Next PlayStation State Of Play Coming Soon And Is All About Ghost Of Yotei

Yahoo10 hours ago
PlayStation's next big State of Play has been announced, and you won't have to wait long to watch. The event will go live on July 10 and will be dedicated to Sucker Punch's upcoming open-world action game Ghost of Yotei.
On July 8, Sony announced that, with under 100 days to go until the launch of Ghost of Yotei, this week would be the perfect time to unveil new gameplay and take a deep dive into the PlayStation 5 exclusive. The sequel to 2020's fantastic open-world samurai adventure Ghost of Tsushimais set to arrive on PS5 in October. But before then, we'll get to see around 20 minutes of it running later this week.
What Sony is calling a 'gameplay deep dive' into Ghost of Yotei will start on PlayStation's official Twitch and YouTube channels on July 10 at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET / 10 pm BST / 11 pm CEST. Set your reminders now.
Here's what Sony says you can expect:
Our State of Play features nearly 20 minutes of Ghost of Yōtei gameplay hosted by Sucker Punch's Creative Directors, Jason Connell and Nate Fox. Beyond sharing more about Atsu's quest for vengeance, we're excited to show off her new weapons, new ways to personalize your journey at the edge of Japan, new special modes, and much more.
As a big fan of Ghost of Tsushima, I'm very excited to see more of Yotei. This is likely to be one of the biggest PS5 games of the year. I'm also pumped to see how this game pushes my PlayStation 5 Pro. Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima ran like a dream on PS4, and then got a PS5 patch and ran even better and faster on the new console. I expect Yotei will also look stunning on PS5 Pro, as well as the base machine. I guess we'll find out later this week.

aespa's Karina apologises again for red jacket blunder

8 Jul - aespa's Karina recently addressed the election outfit blunder that occurred two months ago, and again apologised for the mistake that she has made. The singer spoke about the controversy on an interview with Jung Jae-hyung on his YouTube show, saying that she felt sorry for causing fans to worry about her. "I was with the staff [from the agency] and we posted the pictures wearing the jacket because it was cold outside and I wanted to communicate with the fans. We deleted the post after I got a call about it. I realised that I had been ignorant," she said. It is noted that Karina received a backlash back in May after she broke the unwritten "no colour or hand gestures" rule for K-Pop idols during the election seasons by wearing a black jacket with red patterns and the number two on the right side of her chest. She also captioned it with a red rose emoji. The backlash was quick, with many accusing her of showing support for the conservative candidate Kim Moon-soo, who is represented by the colour red and the number 2 on the ballot. "It was something that I should have paid attention to. I thought I really need to be more aware and study more. I really was ignorant," she said. Karina said that at the same time, she felt very guilty because the rest of aespa were also affected by the controversy. (Photo Source: Karina IG, Korea Times)

The Entire Run of ‘Squid Game' Is Currently Dominating Netflix Ratings

Squid Game's three seasons in order of fan preference? Season one was easily the best. Season two brought mixed results. And season three is nobody's favorite. But that doesn't mean people aren't still binging as if 45.6 billion won depended on it. The streamer's latest ratings chart has Squid Game season three in the top slot; no surprise there. But the other seasons have climbed back up the global top 10 of non-English shows, with 2024's season two at number two and 2021's season one at number three. You can assume some folks wanted to watch or re-watch the first two seasons ahead of the latest (and final, at least we think it's the final) installment. That makes sense, especially since two and three are a continuous story that was divided across two seasons. Maybe, after watching season three and feeling some disappointment, fans also wanted to revisit season one and remember the thrills of that first gruesome round of 'Red Light, Green Light.' And, reviews be damned, but according to a Netflix press release, Squid Game season three, the show's shortest entry at just over six total hours, 'is now Netflix's third-biggest show ever through two weeks, with 106.3 million global views.' In the week of June 30-July 6, season two notched 4.9 million views; season one had 3.8 million views. Squid Game can add another jewel to its crown with this achievement, as it's now 'the third show ever to claim the top 3 spots in a single week, after Stranger Things and Money Heist, and the first since 2022.' What does this mean for Squid Game's future? It bodes well for that American version that David Fincher is working on, which apparently has no known connection to that Hollywood cameo at the end of season three. Might this success give Netflix leverage to ask original series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk to step back in the ring for another round, as the streamer apparently did after season one? If the latter happens, here's hoping nothing gets rushed into production. Like it or hate it, that season three ending did tie up the major storylines for the (very few) surviving characters—and literally blow up the island where the games were being played—so starting from scratch would be necessary, unless Hwang decides to tell a story that spins off or is set between the existing seasons, as he's hinted he might be open to doing. Lizzo Says This Macronutrient Is 'The Secret To Happiness'

Reinvention doesn't come without effort. Just ask Women's Health's summer issue cover star Lizzo. In a candid interview with writer Jessica Herndon, the 37-year-old artist details the big life changes she's made over the past couple of years to find inner peace (can you say social media cleanse!?) and heal her body. Lizzo had long been plagued by radiating back pain, a result of damaged discs from pressure caused by her weight. And while she'd always been proud of her size, Lizzo knew she had to make some changes in order to find relief from the debilitating pain. As she puts it: "Body positivity has nothing to do with staying the same." In addition to enlisting the services of Kelly Rowland's personal trainer Marvin Telp to create a consistent workout regimen, Lizzo also revamped her diet—one she shares with WH in the latest installment of our video series Fuel Like. "My relationship with eating has evolved so much," she says. "There have been times where I have undernourished myself; there have been times where I was bingeing. When I intuitively eat and listen to my body, that always works out for me." Part of her intuitive eating plan has included reincorporating meat into her diet following her decision to go vegan in 2020. After experiencing periods of low energy and stomach pains, her trainer recommended she try a Japanese diet. A trip to Japan was the tipping point Lizzo needed to give meat another try. As she recalls thinking: "Let's put our toe in the water with a country whose food I know is very, very clean." The result? "I felt incredible," Lizzo says. "When I got back to the States, I started to slowly introduce animal proteins into my diet, and here we are today." Protein is just one component of the eating routine that fuels Lizzo. She's also quick to sing the praises of another macronutrient: carbs. "Your body loves carbs," she enthuses. "Carbs are the secret to happiness!" Find out how Lizzo incorporates protein and carbs into breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks(!) by watching the latest installment of Fuel Like.
