got Rolls-Royce. Effective January 2003, the two brands were finally separate entities. After twenty-two years apart, how have they fared? Sales figures show the two brands are living very different lives, with one common focus Let's start with Rolls-Royce. The original nameplate has carried itself well into the 21st century, and 2024 saw the brand deliver 5,712 cars, its third-best recorded. Here, Bentley compares favorably. The Crewe-based automaker delivered nearly double the number of cars as Rolls, with 10,600 cars finding new homes. However, volume is only part of where these brands generate their revenue. Both place a heavy emphasis on customizability; Rolls-Royce has Bespoke, while Bentley offers Mulliner. Last year, Bentley saw revenue per car rise 10%, and a lot of that comes from the fact that 70% of the cars delivered had at least one Mulliner inclusion. Rolls-Royce says, similarly, that it saw a 10% increase in Bespoke content overall, enough to set a record for the brand. Bentley reported a profit of $439 million. Meanwhile, BMW reported that Rolls-Royce generated around $140 million in profit, demonstrating that the brand is also very likely making less, percentage-wise, per car than the boys in Crewe. The story remains consistent no matter which arena you pick. Rolls-Royce, overall, accounts for roughly 1% of parent company BMW's profit. Bentley? Last year, despite a downturn in profits, the brand accounted for around 2% of Volkswagen's profit. Both are making plays for new customers We've established that Bentley is making more money than Rolls-Royce, but what does the future hold? Bentley certainly isn't resting on its laurels, just recently announcing three new stores for North America in desirable locations — Santa Barbara, California, San Antonio, Texas, and Oakville, Canada, a Toronto suburb. An exec was recently quoted as saying there's 'no real limitation' on what the automaker can or would build you, even offering a pickup truck. Finally, Bentley also laid the ground for a new BEV assembly line back in March 2025. Then, in July, Bentley opened up a brand-new design studio converted from one of its oldest and most heritage-filled buildings. BMW isn't putting Rolls-Royce out to pasture yet, though. Last year, the brand added two new Private Office locations and an invite-only network for Rolls-Royce customers to configure their vehicles. Furthermore, the brand committed around $400 million to expanding manufacturing at the Goodwood facility. 2024 Rolls-Royce Spectre The 2025 Bentley Continental GT Speed in the Meatpacking District, New York City Final thoughts The numbers don't lie. It's a fairly accurate statement to say that Bentley has surpassed Rolls-Royce, at least for the time being. However, even after a century, both brands are still growing. Notably, the big B doesn't have a single all-electric model. Meanwhile, Rolls-Royce has cleaned up with the Spectre, simultaneously attracting a whole new kind of buyer and moving units. It's too early to tell which of these historic luxury brands is going to come out on top, but Bentley has certainly taken the lead, and is obviously working and spending hard to maintain it. 2026 Aston Martin Vantage S Gallery: The More Focused Vantage In Pictures

Vantage gains more power and aerodynamic upgrades It's been a fun couple of weeks if you're into beautiful coupes with prestigious badges on the hood. A few days after Ferrari unveiled the Amalfi, Aston Martin has shown us the new Vantage S. This is a tauter, sharper, and more powerful version of the standard Vantage. The visual changes aren't dramatic, but they add just enough menace to what is one of the world's most arresting GTs. Here's a closer look at the new Vantage S. 1 Source: Aston Martin This is now the most performance-focused version of the Vantage, with changes made to the engine, chassis, throttle pedal, and styling. 2 Source: Aston Martin Outside, there is still a gaping grille, but the Vantage S gets new hood blades in a gloss black or 2×2 Twill Carbon Fiber finish. These help to extract hot air from the V8 engine. 3 Source: Aston Martin Red detailing and available 21-inch wheels in satin black with a red finish further accentuate the coupe's sporty lines. 4 Source: Aston Martin The Vantage S gets a new full-width decklid spoiler that boosts rear downforce by 97 pounds when the car is driving at its top speed of 202 mph. 5 Source: Aston Martin Performance is exceptional. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 now produces 670 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a 0-60 mph time of just 3.3 seconds. Front-end feel and response have been improved, and more direct steering comes from the rear subframe being directly mounted to the body. 6 Subtle S badging can be found around the curvaceous body of the Vantage S. 7 Source: Aston Martin 'S' interior styling has given the already high-class Vantage cabin a further lift. 8 Source: Aston Martin Embroidered 'S' logos are found on the sporty seats, while the legendary Aston Martin wings are stitched into the headrests. The infotainment suite should include Apple's new CarPlay Ultra – the new software has been rejected by many automakers, but Aston Martin became one of the first automakers to adopt it. 9 Source: Aston Martin The steering wheel rim looks to be finished in a grippy suede. It includes paddle shifters for the transmission. 10 Source: Aston Martin The dominant interior color is black, but it's lifted by red stitching dotted around the cabin and on the seats. Full or semi-aniline leather is available, too. 11 Source: Aston Martin Pricing hasn't yet been announced, but the Vantage S – available as a coupe or roadster – is now available to order. Initial deliveries will begin in the final quarter of 2025. About the Author Karl Furlong View Profile
