Jimmy John's S.M.U.T. menu isn't sticking around for long, and neither is access to the exclusive audiobooks narrated by the heartthrob.
To unlock the series, customers must be a rewards member or join Jimmy John's Freaky Fast Rewards before purchasing. Then, while logged into their account, fans can use promo code BEACHREAD before checking out to receive part one of the audiobook series via email on July 1–but only on orders made between June 23 and June 29.
To receive part two, rewards members must order another qualifying sub from Jimmy John's S.M.U.T. online between July 1 and July 6. A bit complicated, but the company promises the sandwiches and the story will be so good, "you'll want to come back for seconds."

96th annual Millville Fireman's Carnival begins Friday

MILLVILLE, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Honoring local traditions, all while having fun at the carnival. A Columbia County staple is making its return for its 96th year. 28/22 News learned the history of Millville's annual event and how it supports its volunteer fire company. A polished, new fire engine sits at the Millville Community Park in Columbia County. 'We got it delivered last week, and it was put in service on Friday,' said Captain at the Millville Community Fire Company Connor Dewald. The cost of the truck, a pretty penny, totaling over half a million dollars. Replacing its last truck from 1991, fire crews say the crucial purchase was made possible by its annual Millville Fireman's Carnival. 'We have smaller fundraisers throughout the year, but this is it, so it's monumental in purchasing engines like that and the rest of our equipment,' explained Dewald. The eight-day event begins Friday, and due to the sweltering temperatures our area has seen, set up started early. 'We've been trying, it's rough but we are ahead of the game right now…like they say, many hands make easy work or less work and everybody has come together this year to get everything done,' said the president of the Millville Community Fire Company, Jon Brown. 3 displaced, firefighters brave the heat in Nanticoke fire Staples at the carnival include its caramel corn stand. 'This man who used to work here, his name was Moe, and he was just a really important part of the process that happened here, so every time we dump the caramel into the popcorn, you yell, 'Hey Moe!'' explained volunteer Hunter Lingafelt. Nearly a decade of memories and one-of-a-kind rides, like its carousel dating back to the 1930s. 'They're all hand-carved out of New York. The music box came from Tonawanda, New York, so it's not something you're going to find tomorrow,' said chairman of the Millville Fireman's Carnival, Jim Brown. All the carnival fun is at an affordable price. The train ride only costs three tickets, that's just $1.50. Running through the Fourth of July, specialty shirts are also being sold to benefit the company, and ring in the area's 125th annual parade. 'I love the sense of community and being able to talk to all of these people year after year, but it's just pure fun!' said Melody Noss, volunteer. The eight-day carnival kicks off in Millville on Friday at 6 p.m. You can purchase a 125th anniversary parade day shirt. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Carnival Cruise Line shares update on loyalty program

Carnival Cruise Line probably did not expect the level of anger its new loyalty program caused with its passengers. The cruise line shared a program that eliminated lifetime loyalty levels that was based on dollars spent, not nights stayed. Many cruisers saw that as a money grab. Related: Carnival Cruise Line suddenly cancels sailing Others were simply crushed that they had spent years, decades in some cases, building up loyalty status only for the new program to not recognize that. Carnival Brand Ambassador John Heald had no say in creating the new program. He has, however, spent most of his time answering questions about it since it was released and he admits he does not have all the answer. Heald also has shared that the Beards, his term for Carnival leadership, will be examining the program. He recently shared a letter to explain everything he knows and what's happening next. Heald shared a letter on his popular Facebook page on June 26: Heald may not have all the answers, but he remains an ally to Carnival passengers. He serves as their link to upper management and he takes that job very seriously. In addition, Heald deals with near-endless insults, often over things he has no control over. Sign up for the Come Cruise With Me newsletter to save money on your next (or your first) cruise. Over 1,500 people commented on Heald's post. Many were kind to him, but angry about the changes. "Booked my first Royal cruise for next year. It's not bye bye permanently,I just am now open to trying all lines," Helena Hall wrote. Rene Chapman was more harsh. "Carnival said 'you get what you get and you'll be happy about it,'" she wrote. Not everyone was kind to Heald. "I dont like that you keep saying a year, as if hoping we will forget. Almost makes me think the Beards want us to forget about it completely, posted Baxter DeBerry. Beth Sanders Young wants to believe the company will do the right thing in the end. "I think many of us are holding our breath hoping that the beards have realized how a big chunk of the loyal customer base feels about this and they are busy revamping it so that it remains a 'loyalty' program with an added rewards program for those who can spend the big bucks (or at the very least grandfathering us in). Most of us are grateful for you and what you do everyday, even when the going gets tough," she wrote. (The Arena Group will earn a commission if you book a cruise.)
