Stock market today: Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq futures inch higher to start busy week of Big Tech-dominated earnings

US stock futures rose on Monday, pointing to fresh records for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq as Wall Street girded for a busy week of Big Tech-highlighted earnings and eyed the continued risk around President Trump's looming tariffs. Contracts on the S&P 500 (ES=F) and on the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 (NQ=F) both gained about 0.3% following last week's record-setting rally in growth names. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures (YM=F) were up around 0.2% after the blue-chip benchmark finished slightly negative. This week sees investor focus dominated by two topics: Clarity on US trade policy as the implementation of tariffs looms, and earnings from tech heavyweights as Wall Street eyes record-high market valuations. On the trade front, the EU is said to be stepping up the scope of its retaliation if it fails to strike a trade pact with the US. The bloc is open to an unbalanced deal to break a talks deadlock before the Aug. 1 implementation of Trump's tariffs, per Bloomberg. But Trump's increasingly hardline stance and EU member opposition to concessions are denting hopes for an agreement. Read more: The latest on Trump's tariffs At the weekend, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick reaffirmed the White House's August deadline for new tariffs, calling it a "hard stop" for compliance — before saying that he's looking at continued conversation beyond that date. Meanwhile, Domino's Pizza (DPZ) second quarter sales beat estimates as new products drew buyers, helping offset the impact of tariff uncertainty. Reports from Verizon Communications (VZ) and Cleveland-Cliffs (CLF) are among other highlights on Monday's docket. Earnings season shifts into high gear this week with Alphabet (GOOG) and Tesla (TSLA) set to release updates on Wednesday — the first of the "Magnificent Seven" to report for the second quarter. Strong results could validate stretched valuations as the market's focus on AI growth is beginning to attract comparisons to historic tech bubbles. J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (JBHT): Don't Sell Any Of These Companies, Warns Jim Cramer

We recently published . J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (NASDAQ:JBHT) is one of the stocks Jim Cramer recently discussed. J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (NASDAQ:JBHT) is one of the largest trucking companies in America. As the firm's performance depends on economic performance, it's unsurprising that the shares have lost 13% year-to-date. J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (NASDAQ:JBHT)'s stock is still down by 2.6% since the pre-Liberation Day tariff high. Some factors that have influenced the shares include weak earnings reports on the back of growing stocks. However, Cramer advised viewers against selling the stock: '. . .I'm very bullish on industrial. And the industrials so you don't need to fool around. . .things are better for these companies. We saw that with JB Hunt, which I didn't think had that great a quarter but it was, people regarding as an inflection quarter. So don't sell a rail, don't sell any of these capital equipment companies because I don't think people realize legislation is about capital equipment.' A truck on a highway, its exhausts billowing in the air. Previously, Cramer shared that J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (NASDAQ:JBHT) was quite popular among retail investors: 'Well what people wanted frankly, they're buying the transport, they're buying JB Hunt. They're buying the most pedestrian of things. Which I've got to tell you is really rather amazing again. It's an indicator of people are really, really bullish. They think that there's going to be return to trade. That they were too negative during this period.' While we acknowledge the potential of JBHT as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and have limited downside risk. Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO): It 'Could Have An Oracle-Like Revaluation,' Says Jim Cramer

We recently published . Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) is one of the stocks Jim Cramer recently discussed. Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) is a networking equipment provider whose shares have gained 15% year-to-date. The shares have benefited from strong earnings performance, such as the firm's report in May that saw it raise revenue and EPS estimates and beat analyst revenue guidance. In his previous remarks about Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Cramer has commented on how the firm is positioning itself to be the backbone of AI. His latest remarks, made during the Morning Take for his club meeting, followed a similar theme but built on it as well: '[During Morning Take for the Club meeting] Look at Oracle, they're gonna be in all the Oracle, all the data centers. And he's Jensen's partner, and the stock did not move that much when they announced that. They have a guy who is great cybersecurity who's moving on up. And they are going to be the way you connect all these data centers to the rest of your systems. Engineers using the latest Cisco TelePresence technology to collaborate with colleagues around the world. Previously, Cramer discussed how Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) could be AI's backbone: 'Last night I spoke with Chuck Robbins. He is positioning himself as being now the backbone of the internet with AI. It reminded me very much about John Chambers being the backbone of the internet. He began to get Cisco having its big move. But you also know David, remember the customers. The customers of Cisco, the telcos, its got a little telco feel to it. I think. While we acknowledge the potential of CSCO as an investment, our conviction lies in the belief that some AI stocks hold greater promise for delivering higher returns and have limited downside risk. If you are looking for an extremely cheap AI stock that is also a major beneficiary of Trump tariffs and onshoring, see our free report on the .
