Asia Cup 2025 schedule announced: India vs Pakistan to be played on September 14; full match fixture, dates revealed
After the recent geopolitical tensions between Pakistan and India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had threatened to pull out of the ACC general body meeting that was slated to be held in Dhaka on Wednesday, chaired by ACC president and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi. While the BCCI are the designated host, the tournament will be played in a neutral setting in the United Arab Emirates with eight teams in contention. Besides India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh the competition will comprise Hong Kong, UAE and Oman.
India and Pakistan are slated to clash on September 14. The teams last met in an ODI during the Champions Trophy at the same venue, with India beating Pakistan by six wickets on the back of Virat Kohli's century. Their last T20 meeting came during the 2024 T20 World Cup in New York with a Rohit Sharma-led Indian side edging their rivals by six runs.
