Brad Pitts legal clash with Angelina Jolie heats up as he seeks private messages related to Winery sale

Mint2 days ago
Los Angeles [US], July 10 (ANI): Hollywood Actor Brad Pitt has demanded private communications from ex-wife Angelina Jolie in their ongoing legal fight over Chateau Miraval, the French winery the former couple once co-owned.
According to court documents filed on June 30 and obtained by PEOPLE, the 61-year-old actor requested records and a deposition from Alexey Oliynik, an employee of the Stoli Group. Pitt believes Oliynik has key information about Jolie's 2021 sale of her stake in the winery to Stoli's wine division, Tenute del Mondo.
The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star claims that Jolie made the sale without his consent, violating a past agreement that neither of them would sell their share without the other's approval. In February 2022, he sued Jolie, while Jolie responded in September 2022 with a countersuit, accusing Pitt of "waging a vindictive war" against her since their separation in 2016.
As per PEOPLE, in Pitt's new document filed in the Superior Court of California, Oliynik has refused to provide documents or sit for questioning, stating that he cannot be forced to do so since he resides in Switzerland. Pitt's team argues these records are important to prove that Jolie "acted with malice" by selling her share to a buyer Pitt had long opposed.
Jolie's legal team has previously claimed Pitt would only buy her out if she signed a non-disclosure agreement meant to keep her from speaking about alleged abuse. That includes an incident on a private jet in 2016, where Pitt was reportedly verbally and physically abusive. Authorities investigated but did not press charges, and Jolie did not pursue legal action at the time, PEOPLE reported.
The two, who share six children, finalised their divorce in December 2023, but the legal battle over Chateau Miraval remains unsettled.
In 2024, a judge ordered Jolie to submit eight years' worth of NDAs she issued to others as part of the dispute over the terms Pitt allegedly asked her to agree to.
A source close to Jolie told PEOPLE that she hopes the family can find peace.
According to PEOPLE, a source close to Pitt shared that Jolie's actions have caused "tremendous collateral damage to those in and around the family." (ANI)

Meet world's poorest man alive, once top trader, got 5-year sentence, caused Rs 49500000000000 loss to..., his name is... When we think of the richest individuals in the world, names such as Elon Musk, Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and Jeff Bezos come to our minds. But have you ever wondered whose world's poorest person is? Well, pictures of huts, an empty steel bowl, and torn clothes are associated with the 'beggar' word. At first glance, Jerome Kerviel might seem like an ordinary man walking around the streets of Paris. However, his story is not a normal one! Instead of poverty being shown in his clothing, food, or home, Jérôme Kerviel carries a financial burden so large that it caused a global market shock. And ultimately, he earned the title of being 'the world's poorest man.' Who is Jérôme Kerviel? In this article, we are talking about Jérôme Kerviel, a Frenchman who is now considered to be the world's poorest and most indebted person. He is buried under a debt of nearly Rs 4.95 lakh crore (around $6.7 billion). Being poor does not always mean empty pockets. Born on January 11, 1977, in a small French town called Pont-l'Abbé, Jerome hailed from a modest family. Speaking about his personal life, Jerome's mother was a hairdresser, while his father worked as a blacksmith. Jérôme was a good student. He completed his master's degree in Finance from Lumière Université Lumière Lyon 2. Soon after completing his studies, he was hired by Société Generale, which is the third-largest bank in France. At the bank, he worked as a junior derivatives trader. However, his knowledge of technology and excellent trading ability led him to cover millions of dollars in deals. He was always part of the bank's Delta One division, which deals with share trading, algorithms, and investments. Jérôme had a vast knowledge of computer programming and trading systems; however, he misused this knowledge and expertise, turning it into wrongful use. Jérôme had been misusing vulnerabilities in the bank's internal systems to perform arbitrage. During this period, he traded billions of dollars utilizing the company's capital. At first, he made huge profits, executing trades worth almost $73 billion in a calendar year. It is noted that the bank remained aware of this practice for a very long time, as Jérôme used technology to hide every irregularity. However, in 2008, the fraud became apparent, and an investigation began. On January 19, 2008, the scandal was revealed, shocking the bank and everyone around it. Upon inquiry into the controversy, it was determined that Jérôme's unauthorized trading incurred an approximate loss of $7.2 billion, which is over Rs 4,95,000 crore, to the bank. This amount has become a debt burden against him, making him one of the poorest people in the world. After the incident, Jérôme received a 3-year prison sentence in 2015. He pleaded guilty to several charges, including breach of trust, fraud, and unauthorized access to computer systems. While his sentence is completed, the debt burden still remains today. Upon his release from prison, Jérôme is trying to live a life of simplicity, but the weight of debt still leaves him one of the poorest people in the world. Some argue he didn't act with intent; others would say he acted out of greed and took advantage of the system. Here's the bottom line: a man who once traded millions on a bank's trading desk is now labeled as the poorest person in the world.

Court grants bail to woman accused of pouring hot water mixed with chilli to kill husband

New Delhi [India], July 12 (ANI): Delhi's Tis Hazari Court has granted bail to a woman accused of pouring hot water mixed with chilli powder on her husband to kill him. This case pertains to an FIR registered at Nangloi Police Station. A charge sheet has been filed after an investigation. Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Saurabh Kulshrestha granted bail to the accused Jyoti alias Kittu after considering that, as per MLC, the victim has suffered simple injuries. 'Insofar as the issue regarding threats to the victim and the witnesses is concerned, the same can be taken care of by imposing appropriate conditions, the court said. 'Considering the aforesaid facts and circumstances, the applicant or accused Jyoti alias Kittu is ordered to be admitted to regular bail on furnishing a bail bond in the sum of Rs 30,000 with one surety in the like amount,' said ASJ Kulshrestha on July 9. It is alleged that on 01.01.2025, the accused, who was to kill her husband, had poured boiling water mixed with red chilli powder on the face, mouth and chest of the victim. When she was questioned by him, she stated 'tujhe to jaan se marna hi hai' (I want to kill you). Thereafter, the accused bolted the door of the room from outside and fled from there after taking the victim's mobile phone so that he could not call anyone for help. The victim broke down the window, stepped onto the balcony and screamed for help. Afterwards, his landlord, Vikas, came there, and the victim was taken to the hospital. Counsel for the accused, while arguing for bail, submitted that the accused had been falsely implicated and she had been a victim of domestic violence at the hands of the accused, and she had earlier also filed a complaint against him on November 19, 2024. On the other hand, while opposing the bail plea, the counsel for the complainant stated that immediately prior to the incident, the complainant had made a police complaint against the accused. It was further stated that the applicant or accused was earlier married and had taken a divorce, and has a daughter from a previous marriage. This fact was not disclosed to the complainant before his marriage to the accused. (ANI)

Squid Game's Lee Jung-jae Expresses Interest In Indian Films: Would Love To Do Bollywood Movie

Seoul: Emmy-winning actor Lee Jung-jae, best known for his role as protagonist Seong Gi-hun in the hit Korean series 'Squid Game', would love to explore Indian cinema. In a virtual interview with ANI, Lee Jung-jae expressed his desire to work in Bollywood. He said, "I would love to be a part of a Bollywood film if I was given the opportunity." During the interaction, Lee Jung-jae also recalled reprising his character for the third season of the Netflix show. "It was a day of mixed feelings when I put on that green tracksuit with my number 456 on it and I stepped onto the set again for the first time. I also felt the same way when I put back on the red haired wig. I've worked in this industry for quite a long time but I have never felt a rush of emotions like the way I experienced on the day when I came back to the sets of Squid Game," Lee Jung-Jae shared. 'Squid Game' premiered on Netflix in 2021. The first season was nominated for 17 Emmys, with the show winning six, including one for best actor in a drama for Lee and another for best guest actress in a drama for Lee You-mi. The veteran Korean actor became a global icon with his intriguing performance in Netflix's dystopian survival thriller. Asked what made this show a huge success, Lee Jung-jae emphasised,"I did not expect this kind of success. I think it's about timing. When Squid Game season one was released, not only were we mid-pandemic, but also I think it was the beginning of a lot of global economic struggle, unfortunately. And so many people were struggling in real life, which has been reflected in the characters in Squid Game. So I think the overall timing of the release of the show and the things that were happening around the world and how much of that was reflected in the characters was partly what led to its huge success. " Interestingly, 'Squid Game' broke a new record for Netflix when it debuted its third and final season recently. Over the first three days, the smash-hit Korean drama drew 60.1 million views, setting a new high for the streamer, as per Variety. With that impressive opening stat, the third season is now Netflix's ninth most-watched non-English TV show ever on the streamer's regularly updated list of most popular series overall
