Amad Diallo insists Man United fans will need to be 'patient' this season and reveals expectation for Red Devils - as he looks forward to playing alongside £70m Bryan Mbeumo
'I think they have to be patient with us,' said Amad. 'There's a new manager, with new players and new tactics. We know last season wasn't really good for the team, but I think this season we will win a lot with him (Ruben Amorim) and I hope this season that we are going to achieve a lot of good things by the end of the season,' the 23-year-old added.
Pressed on what would be a good season, Amad insisted that qualification for the Champions League would be a success for United. 'A good season will be top five. I hope we can achieve top five at the end of the season,' he said.
Matheus Cunha made his debut for United in a pre-season friendly against Leeds on Saturday, after making a £62.5m move from Wolves while Bryan Mbeumo is also set to join Amorim's side after a deal with Brentford was agreed, worth in excess of £70m.
Asked about Cunha, Amad said: 'He's a good player - we need good players in the team and he'll bring a lot to the team. I hope he can give us some different things. Especially last season, we missed a lot of good players in the final third. He (Cunha) scored a lot of goals last season, so I just wish him all the best.'
On Mbeumo, Amad added: 'Of course I'm looking forward to playing with him. We need good players in the team who can bring something to the final third. We are really excited to have them in the team and I hope that together we can give something to the fans at the end of the season because they deserve it.'
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford is in talks with Barcelona over a potential loan move but Amad refused to discuss the situation.
'The only thing I can say is good luck to him, but I'm more focused on United and my team,' the Ivorian said.
Alejandro Garnacho, another one of Amad's teammates, is also heading out of Old Trafford with Amorim insisting that the 21-year-old is not part of his plans.
'I think this is not really my problem,' said Amad, when asked about Garnacho. 'The only thing I'm thinking right now is how we will learn together as a team.'
United will now head to America for three games as part of the Premier League Summer Series.

‘We may be close to next step' – Alexander Isak's agent breaks silence on Newcastle star's future amid transfer interest
THE Newcastle striker's agent has been speaking to Saudi press about his client's "next step" time to fly? The much-loved Magpies star has garnered interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool, as well as Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal this summer, leading him to miss the 4-0 pre-season defeat to Celtic. Last week, Sun Sport exclusively reported the Magpies would not sell Isak, even if he wanted to talk to Liverpool about a British transfer record fee. Now, his agent has revealed 'all options' are being analysed this summer, and that an outcome may be finalised soon. Gonzalo Gaitan told Saudi Arabian newspaper Arriyadiyah: 'We are indeed studying and analysing all options, and we may be close to finalising the next step for the player. Liverpool's hopes of signing Isak were boosted after the Sweden international wasn't offered a new deal by his current club. The Premier League champions have hijacked Newcastle's swoop to bring in Hugo Ekitike from Frankfurt to partner him, too. Should Isak move to Anfield, his transfer fee would surpass the British transfer record, currently held by Florian Wirtz who signed for the Reds for £116million this summer. According to L'Equipe, the club have already started talks with the Swede's entourage who have agreed to listen to their proposition. Last week, Magpies boss Howe revealed he sent Isak home before their defeat to Celtic amid the speculation surrounding his striker. However, he said he remains 'confident' the Swede will stay at the club. 3 Isak has been a hit since signing from Real Sociedad He said: 'I chose to send him home. 'The last thing Alex wants if he is not playing is to be sat in the stand and under that scrutiny, then if he wasn't going to play today, we mutually agreed he shouldn't be here. 'It was my decision. He travelled back to Glasgow with us, but I decided to send him home due to the speculation around him. Both [Joelinton and Isak] are fit but not ready to play. Alex has trained and is fine but we didn't want to take the risk with him.' Howe added: 'I think it's difficult for me to ever give 100 per cent clarity on any player, I'd never do that. 'All I can say is Alex is happy at Newcastle, he loves the players, the staff, the team. 'I've never had any issue with him and I'm confident he's going to be here at the start of the season.' Isak has three years remaining on his current deal at St James' Park.

Exeter hope to add more attacking talent
Exeter City manager Gary Caldwell says he is still hoping to add some more attacking options to his squad before the season starts. Caldwell has already brought in Reading forward Jayden Wareham on a permanent deal, while teenager Kieran Wilson signed his first professional contract and has featured in pre-season. City have also kept the bulk of their attacking talent from last season, such as Sonny Cox, Josh Magennis and Jack Aitchison."We're always looking to strengthen," Caldwell told BBC Radio Devon after his side's 4-1 pre-season win at FC United of Manchester. "We have one loan space still still available that we'll look to bring in, hopefully before the start of the season - we're still looking for two or three others on top of that."Probably the attacking areas to give us a bit more speed and threat and areas higher up the pitch would be an area I think we can get better." On-loan Brentford youngster Ethan Brierley scored one and supplied an assist for another goal in the win at FC 21-year-old has joined the Grecians on a season-long deal and Caldwell has been impressed with what he has seen so far from him."It's great for any player that's coming into a new club to get a goal and to get an assist because I think that builds confidence," he said."I think you can see the quality that he has."We've got a great relationship with Brentford and he's a player we've watched for a number of years and I think now is the time for him to go and show how good a player he is at League One level."
