Mickey Moniak, Antonio Senzatela lead Rockies past D-backs
Senzatela (3-10) allowed a pair of runs over 5 1/3 innings to earn the win for the second straight start. Senzatela had gone nine games (eight starts) without a win before beating Washington on Tuesday night.
Seth Halvorsen got the final three outs to pick up his sixth save. He was the last of five pitchers that held Arizona to five hits.
Randal Grichuk had two hits and Josh Naylor scored both runs for the D-backs on his 28th birthday. Arizona had its three-game winning streak snapped and managed just two runs after scoring 19 over the first two games of the series.
The D-backs had a season-high 21 hits on Friday night and 10 more Saturday night but were held to one extra-base hit on Sunday.
They threatened in the ninth when Grichuk hit a two-out double off the wall in right, but Halvorsen got pinch hitter Ketel Marte to fly out to end the game.
Arizona took the lead in the second when Naylor walked, Eugenio Suarez doubled and Grichuk hit a sacrifice fly. Grichuk helped extend the lead in the fourth as Naylor hit a one-out single, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on Grichuk's single.
Brandon Pfaadt held Colorado to two singles through four innings but was hit hard in the fifth.
Brenton Doyle, Kyle Farmer and Braxton Fulford led off with consecutive singles to make it 2-1. Pfaadt retired the next two batters before Moniak followed with a home run just inside the foul pole in right field to put the Rockies in front. It was Moniak's 11th of the season and sixth over his last 11 games.
Pfaadt (8-5) walked Jordan Beck but got out of the inning to end his day. He allowed four runs on six hits and struck out seven over five innings.

July 12 - Adolis Garcia and Wyatt Langford clubbed home runs while Jack Leiter pitched effectively into the sixth inning as the visiting Texas Rangers banged out a 7-3 victory over the suddenly reeling Houston Astros on Friday in the opener of a three-game series. The Rangers improved to 4-4 on their season-long, 10-game homestand. They did so by pouncing on Astros right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. (2-4), who continued to struggle with inconsistency following his return from a two-season injury absence. McCullers labored through a 36-pitch top of the first inning and never fully recovered. Langford extended the opening frame with an infield single that loaded the bases with two outs and set the table for Evan Carter, whose two-run single got the Rangers on the board. Carter claimed he was hit by a McCullers pitch earlier in that same at-bat, but Texas lost its replay challenge. After limiting the damage to a pair of runs in the first and working around a one-out walk in the second, McCullers came undone in the third. Sean Murphy goes yard twice, Braves stave off Cardinals
July 12 - Sean Murphy hit two homers and drove in three runs as the visiting Atlanta Braves edged the St. Louis Cardinals 6-5 Friday night. Ronald Acuna Jr. went 3-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run for the Braves. Atlanta third baseman Austin Riley went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run before departing the game in the fourth inning due to lower abdominal tightness. Braves starter Grant Holmes allowed five runs on nine hits in three innings. Five Atlanta relievers combined to blank the Cardinals for the last six innings. Enyel De Los Santos (3-2) earned the victory and Raisel Iglesias earned his 10th save. Pedro Pages drove in two runs for the Cardinals and Alec Burleson hit two doubles, scored twice and drove in a run. Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado exited after six innings due to a sprained right index finger.
