Andhra Minister Nara Lokesh to meet with Union Ministers in Delhi today
According to the state minister's itinerary, today he will be meeting with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar at 10:30 AM, while at 2 PM he will meet with Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan, at 4:30 PM with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, followed by a meeting at 5:30 PM with Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the Andhra minister will be meeting with Union Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in the morning and later on will be meeting former United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Earlier on June 16, intending to help students get better coaching for exams, the Andhra Pradesh government announced that over 1 lakh students across over a 1,300 government junior colleges will be provided with free study material and free coaching for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
'Proud to launch a transformative initiative under the Andhra Pradesh Model of Education-- providing free JEE & NEET coaching along with expertly curated study material to 1 lakh+ students across 1,355 govt junior colleges,' Nara Lokesh wrote in a post on X.
Underlining the policy ensuring that every child has a Right to Education, Lokesh added, 'Quality education is every child's right, not a privilege. This model gives every student in Andhra Pradesh a fair chance to dream big and achieve bigger.'
His post added, 'For the first time in India, a state government is delivering IIT/NEET-level academic support within the public education system -- bridging the gap between rural talent and national aspirations. Students in MPC & BiPC streams will now receive daily coaching, extended learning hours, structured tests, and tracked academic progress -- just like in elite private institutions.' (ANI)

TMC differs from Oppn line, wants debate on SIR first
NEW DELHI: As both Houses of Parliament are set to take up a debate on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor early next week, the INDIA bloc ally Trinamool Congress (TMC) has taken a divergent stand by insisting that a debate on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar be taken up first. The government has agreed to discuss Operation Sindoor for 16 hours in the Lok Sabha on Monday. It will come up for discussion in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. According to TMC sources, the party raised the demand in the first meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. However, the government did not pay heed to the demand, said a leader. Incidentally, it was the first BAC meeting which was held after Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation. The leader further said that the party may even abstain from the debate on Operation Sindoor and Pahalgam if the government ignores their demand. In the meeting, the government was non-committal on the Opposition's demand for a debate on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar. Although the other INDIA bloc members had earlier wanted the discussion on Operation Sindoor to be held immediately, the government said that debate would be possible only after Prime Minister Modi's return from a two-nation visit on June 26. While the other INDIA bloc partners have agreed with the government on the debate on Operation Sindoor, the TMC feels that SIR must be given priority, as it will have devastating effects on voting rights and citizenship of citizens. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has been demanding roll back of the revision. TDP MPs urge Centre to supply adequate urea
Guntur: TDP Parliamentary Party leader and Narasaraopet MP Lavu Krishnadevarayalu, along with MPs Kalisetti Appalanaidu and Tenneti Krishna Prasad, met Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Jagat Prakash Nadda on Thursday in Delhi and submitted a representation seeking immediate redressal of the urea shortage crisis in Andhra Pradesh. During the meeting, MP Krishnadevarayalu sought the Centre's support for the dissemination of urea in adequate, required amounts for the state farmers. In the letter submitted he mentioned, as per the July 2025 Kharif supply plan, the Department of Fertilizers had allocated 1,30,000 metric tonnes (MTs) of urea to Andhra Pradesh. However, by 18th July, only 49,485 MTs had reached the state, including material in transit, leaving a shortfall of 80,515 MTs. He said over 1.16 lakh hectares are under paddy cultivation, and major kharif crops such as groundnut, red gram, cotton, and maize are being sown across 8.21 lakh hectares. The resulting demand-supply mismatch has led to panic buying and market pressure on urea availability. They requested to allot 10,000 MTs from M/s KRIBHCO from their Hazira and Tuticorin port plants, increase the allocation from M/s CIL's vessel expected at Krishnapatnam port from 2,400 MTs to 10,000 MTs, ensure timely delivery of upcoming shipments by M/s CIL in line with the supply plan, allocating 11,000 MTs from the MV MAGDA P vessel of M/s IPL expected at Gangavaram port on 20th July, providing 5,000 MTs from leftover RFCL stock arriving via M/s NFL at Gangavaram port.

Sita temple plan on Shah's Bihar visit agenda on August 8
PATNA: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Bihar's Sitamarhi district on August 8 to lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of the Janki temple at Punaura Dham, the mythological birthplace of Goddess Sita. Shah will address a public meeting during his visit. His visit is part of the BJP's strategy to consolidate its political base ahead of the Assembly elections, especially in the Mithila region. CM Nitish Kumar has also assured the state government's full support in developing Punaura Dham as a religious and tourist destination. Political observers suggest that the timing and the scale of the proposed visit of Shah underscore the BJP's attempt to emotionally engage Maithil communities, including Brahmins, Kayasthas, Vaishyas, and the upper-middle classes, through cultural nationalism. The BJP aims to influence 20-25 Assembly seats in the region by addressing the redevelopment issue. The region has a mixed population of Yadav, Muslim, Kushwaha, Dalit and EBC voters. The redevelopment of Punaura Dham is expected to mirror the scale and symbolism of the Ram temple at Ayodhya.
