According to police, Herbert recently got into an argument with his girlfriend during which he allegedly grabbed their pit-mix puppy named Kash by the neck and swung it around 'violently.'
'He then threw the puppy across the room and Kash hit a glass table before falling on floor,' LMPD wrote. 'LMPD responded and noticed the puppy was in need of immediate attention. We rushed the puppy to the Shively Animal Hospital, but it was too late, and the damage was already done. The puppy died before we could get it medical attention.'

There's a warrant issued for Herbert's arrest, and officers ask anyone with information to call the anonymous crime tip hotline (502) 574-LMPD.

BEREA, Ky. (FOX 56) — In just the past week, bears went over the mountains to see what they could see. Whether that be climbing across a fence in Versailles or across the interstate in Berea. Each year, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife gets hundreds of reports of bear sightings. John Hast, the bear and elk coordinator, said they are most common on the eastern border of the state, yet they may be seen just about anywhere. 'Usually, sometime mid-June through July, August, and September, young male bears will kind of roam out of the mountains and end up in the Bluegrass Region,' Hast said. He said it's also not uncommon to see them along the Kentucky River, and some of these bears are Kentucky residents, while others are strolling through. If you're a couple of counties over, maybe towards Danville or up towards Versailles, we had a report in Versailles last week, those are just young bears that are walking through, trying to find some new territory,' Hast said. 'I think the cicadas catch had helped a little bit; bears eat cicadas, so it calmed things down for us a little bit,' Hast said. Police: Man crashes, carjacks vehicle, leads Kentucky troopers on chase
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (FOX 56) — An Illinois man was arrested Sunday after allegedly being chased by Kentucky State Police. According to a news release, Kentucky State Police were responding to a collision with a possible injury on Interstate 65 near mile marker 30. He was allegedly involved in a wreck and later carjacked a black Subaru Forester to drive from the scene, according to the release. Kentucky State Police said Smith was later seen north on US 31 West, but he allegedly ignored the stop and continued until he stopped on the northbound on-ramp to Interstate 65 in Park City. Smith was charged with: Speeding (20 MPH over the speed limit) Reckless driving First-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle) Leaving the scene of an accident—failure to render aid or assistance Carjacking (attempt) TBUT (over $10,000 but less than $1,000,000) Two counts of first-degree criminal mischief Resisting arrest DUI Fourth-degree assault He was lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.
