Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger reacts to Aaron Rodgers inevitably breaking his record
On Wednesday's livestream of the Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger podcast, the Steelers legend acknowledged losing his place to Rodgers — and offered a respectful yet subtle response:
"Aaron's going to pass my all-time passing record this year," Roethlisberger said. "Good. Records are meant to be broken."
Rodgers is primed to surpass not only Roethlisberger's fifth-most all-time passing yards total of 64,088, but also Brett Favre's fourth-most all-time passing touchdowns total of 508.
Earlier in the episode, Roethlisberger paid his respect to Rodgers as one of the best to ever do it in his prime, even taking the four-time MVP at his best over the current version of Patrick Mahomes. While watching another veteran QB take your spot in history — on your longtime team — isn't an easy pill to swallow, it appears to be all love from Big Ben.

UFL's New International Player Showcase Aims to Attract European Athletes
The United Football League is going international, announcing that it will host a player showcase in Switzerland in October in an effort to attract European athletes ready and motivated to compete next season. The showcase offers international players the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in front of UFL officials, coaches and personnel directors, per the UFL's official website, and they'll be evaluated based on their performance to be included in the UFL player pool and for potential free agent opportunities with UFL teams for upcoming seasons. "We are the league of opportunity, and we're expanding that opportunity overseas," said Doug Whaley, the senior vice president of player personnel for the UFL. The UFL will also put on seven showcase events in the United States from September to December in Atlanta, Washington D.C., Dallas, San Diego, Orlando, Phoenix, Houston and Los Angeles. The Zurich showcase will be held on October 5, in between the second (D.C. on September 28) and third (Dallas on October 12) U.S. showcases. [MORE: UFL to NFL Pipeline: Tracking Every UFL Player Signed to a 2025 NFL Roster] The league's announcement comes on the heels of rumors that it's considering expanding from eight to 10 teams for the 2026 season and possibly relocating all four USFL Conference teams (Birmingham Stallions, Michigan Panthers, Houston Roughnecks and Memphis Showboats) to new cities next season. Those new locations are expected to be Florida, Kentucky, Boise and Columbus, according to Sports Illustrated. "We've heard the rumors … and have been assured by the league that no final decisions have been made about numerous teams for next season, including the Stallions," Randall Woodfin, the mayor of Birmingham, said this week. The four XFL Conference teams (Arlington Renegades, DC Defenders, San Antonio Brahmas and St. Louis Battlehawks) aren't rumored to be affected by the potential changes. Building more fan interest in local markets — a stated goal by the league entering this season — remains a work in progress as the UFL heads into a third season. "We are looking at every way to reengage and look at our marketplace in each separate silo as we move forward," Russ Brandon, CEO and president of the UFL, previously said. "We're a great product. … We're trying to activate as much as possible in each of these local markets, and we have a great plan in place, I believe, to do that." The UFL wrapped its second season last month, with Jordan Ta'amu and the Defenders taking down Offensive Player of the Year and regular-season MVP Bryce Perkins and the Panthers in the 2025 UFL Championship Game, 58-34. Season tickets for the 2026 season are already on sale. The 2026 UFL schedule — which will feature a 10-week regular season followed by a two-week postseason, including the 2026 title game — will be announced at a later date. Texas A&M's 2025 wide receiver rotation is built on speed and quickness, which should result in consistent separation in coverage after head coach Mike Elko and his staff landed KC Concepcion (NC State), Mario Craver (Mississippi State), and Jonah Wilson (Houston) from the transfer portal, while 2025 signees TK Norman, Kelshaun Johnson and five-star Jerome Myles represent the future rotation. However, after missing a majority of his senior high school season in Draper, Utah due to a knee injury, Jerome Myles is back and 100% healthy with an eye on contributing at a high level during the 2025 season, bringing his notable size at 6'2" and 220 pounds and speed that fits what Elko and OC Collin Klein are looking for to fill the void left by junior Noah Thomas, who transferred to Georgia this offseason. Steelers announce Ben Roethlisberger, Joey Porter, Maurkice Pouncey to join Hall of Honor
The Pittsburgh Steelers are honoring three core members of the organization this December. The team will induct quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, center Maurkice Pouncey and linebacker Joey Porter into the Steelers Hall of Honor as part of the Class of 2025. Roethlisberger, who was under center for the Steelers from 2004 to 2021, spent more than a decade as the face of the franchise. The six-time Pro Bowler led Pittsburgh to two Super Bowls, in 2006 and 2009. Roethlisberger will be inducted alongside Pouncey, his longtime center from 2010 to 2020. Porter, who played for the Steelers from 1999-2006, played with Roethlisberger for the team's Super Bowl XL win. The inductees will be celebrated with an on-field ceremony on Dec. 15, as Pittsburgh hosts the Miami Dolphins for Monday Night Football. Longtime Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, who coached both Roethlisberger and Pouncey, congratulated the trio in a video posted to social media, calling them "a small and really special group." "I can't wait to have you guys back," Tomlin said. "Well deserved." Porter's son, Joey Porter Jr., also took to social media to congratulate his father. Porter Jr., a cornerback, was selected by the Steelers in the 2023 draft, and has spent the past three years with the team. "Shout out to my dad for being a part of this year's class. It was an honor and a privilege to watch you play throughout your career, and see you put on for Steeler Nation," Porter Jr. said. "Thank you for showing me what it means to be a Steeler." The Steelers Hall of Honor, which was established in 2017, has honored players, coaches and contributors every year. Roethlisberger, Pouncey and Porter will join the 58 people who have already been inducted into the hall over the past eight years. In order to be recognized, former players must have been retired for at least three seasons and have to have played for the team for at least three seasons. (As a result, this is the first year that Roethlisberger could be honored.) Former coaches and contributors had to have made "significant contributions to the team and community." Three members of the Rooney family, who own the team, are in the Hall of Honor, including team founder Art Rooney Sr.
