WNBA star Angel Reese has scored a spicy special at McDonald's.
Starting Feb. 10, you can order the Angel Reese Special, which includes a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese topped with a new BBQ sauce, plus French fries and a drink.
Reese is an appropriate choice for the fast-food chain's first national meal collaboration with a female athlete. "McDonald's has always been a big part of my life, from grabbing a McChicken Sandwich as a kid to being named a McDonald's All American in 2020," Reese said in a press release announcing the meal.
"It's really a dream come true to be the first-ever female athlete to have my own meal and be a part of McDonald's amazing basketball legacy. I hope the Angel Reese Special inspires young athletes everywhere to never give up on pursuing their dreams," said Reese, who is currently playing for the Rose Basketball Club in the new three-on-three Unrivaled league.

The new smoky Bold BBQ Sauce is a "gamechanger," which brings a blend of "sweet, savory and a touch of spice," McDonald's says in the press release. The price of the Angel Reese Special is determined by each individual restaurant and may vary based on location, the company said.
Working with Reese continues the "real connection between McDonald's and basketball fans,' said Jennifer 'JJ' Healan, vice president of marketing, brand, content and culture at McDonald's, in a statement.
'We want to continue to fuel their love for the game and support athletes on and off the court," Healan said. "We're excited to bring our legacy with basketball culture to a new generation, and partnering with Angel is only the beginning.'
While awaiting the arrival of the Angel Reese Special, McDonald's fans can order its $5 Meal Deal or from its new budget-friendly McValue menu, which has a "Buy One, Add One for $1" deal netting you one full-priced menu item and another for $1.

French rider Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt wins women's Tour de France at her first attempt

CHATEL, France — French rider Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt won the women's Tour de France at her first attempt on Sunday, launching an attack to clinch the final stage and increase her overnight lead. It gave Ferrand-Prévôt a resounding victory. She finished 3 minutes, 42 seconds ahead of 2023 champion Demi Vollering of the Netherlands and 4:09 clear of defending champion Kasia Niewiadoma of Poland. "After my Olympic title, I said I would try to win the Tour de France in the next three years," said the 33-year-old Ferrand-Prévôt, an Olympic champion in mountain biking at last year's Paris Games. "So here I am, the first (time)." There was little of the drama of last year's final day, which produced a four-second winning margin for the narrowest victory in the history of the women's and men's races. "My teammates worked super hard for me all week long. I just want to say thank you and congrats to them," said Ferrand-Prévôt, who rides for the Visma–Lease a Bike team. "I love you so much girls, and thank you for everything." Ferrand-Prévôt had put herself largely in control by winning Saturday's eighth and penultimate stage with an audacious solo breakaway on the last climb. That gave her an overnight lead of 2:37 seconds over Australian rider Sarah Gigante and 3:18 over Vollering. Sunday's ninth stage from Praz-sur-Arly to Châtel was a 124-kilometer (77-mile) trek featuring three big mountain climbs. But Ferrand-Prévôt did not face any big attacks and instead launched one of her own with 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) left. The crowds cheered her all the way to the finish line and, moments later, the tears flowed as she lay on her back, exhausted but elated. Vollering was 20 seconds behind in second place and Niewiadoma followed in third place as they sprinted to the line. Earlier, Ferrand-Prévôt was with Gigante and a few others when they tackled the mammoth climb up Col de Joux Plane — an 11.6-kilometer grind with a gradient of 8.5%. Gigante is known to have trouble descending at speed and was dropped on the long downhill. She could not make the time up, especially with no teammates to help her, and lost her podium spot, finishing sixth overall. Having won Olympic gold and conquered the cobblestones of the Paris-Roubaix classic, Ferrand-Prévôt added another line to her glittering resumé with a Tour victory, 11 years after winning the world road race title.

Ionescu scores 36, Meesseman has 11 in debut as Liberty beat Sun 87-78 to snap 4-game skid

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (AP) — Sabrina Ionescu scored 36 points, Emma Meesseman had 11 points in her return to the WNBA and the New York Liberty snapped a four-game losing streak with an 87-78 win over the Connecticut Sun on Sunday. Jonquel Jones added 21 points and nine rebounds for the Liberty (18-10), who were without All-Star Breanna Stewart for a fourth-straight game because of a bruised knee. Tina Charles had 17 points and eight rebounds and Anneesah Moorow 16 points and nine rebounds for the the Sun (5-22), who handed the Liberty their worst loss of the season on Friday 78-62. Bria Hartley added 12 points and Marina Mabrey 10. Meesseman, a former finals MVP who last played in the league in 2022 before winning the EuroLeague Women's MVP the last three seasons, did all her damage in the second half. Ionescu had 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season to go with her fifth 30-point game as she finished a point shy of her career best. She also surpassed 1,000 assists, the third-fastest to reach that milestone. Ionescu had 16 points of New York's first 20 and the Liberty scored the last nine of the first quarter to take a 25-19 lead that they never relinquished. She had 20 and Jones 13 for a 45-38 lead at the half. Meesseman got on the scoreboard with a pair of free throws early in the third quarter, and scored seven during a 9-2 surge that saw the Liberty turn a four-point lead into the first double-figure lead of the day, 54-43. New York took a 66-57 lead into the fourth quarter. ___ AP WNBA: The Associated Press

Will Caitlin Clark play today? Indiana Fever vs Dallas Wings

The Indiana Fever (15-12) are back in action on Friday at the Dallas Wings (8-20). The Fever are seeking their fourth win in a row as they travel to the American Airlines Center to battle Paige Bueckers, Arike Ogunbowale and the Wings. Will Caitlin Clark return to action when the Fever do so? Unfortunately, Clark remains sidelined with a right groin injury. This is the 15th regular-season game Clark has missed in 2025 and the 16th overall, including the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final. Meghan Hall of For The Win with USA TODAY Sports shared Clark's injury news on Thursday evening. With Friday night's injury absence, Clark has missed the past six contests for the Fever. Fans last saw Clark in the final minute of the Fever's 85-77 win over the Connecticut Sun on July 15. Clark's injury woes began in the preseason when she missed the team's opening preseason contest with a left leg injury. Then, a left quadriceps strain cost Clark five games from May 28-June 10. That was followed by a left groin injury that sidelined Clark for four regular season games and the WNBA Commissioner's Cup final from June 26-July 5. The Indiana Fever released an official statement on Clark's injury status and on her recovery last Thursday, July 24. "Caitlin Clark underwent further medical evaluations earlier this week, which confirmed that no additional injuries or damage were discovered. "Clark will continue working with the medical team on her recovery and rehabilitation, with the priority on her long-term health and well-being. There is no timetable available for her return," the Fever's statement read. Last Sunday, ESPN's Holly Rowe shared a potential timeline for Clark's return. 'Last time when she came back from injury, she didn't get any practice time (or) any time to ramp up her conditioning. This time, they're going to make sure she has time and practice to get rhythm and time with her teammates. "As you look at their schedule, the third week in August provides a few more practice days where that seems like it's realistic. While she does remain day-to-day, that seems like a better timetable for a possible Caitlin Clark return," Rowe said. Tipoff against the Wings is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on ION.
