Let's find out:
What happened?
A female doctor allegedly threatened to crash an Air India Express flight.
Dr Vyas Hiral Mohanbhai, 36, from Yelahanka, was taken off the flight after the incident, according to The Indian Express.
But what led to the disturbance?
Officials said the trouble began when Dr Mohanbhai asked cabin crew to carry her hand baggage, which she had left near the front row, to her assigned seat at 20F.
When asked about why her bag was placed there, she reportedly became upset.

The situation got worse when she allegedly threatened to 'crash the plane,' leading the cabin crew to inform the pilot.
Despite several attempts by the crew and the pilot to calm her down, she reportedly refused to cooperate. She also shouted at other passengers who tried to speak to her, NDTV reported.
The pilot and crew then called airport security and CISF personnel, who removed her from the aircraft.
According to the complaint, the incident went on from around 2.45 pm to 5.30 pm on June 17.
Police added that her aggressive behaviour continued at the KIA police station, where she allegedly abused and assaulted officers. 'This was the first time we heard such abusive language in the station,' a senior officer told Business Standard.

The Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) police booked Dr Mohanbhai under sections 351(4) (criminal intimidation by anonymous communication) and 353(1)(b) (statements causing public mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and under section 3(1)(a) of the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against Safety of Civil Aviation Act, which covers acts of violence on board that may put the flight's safety at risk.
In a separate case on the same day, Sadaad Mohammad Baba, 22, from Srinagar, reportedly tried to force his way through departure gate 8 at Terminal 1 of the airport. When CISF personnel stopped him, he allegedly pushed a security officer.
Police booked him under sections 132 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 221 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), and 329(2) (criminal trespass) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Karnataka Govt suspends 3 police inspectors for falsely implicating tribal man in wife's murder

The Karnataka Government Sunday suspended three police officers for falsely implicating a tribal man on the charge of killing his wife in the state's Kodagu district in 2021. Kurubara Suresh, 35, a labourer from a tribal community, was arrested in June 2021 for 'killing' his wife, and spent two years in jail. However, later it was found that his wife was alive, and had been living with her boyfriend. The police officers who have been suspended are B G Prakash, Mahesh Kumar, and Prakash Yathinamani, inspectors in Kushalanagar and Yelawala and Jayapura, respectively. Vishnuvardhana N, Superintendent of Police, Mysuru, confirmed to The Indian Express that the officers had been suspended, and an inquiry was pending. Reacting to the suspension order, B S Pandu Poojari, the lawyer who represents Suresh, said they were not satisfied with the suspension order. 'We want the government to initiate criminal proceedings against those accused officials to give justice to the victim,' he added.\ Suresh filed a missing-person complaint at the Kushalnagar Rural Police Station in Kodagu district after his wife, Mallige, went missing in November 2020. He was arrested by the Bettadapura police in Mysuru district on charges of murdering his wife after a woman's skeleton was discovered, leading to his two-year-long incarceration. He was released on bail in September 2024. On April 1 this year, Suresh's friends found out that his wife was alive, and had been with her boyfriend 30 km away from their village. They immediately informed the police. Later, the Mysuru district court directed the police to submit a report. Mallige appeared before the judge, and stated that his wife was alive. The court then ordered the police to drop the charges against Suresh, and remove his name as accused or suspect from the chargesheet. Recently, he also approached the Karnataka High Court seeking Rs 5 crore in compensation after spending nearly 18 months in jail following his wrongful arrest. The police are yet to ascertain the identity of the body, which they discovered in an area under the Bettadapura police limits.

West Bengal alleges Odisha has detained nearly 100 of its migrants claiming they are Bangladeshis

The West Bengal government has alleged that nearly 100 migrant workers from the state have been detained in Odisha and 'sent to detention centres' on suspicion of being Bangladeshis, The Indian Express reported on Monday. In May, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Odisha government launched a statewide operation to identify and deport undocumented Bangladeshi migrants living in the state. Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP and chairman of West Bengal's Migrant Welfare Board Samirul Islam has said that 'top administrative officials and police officers…have reached out to their counterparts in Odisha' regarding the alleged illegal detentions, the newspaper reported. 'But they are not releasing the poor migrant workers,' Islam was quoted as saying on Monday. 'What has happened is unconstitutional'. He added: 'They are Indian citizens and residents of Bengal. They have gone to Odisha for work. But they have been detained and labelled Bangaldeshis. They have been sent to the detention centre. We will bring them home'. The Rajya Sabha MP claimed that this trend is happening in 'state after state under BJP rule'. However, an unidentified Odisha government official told The Indian Express that 'no one is being detained at any police station'. The government is conducting verifications as part of a nationwide exercise in view of the recent developments in the neighbourhood, the official added. 'We are just verifying their identities and are also in touch with West Bengal government,' the newspaper quoted the official as saying. The development comes nearly two weeks after four men from West Bengal, who had been picked up by the Maharashtra Police and 'pushed' into Bangladesh, were brought back on June 15. The Murshidabad Police in West Bengal had presented proof of them being Indian citizens. Over the past month, Indian authorities have been pursuing a policy to push individuals claimed to be undocumented migrants into Bangladesh. India has pushed back more than 2,000 persons into Bangladesh since the country launched ' Operation Sindoor ', a military operation against terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The legality of the 'push back' policy has been debated in India and internationally. Experts have told Scroll that the policy violated India's obligations under international law and customary international law.

Air India Crash: From Fuel Tampering To Security Breach, 7 Sabotage Angles Being Probed, Say Sources

Last Updated: According to top intelligence sources, the rare occurrence of a dual engine failure in the Air India Dreamliner has triggered this comprehensive investigation to eliminate doubts. Indian security agencies are leaving no stone unturned in investigating potential sabotage in the Air India AI 171 crash in Ahmedabad, top intelligence sources have told CNN-News18. The agencies are employing a strategy of prevention through elimination to rule out every possible sabotage scenario, thereby safeguarding aviation infrastructure and deterring future threats. According to top intelligence sources, the thorough investigations will only commence once the black box recordings are decoded by the appointed investigator. CNN-News18 has outlined the various angles being considered by intelligence agencies as they probe the sabotage possibilities. According to top intelligence sources, the rare occurrence of a dual engine failure in the Air India Dreamliner has triggered this comprehensive investigation to eliminate any doubts. 1. Fuel Chain Tampering Among the primary lines of inquiry, sources reveal, is the possibility of fuel chain tampering. The integrity of fuel sourcing, storage, and hydrant systems are under forensic review for any signs of chemical adulteration or deliberate contamination. Ground staff and supplier contracts at Ahmedabad airport are being meticulously scrutinised for any potential infiltration. 2. Maintenance Sabotage & Insider Angle 3. Cyber-Physical Manipulation Another critical angle, according to top intelligence sources, is the potential for cyber-physical manipulation. The Boeing 787 is vulnerable to malware or software interference. Forensic cyber audits are being conducted on engine control units, flight management systems, and ground maintenance terminals to detect any implanted code or command spoofing. 4. Insider Access & Airport Security Breach Security agencies are also investigating any unauthorized access or compromised personnel at the airport. Access logs, biometric trails, and CCTV footage, especially from the pre-flight period, are under review. Any deviations in crew or logistics handling timelines are being closely examined. 5. Targeted Passenger Or Cargo Driven Motive Intelligence sources suggest that the investigation is also looking into targeted passenger or cargo-driven motives. Manifests are being cross-checked for individuals with political, intelligence, or legal sensitivities to determine if the aircraft was a targeted symbolic or strategic goal. 6. External Hand Or Proxy-Actor Involvement Given the aircraft's Indian carrier status, Dreamliner platform, and the mix of Indian and British passengers, agencies are probing the involvement of foreign hostile entities or non-state proxies, considering this incident as a possible demonstration or retaliation stage. 7. Airfield And ATC Interference Finally, agencies are analysing the possibility of airfield and ATC interference. This includes electronic warfare tactics such as GPS spoofing, signal jamming, or compromised ATC instructions. Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol had on Sunday stated that sabotage is one of the key angles being examined in the crash, which claimed 274 lives in Ahmedabad. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is leading a comprehensive investigation into the crash of flight AI 171, considering all potential causes. The tragic crash occurred on June 12, when the London-bound Boeing Dreamliner 787-8 (flight AI 171) plummeted into a residential area shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The aircraft, carrying 242 people, lost altitude around 1:30 PM and crashed into the BJ Medical College residential quarters in Meghaninagar, resulting in a devastating fire. Only one person survived the crash, while nine individuals on the ground also perished. tags : Ahmedabad Plane Crash Location : New Delhi, India, India First Published: June 30, 2025, 09:54 IST News india Air India Crash: From Fuel Tampering To Security Breach, 7 Sabotage Angles Being Probed, Say Sources
