Indiana Fever Star Sends Powerful Message After Earning MVP
Natasha Howard's basketball journey continues to be one of resilience and impact. The 33-year-old Indiana Fever forward has been steadily grinding since entering the league as the fifth overall pick in the 2014 WNBA draft.

On Tuesday, she reminded everyone of her ability. Howard put up 16 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to help the Fever take down the Minnesota Lynx and win the Commissioner's Cup Championship. After the game, she was named the MVP.

'I remember people laughing at me, harassing me on social media, telling me I was washed up and not good enough to win anything. Many of them had no idea how long my resume really is. I can't lie, it bothered me, because I'm someone who puts high expectations on myself so I can be more than enough for the people around me.'
Howard continued with a message about her motivation:
'Even if I don't win anything, I know that by setting the bar high, I'll always remember what I'm working toward. I never want to outshine or be better than anyone. All I've ever wanted, and still want, is to be a winner everywhere I go. I want to make a difference. I want to teach others how to be winners, too.'

She went on to talk about being overlooked and how her faith has guided her:
'I will always be more than enough for my teammates, because that's who God has called me to be. This isn't just basketball to me it's my life.'

The Fever are currently 9-8 as they head into Saturday night's game against the Los Angeles Sparks. Howard has played in all 17 games this season, averaging 11.2 points and 4.9 rebounds. Howard's message, and her play, serve as a reminder that perseverance and belief still go a long way in this league.

BOSTON (AP) — Roman Anthony hit a two-run home run, Ceddanne Rafaela homered for the third straight game and the Boston Red beat the the Colorado Rockies 9-3 on Monday night. Boston rookie Richard Fitts (1-3) allowed five hits, two earned runs and struck out six over 5 2/3 innings to notch his first major league victory. Romy Gonzalez added a solo homer, and Abraham Toro had a two-run double to help Boston post its fourth straight win and seventh in nine games. Rockies starter Austin Gomber (0-2) exited after 4 2/3 innings, yielding five runs and seven hits, including Anthony's homer. Colorado's first run of the game was set up by a throwing error on Boston shortstop Trevor Story. In the sixth inning, the Rockies pulled to 5-3 on a fielder's choice RBI by Michael Toglia and RBI single by Ryan McMahon.
