Indian student left battered in shocking street assault
According to reports, five men emerged from another vehicle and allegedly began shouting racial slurs before launching into a violent assault. Singh was punched, stomped, and struck with what appeared to be metal knuckles or sharp weapons. Eyewitnesses and CCTV footage suggest the attackers used racist language, reportedly yelling, 'F--- off, Indian,' before beating him.
'You can change anything... but not your colour'
Speaking from his hospital bed, Singh recounted how a petty parking dispute escalated into an attack that seemed fuelled by hate. He shared how helpless he felt hearing the slurs thrown at him before the fists began flying. 'You can change anything in your body, but you can't change the colours,' he said, visibly shaken by the trauma.
The brutal assault resulted in multiple facial fractures and suspected brain trauma. Singh was swiftly rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he remains under medical care. His injuries and words have struck a chord across the Indian diaspora in Australia, with many expressing fear and frustration over repeated acts of racial violence.
Police launch investigation, one attacker charged
South Australia Police responded to the scene shortly before 9:30 pm and confirmed Singh was found with visible facial injuries. A 20-year-old male suspect from Enfield has since been arrested and charged with assault causing harm. Investigations are ongoing, with CCTV footage being examined and appeals made for more witnesses to come forward.
Premier Peter Malinauskas publicly condemned the attack, stressing that racism and violence have no place in the state. 'This kind of behaviour is completely unwelcome,' he stated, calling the incident 'deeply disturbing.'
A chilling trend of racist attacks on Indians abroad
This horrifying incident in Adelaide mirrors another attack the same day in Dublin, Ireland, where an Indian man in his 40s was hospitalised after being assaulted by a group of teenagers hurling false accusations and racist abuse. These incidents have reignited a growing conversation about racial safety for Indians abroad, especially international students.

Delhi Police Ban Sub-Conventional Aerial Platforms Ahead Of Independence Day
New Delhi: Delhi Police Commissioner SBK Singh on Saturday ordered a ban on sub-conventional aerial platforms across the national capital from August 2 to August 16 in view of security preparations related to the upcoming Independence Day. According to the order, flying aerial devices such as paragliders, para-motors, hang-gliders, UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), UASs (Unmanned Aircraft Systems), microlight aircraft, hot air balloons, small-sized powered aircraft, quadcopters, and remotely piloted aircraft has been banned under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. The order said that such aerial platforms may pose a threat to public safety, VIPs, and critical installations in Delhi during the sensitive period around August 15. This is Singh's first order as the new Delhi Police Commissioner. The ban is aimed at preventing their possible misuse by anti-social and terrorist elements, including for para-jumping or launching airborne attacks. The prohibition will remain in force for 15 days, starting from August 2 and ending on August 16, unless withdrawn earlier, the order said. Security agencies are already on high alert across the capital as preparations for the 78th Independence Day event at the Red Fort are underway.

Arrested Bangladesh model's visa expired in 2021: Kolkata Cops
Kolkata: The Bangladeshi model, Shanta Pal, who was recently arrested from a rented accommodation in Bikramgarh, had established an elaborate network of businesses and acquired multiple Indian documents after her visa expired in 2021, cops said. She operated these businesses with her husband — an Andhra Pradesh man — whom she allegedly married online, an officer said. The foreign ministry has also confirmed Pal's visa expiration to Lalbazar. This has raised concerns regarding the Foreigners Regional Registration Office's oversight mechanisms. Pal operated a car rental service and made property transactions, among other businesses. She was trying to set up a guest house in New Alipore and had applied for loan. Cops said her marriage certificate was under lens. Pal claimed her only source of income was from social media. 'Arrest Mohan Bhagwat': Ex-ATS Officer Drops Bombshell On Fake Saffron Terror Plot | Malegaon Blast In a staggering twist, a retired ATS officer has shaken the political landscape by claiming he was instructed to arrest RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat during the 2008 Malegaon blast probe. Speaking after the acquittal of all accused, including BJP MP Pragya Thakur, ex-Inspector Mehiboob Mujawar alleged that the saffron terror narrative was a fabrication, driven by political pressure. He described the directives as "horrific" and claims he refused to follow them, leading to his career's destruction via a false case. His allegations bring the focus sharply back to the credibility of terror investigations under UPA, and raise serious questions about the weaponisation of law enforcement. Opposition parties are now demanding answers, warning that faith in national security agencies is at risk. With claims of planted evidence, suppressed truths, and institutional vendetta, this case has reignited the saffron vs secular firestorm in Indian politics, and it's far from over.#malegaonblastcase, #mohanbhagwat, #mehiboobmujawar, #rsschiefcontroversy, #saffronterordebate, #pragyasinghthakur, #ltcolpurohit, #niacourtverdict, #faketerrorcharges, #atsinvestigation, #maharashtraats, #politicalvendetta, #antirssnarrative, #bjpvscongress, #indianjudiciary, #falseterrorcases, #nationalinvestigationagency, #indianpolitics, #judicialacquittal, #malegaoncaseacquittal, #hindutvanarrative, #2008malegaonblast #breakingnews #trending #bharat #toi #toibharat #indianews 2.8K views | 1 day ago
