Kilmarnock star ‘flies out for medical' to become latest player to swap Scottish Premiership for Serie A

ITALY's top flight looks set to recruit another Scottish Premiership star.
The likes of Lewis Ferguson, Aaron Hickey, Josh Doig and Liam Henderson have all left Scotland and played in Serie A in recent years.

Scotland national team stars Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour joined them last season and would go on to win the Scudetto with Napoli.
Now according to several reports in Italy, Kilmarnock defender Corrie Ndaba is due to fly out for a medical before completing a transfer to Lecce.
The left-back, 25, has two years remaining on his deal at Rugby Park so the Ayrshire club will bank a nice fee for the player if the move follows through as expected.
Ndaba joined Kilmarnock last year from Ipswich Town, having previously spent time on loan there.
A Republic of Ireland youth international, Ndaba came through the Ipswich youth ranks but never played a competitive league match for the Tractor Boys.
He instead had several loans spells, including one at Killie's local rivals, Ayr United.
According to Sky Italy, Ndaba will sign a three-year deal with the option of extending for a further two.
Ndaba made 38 appearances in all competitions for Killie last season as a key member of the squad under Derek McInnes.
He became a fan favourite the year before during his initial loan stint.
Ndaba scored once and provided one assist from left-back in the 2024-25 campaign.

He had similar stats the previous season, with a single goal and assists across 37 total games.
As well as left-back, Ndaba can also play at centre-back or on the left of midfield.
Lecce finished three points clear of the drop zone last term and new boss Eusebio Di Francesco has been keen to strengthen his defence.
The team conceded 58 goals in 38 league matches.
Based in the south of Italy, Lecce currently have former Rangers midfielder Lassana Coulibaly and ex-Aberdeen star Ylber Ramadani on their books.

'I had a disc problem in my neck and it's caused a nerve problem down my arm. I'm not in any pain. The nerve causes a bit of tingling down my arm and it's caused a little bit of weakness in my arm. For me, it's about trying to get back as quickly as possible, get myself out on the training pitch and join in with the boys and start trying to push to get back in the team.' Rangers boss left frustrated at 'downbeat' attitude
Rangers head coach Russell Martin criticised some of his players for a lack of intensity as they prepare for their crucial Champions League qualifying second leg with Ibrox side came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Middlesbrough in their pre-season friendly at Ibrox, but Martin was left frustrated with a "downbeat" attitude in some of the players' preparation. "They're athletic, they pressed really aggressively, but a lot of the moments that were uncomfortable for us were down to a lack of intensity on our part."And I said to the guys, I didn't like the warm-up, there's a bit of disappointment in a few people, maybe not in the team and all that stuff."But, if you're disappointed and especially playing for this football club, you have to show it in being more aggressive and more intense, not being downbeat and sort of just being out there and letting the game pass you by a little bit. "So they know that now. That can't happen."Similar to midweek against Panathinaikos, Rangers were frustrated for large parts of the first half against the Championship side."It can't be a problem for us that, whenever you step on the pitch for this club and this team, you have to be all in, you have to be," Martin said. "There were some good moments in the first half, but you know, I think the thing to take is, when you're not playing or not in the starting 11 right now - and, by the way, at the start of a very, very long season - we are gonna need everyone."I think that's the lesson is, if you're not gonna play with enough intensity or enough speed or enough aggression, then you'll be put into difficult situations way more than you are if you wanna bring all of those to the party."Martin picked out winger Oscar Cortes and 17-year-old forward Josh Gentles for praise."I've told them that you need to be a bit more like Oscar - run really hard, maybe the end product wasn't quite there today because he hasn't played too much, but effort, endeavour, willingness to run to help your mate," Martin said."Josh Gentles is the same. So that's where you need to be if you want to be part of this in the long term."The head coach was also shown a red card after speaking with referee John Beatton about a first-half incident where he felt his side should have been awarded a penalty."I'm a passionate guy and I probably I probably overstepped the mark," Martin added.
