Colorado (21-69) avoided a three-game sweep Sunday against the White Sox (30-60). The Rockies defeated Chicago, 6-4, at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado. Former Tennessee baseball pitcher Seth Halvorsen earned his eighth save of the season for the Rockies. He pitched one inning and allowed one walk. Halvorsen totaled 12 pitches, including six strikes, against four batters in the ninth inning. He totaled one called strike, one swinging strike, one foul ball strike and three in-play strikes against Chicago. The former Vol also had one strike on a first pitch to a batter. In 36 games for Colorado in 2025, Halvorsen (1-2) has recorded 32 strikeouts in 35.2 innings pitched. He was selected by Colorado in the seventh-round (No. 202 overall) of the 2023 MLB draft. Mickey Moniak leads Rockies past White Sox
July 6 - Mickey Moniak finished a double shy of the cycle, Michael Toglia also went deep, and the Colorado Rockies beat the Chicago White Sox 6-4 in Denver on Sunday. Moniak finished 3-for-4, and the only at-bat he did not reach was a strikeout in the second inning. Colorado wrapped up a 2-4 homestand and avoided being swept for the 13th time this season. Zach Agnos (1-3) pitched an inning for his first major league win and Seth Halvorsen got the final three outs for his eighth save for the Rockies. Mike Tauchman and Colson Montgomery had two hits apiece and Shane Smith (3-7) got the start the same day he was named a reserve for the AL All-Star squad, the only representative for Chicago. Smith allowed five runs on five hits in 4 1/3 innings. Colorado built an early lead on Moniak's solo homer leading off the bottom of the first -- his 13th of the season -- and extended the lead to 2-0 in the second when Ryan McMahon scored on a double play. The White Sox tied in the third on a fortunate bounce. Edgar Quero led off with a walk and went to second on Tauchman's one-out single. Chase Meidroth hit a potential double-play grounder up the middle but the ball ricocheted off the bag at second for a two-run double. Chicago went ahead in the fourth on Tauchman's RBI single, which ended Rockies starter Chase Dollander's afternoon. Dollander allowed three runs on five hits and walked four in 3 2/3 innings. The White Sox tacked on a run in the fifth on Montgomery's run-scoring single but he was picked off at first by Agnos. Colorado went ahead in the bottom of the inning. Yanquiel Fernandez and Ryan Ritter led off with singles and scored on Moniak's triple to right field. Dan Altavilla relieved Smith after a groundout, Moniak was thrown out at home on a fielder's choice, and Toglia homered to dead center to put the Rockies in front. It was his 10th of the season. --Field Level Media

Mickey Moniak, Antonio Senzatela lead Rockies past D-backs
June 22 - Mickey Moniak homered, Antonio Senzatela pitched solidly into the sixth inning and the Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-2 on Sunday in Denver. Senzatela (3-10) allowed a pair of runs over 5 1/3 innings to earn the win for the second straight start. Senzatela had gone nine games (eight starts) without a win before beating Washington on Tuesday night. Seth Halvorsen got the final three outs to pick up his sixth save. He was the last of five pitchers that held Arizona to five hits. Randal Grichuk had two hits and Josh Naylor scored both runs for the D-backs on his 28th birthday. Arizona had its three-game winning streak snapped and managed just two runs after scoring 19 over the first two games of the series. The D-backs had a season-high 21 hits on Friday night and 10 more Saturday night but were held to one extra-base hit on Sunday. They threatened in the ninth when Grichuk hit a two-out double off the wall in right, but Halvorsen got pinch hitter Ketel Marte to fly out to end the game. Arizona took the lead in the second when Naylor walked, Eugenio Suarez doubled and Grichuk hit a sacrifice fly. Grichuk helped extend the lead in the fourth as Naylor hit a one-out single, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on Grichuk's single. Brandon Pfaadt held Colorado to two singles through four innings but was hit hard in the fifth. Brenton Doyle, Kyle Farmer and Braxton Fulford led off with consecutive singles to make it 2-1. Pfaadt retired the next two batters before Moniak followed with a home run just inside the foul pole in right field to put the Rockies in front. It was Moniak's 11th of the season and sixth over his last 11 games. Pfaadt (8-5) walked Jordan Beck but got out of the inning to end his day. He allowed four runs on six hits and struck out seven over five innings. --Field Level Media
