EXTRA TV CHANNELS
Sky has loads of channels, and it seems like the TV guide is always being refresh with new ones.
But if you want a quick update, try Xumo Play.
I tried it out as part of my free TV apps test just last month, and I was pretty impressed.
You can find it in the apps section of your Sky TV, and you'll be watching free telly in seconds.
It has dozens of channels – more than 70 in the UK – plus thousands of movies and TV episodes.
It's packed with a decent selection of reality TV and sports content too.
You don't even need to sign up: just tap on the app and away you go.
HIDDEN TV FOLDER
The ability to record live TV and watch it later is one of the best things about Sky.
But sometimes, you delete a show because you're running low on space or you don't think you care anymore – only to regret it later.
Or worse, someone else in the house deletes your show. Not good.
Sky insider reveals little-known voice tricks for your TV - including hack to NEVER lose the remote
Thankfully, it turns out that your Sky box maintains a special folder packed with all of these "lost" TV shows and movies.
It turns out that when you delete a show, it's not really gone – it's just tucked away in the folder.
Just go to your Sky Planner, head into Recordings, go to Manage, and then choose Deleted.
It's here that you'll be able to restore content back to your Recordings folder if it's been deleted.

And you can also use this Deleted folder to properly bin stuff from your Sky stuff.
That's how you can free up storage space: until it's gone from Deleted, it's still taking up space on your Sky box.
SKIP ADS
If you're watching live TV, there's no way to skip past an ad.
That would involve travelling into the future, and if you can do that, you shouldn't be wasting your time watching TV.

What you can do is skip past ads in recorded content, but normally that involves holding the fast-forward button down. That's a pain.
Instead, grab your Sky remote and hit the microphone button.
Then simply ask your Sky TV to "skip forward three minutes" and you'll instantly move past the ad break.
It's an easy way to skip them if you're short on time and don't want to spend an age manually "scrubbing" through the content.

Strictly star speaks out on disturbing new drama likened to Netflix's Adolescence
Strictly star speaks out on disturbing new drama likened to Netflix's Adolescence EXCLUSIVE: The Strictly star detailed her recent drama with similar themes to Netflix's Adolescence. Alexandra Burke stars in Curfew (Image: Paramount Plus ) Alexandra Burke, who was a finalist on Strictly Come Dancing 2017, lifted the lid on her recent drama that has comparable themes to Netflix's hit drama, Adolescence. The singer spoke about Curfew, which also examines gender dynamics and male rage, in an interview with Reach Screen Time on the National Film Awards red carpet. Paramount+ drama Curfew is set in an alternative universe where men are not allowed to go outside between the hours of 7pm and 7am. Discussing the intriguing premise, Alexandra said: 'For women, it's a talking point.' Asked if any part of her would like to live in that world, she explained: 'I don't think it would work. The premise is amazing and it's a real conversation starter, but I don't think it is the answer in the real world because not everyone is the same. Members can watch live and on-demand TV content without a satellite dish, including hit shows like The Last of Us, Black Mirror and all WWE programming. 'However, how can we make women feel safer? What can be done to make women feel safer?' she pondered. 'I don't know what the answer is, but it's a conversation that needs to be ongoing because it's unfair on women to have to walk around knowing they've got to watch their back. All that stuff that we have all felt at some point in our lives. 'And it's not something we should feel; we should feel safe. What is the answer? I don't know, but it's definitely not locking men up,' she concluded. Asked about Netflix hit Adolescence, which made waves earlier this year as it explored the theme of toxic masculinity and the dangers it can present, Alexandra spoke about the importance of art highlighting issues in current society. She said: 'I just think when people, producers and directors come together, and they make TV dramas or movies that are talking points that people can actually get into and start a debate, I think that's healthy. 'Because I feel that the world needs things that are realistic out there in order to stay attuned, and Curfew is definitely one of those,' she added in reference to her 2024 show. The show also examines gender dynamics and male rage (Image: Paramount Plus ) Get Paramount+ free for a week This article contains affiliate links, we will receive a commission on any sales we generate from it. But in a world where men are bound by a curfew from 7pm to 7am, her theory is rejected.' Meanwhile, Adolescence tells the shocking story of a 13-year-old boy accused of murdering a classmate.
