Legendary '80s metal band Judas Priest have released a cover of Black Sabbath's iconic 'War Pigs' as a tribute to the band ahead of their final concert.
"We are honored to show our love for Ozzy and Black Sabbath with our homage to 'War Pigs,'" the group said in a statement released alongside the cover. "[It's] a song we play at every show around the world that fans sing along to – reinforcing their love as well for the legendary Prince of Darkness.'
Black Sabbath's original lineup – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – is set to perform together for the first time in over 20 years this weekend, and several other big names will take the stage, too. Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera and more are on the bill as well. Judas Priest, however, weren't able to make the show, as they had already committed to the 60th anniversary concert for German hard rock legends Scorpions.
'I had no idea it was happening!" Judas Priest lead singer Rob Halford told Metal Hammer in May. "We've known this guy, Ossy Hoppe – he's like God in Germany for metal. He came in to see me at one of our last shows and says, 'Would you consider doing something really special and important? I'm putting on the Scorpions for their 60th anniversary, in their hometown. Would you work with the band?' And I was just like, 'Done! We've got no plans, it's all good.''
He continued, 'It all got announced and was a big deal — Scorpions and Priest — and suddenly I get this phone call [from Sharon Osbourne]: 'Robbie, I know you've got this gig with Scorpions, but could you consider coming over to do a thing with Ozzy and the guys? He'd love to see you.''
While Halford considered the idea of flying from Germany to Black Sabbath's farewell was technically possible, he deemed the idea to be too 'dangerous.'
'Even with a private plane, there's a word called 'technical', where something could go wrong, or the weather that time of year could cause problems,' Halford added. 'I was absolutely gutted.'

Charlize Theron says being a single mom was 'one of the healthiest decisions' she ever made

Charlize Theron, 49, has zero regrets about doing motherhood solo. During an appearance on Wednesday's episode of " Call Her Daddy," Theron spoke about her life as a single mother of two. She adopted her daughters Jackson and August in 2012 and 2015, respectively. The " Mad Max: Fury Road" actor told podcast host Alex Cooper that her parents' relationship was a "cautionary tale" that helped her realize she didn't want to be in one. Theron was 15 when she witnessed her mother fatally shoot her alcoholic father in self-defense. Theron said it was a "layered and complicated" decision driven by two factors: not wanting what her parents had and recognizing that she "did not have the capability of being healthy in a relationship." "Those two things I had to acknowledge when I decided to be a parent, and I think it's probably one of the healthiest decisions I ever made," she said. However, she acknowledges that there's still a stigma being placed on women who choose to be single. "With women, it's always like, something must be wrong with her. She can't keep a man. And it's never part of the discussion of like, 'Wow, she's really living her truth. She's living in her happiness. This is actually a choice that she made,'" Theron said. "I want to look at them, and just be like, 'Do you know how fucking great it is to live exactly how I want to live?' To experience motherhood exactly how I wanted to experience it," she added. Theron says some people might question whether her decision was fair to her children, but in the end, only they can speak to their own experience. "I can only tell you that this is the best way that I know how to be a mother to them," she said. "I love every single day of it. I love that I don't have to share them with somebody. I love that I don't have to run every fucking thing by a guy," she added. Theron said she "broke the cycle" by knowing exactly what she didn't want in a relationship and what she had to offer. "And who I am at the time that I wanted to be a parent was not somebody who should be having kids with another person," Theron said. Theron isn't the only celebrity who has spoken about being a single parent. Lucy Liu told The Cut in 2023 that the decision to have a child in her late 40s via surrogacy — as a single woman — was largely unplanned. "I didn't do a lot of research, I just pulled the trigger," Liu said. In a March interview with Parade, Connie Britton — who adopted her son from Ethiopia as a single woman at 45 — said she always wanted to be a mother. "I knew that I hadn't achieved the kind of partnership that I was looking for to have a spouse and a child together. And so I thought, 'This is the time, I'm going to start the adoption process,'" Britton said.

Police investigate Bob Vylan over ‘death to IDF' call at gig before Glastonbury

Punk duo Bob Vylan are being investigated by police after allegedly calling for 'death to every single IDF soldier out there' at a concert one month before Glastonbury. The pair are already being investigated by Avon and Somerset Police over their controversial appearance at Worthy Farm when rapper Bobby Vylan led crowds in chants of 'death, death to the IDF (Israel Defence Forces)' during their livestreamed performance at the Somerset music festival last weekend. In video footage, Bobby Vylan, whose real name is reportedly Pascal Robinson-Foster, 34, appears to be at Alexandra Palace telling crowds: 'Death to every single IDF soldier out there as an agent of terror for Israel. Death to the IDF.' The pair had supported Iggy Pop at the London venue on his tour on May 28, a month before Glastonbury. A Met Police spokesperson said on Wednesday: 'Officers are investigating comments allegedly made during a concert at Alexandra Palace earlier this year. 'The decision to investigate follows the emergence of footage which appears to have been filmed at the venue on 28 May 2025.' It is not clear when the investigation was launched. The probe comes after it was revealed Bob Vylan will no longer play Radar festival in Manchester The duo were due to headline the Saturday slot but no longer appear in the line-up. A statement posted on Radar festival's Instagram account said: 'Bob Vylan will not be appearing at Radar festival this weekend.' It has since updated its website, changing the Saturday slot to 'Headliner TBA' (to be announced). In response, the group shared the festival's statement on their Instagram story, adding the caption: 'Silence is not an option. We will be fine, the people of Palestine are hurting. Manchester we will be back.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bob Vylan (@bobbyvylan) The rap group had issued a statement on Tuesday claiming they were being 'targeted for speaking up' after Avon and Somerset police began its investigation. The BBC has also faced criticism for livestreaming the set and has since apologised, describing the chants as 'antisemitic sentiments' that were 'unacceptable'. It later emerged BBC director-general Tim Davie was at Glastonbury while the performance was being livestreamed. A BBC spokesperson said: 'The director-general was informed of the incident after the performance and at that point he was clear it should not feature in any other Glastonbury coverage.' On Monday, the group were banned from entering the US, ahead of their tour, with deputy secretary of state Christopher Landau revoking the duo's visas for their 'hateful tirade at Glastonbury'. They have also been pulled from their upcoming performance at a German music venue. Bob Vylan are expected to perform at the Boardmasters surfing and music festival in Newquay, Cornwall, in August.
