The moment a 3-year-old girl corrected her parents for poking fun at the family dog melted people's hearts.
Miranda Shea, known on Instagram as @nursemirandashea, and her family sat at the kitchen table, enjoying a meal together. The home security camera captured the conversation Shea started about the family dog, Nilla. The family adopted Nilla from their local animal shelter, which had rescued her from a high-kill shelter in Los Angeles.
In the March 30 clip, Shea pointed out how Nilla's fur started to look "busted," which she told Newsweek wasn't a surprise to them.
"Her fur always looks wonky during shedding," Shea said. "It tufts out and comes out in 'chunks' even when we've just had her groomed."
Once NIlla's second goat sheds, it smooths out. It is just during a few weeks when everything gets "wonky" and covered in white fur. But hearing these words upset her daughter, Bella, who will be 4 in August.

Bella asked what Shea meant, which she admitted she had made fun of Nilla. That's when Bella stepped in and corrected her parents. She said it was not nice to make fun of people, which Shea immediately agreed with and apologized.
"I love that she felt safe enough to 'call me out' and check me," Shea said. "I never felt safe enough to do that with my own mom. It brought tears to my eyes as it happened, knowing how insightful and intelligent my daughter is at such a young age."
Shea continued, "Her older brothers have struggled developmentally due to various situations, like her eldest brother having autism. To have a child who is developmentally advanced AND caring enough to defend those who cannot defend themselves is a dream come true."
Since this incident, Shea said Bella has spoken up during other instances after hearing her brothers or strangers make comments that might be interpreted as hurtful. Each time makes Shea even prouder.
"Besides Bells being very thoughtful, loving, and intelligent, she's actually REALLY funny!" Shea said. "Her sense of justice and goodness is matched by her humor and silliness, which is pretty awesome to live around...The moment someone apologizes, she moves on and makes a joke to lighten the mood."
Viewer Reactions
As of Wednesday, the Instagram post had garnered over 2.1 million views and 191,000 likes. Viewers flooded the comment section with praise for Bella's response and her parents' parenting style.
"The fact that she sees her dog as a person," wrote one person.
"Bless that lil girl heart and big ups to the parents for teaching her well," another person said.
"You know, even in your mistake, it was such a great teaching moment. (1) accountability, (2) apologizing, and (3) gratitude towards her for expressing herself," a third commenter wrote.

In an Instagram story posted on June 9, Engemann said she was invited to the reunion but filming was on "short notice" and she had a scheduling conflict. "I tried to have production move it to another day and they couldn't swing it sadly," she wrote in the Instagram story. However, a Hulu spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY that Engemann will be part of the reunion, though it's unclear in what capacity. She was also briefly shown in the reunion trailer. Sabrina Carpenter shares new album cover 'approved by God' after backlash over racy image
Sabrina Carpenter shared a brand-new album cover "approved by God" after the pop star received backlash over the original art. Carpenter, 26, shocked fans with the announcement of her forthcoming album. She teased "Man's Best Friend" in a post shared to Instagram. The cover featured the "Nonsense" singer on her knees with a man holding her hair. The cover art sparked immediate backlash, with many commenting their thoughts on the post. "Am I the only one who thinks this is dehumanizing for women?" one user wrote. Another added, "This cover makes me uncomfortable… especially in times like these. Absolutely tone deaf." Carpenter seemingly took in the backlash and released a new album cover. "i signed some copies of Man's Best Friend for you guys," she wrote. "& here is a new alternate cover approved by God available now on my website." The "Manchild" singer recently opened up about the discourse around her song lyrics, which often include sexual innuendos. On tour, Carpenter performed various sex positions during her song "Juno." The moments often went viral, prompting complaints online. However, Carpenter said there's more to her music than meets the eye. "It's always so funny to me when people complain," Carpenter told Rolling Stone for the June cover story. "They're like, 'All she does is sing about this.' But those are the songs that you've made popular. Clearly you love sex. You're obsessed with it. It's in my show. There's so many more moments than the 'Juno' positions, but those are the ones you post every night and comment on. I can't control that. "If you come to the show, you'll [also] hear the ballads, you'll hear the more introspective numbers. I find irony and humor in all of that, because it seems to be a recurring theme. I'm not upset about it, other than I feel mad pressure to be funny sometimes." Carpenter noted women in the music industry are experiencing an intense amount of scrutiny over every decision made. "I don't want to be pessimistic, but I truly feel like I've never lived in a time where women have been picked apart more, and scrutinized in every capacity. I'm not just talking about me," she told the outlet. "I'm talking about every female artist that is making art right now." Carpenter has also been vocal about the criticism she personally receives. As she performed across the world for her album, "Short 'N Sweet," many took to social media to slam the singer's skimpy outfits. "…you'll still get the occasional mother that has a strong opinion on how you should be dressing," the "Taste" singer told TIME magazine. "And to that I just say, 'Don't come to the show,' and that's OK." "It's unfortunate that it's ever been something to criticize, because truthfully, the scariest thing in the world is getting up on a stage in front of that many people and having to perform as if it's nothing," she added. "If the one thing that helps you do that is the way you feel comfortable dressing, then that's what you've got to do." "Femininity is something that I've always embraced," she noted. "And if right now that means corsets and garter belts and fuzzy robes or whatever the f---, then that's what that means."

Julia Shiplett/Instagram Advertisement While this marks Page's first public relationship since coming out as transgender in December 2020, it would not be his first romance since privately transitioning. In his 2023 memoir 'Pageboy,' the 'Inception' actor detailed a secret romance he shared with an unnamed celebrity who was also 'closeted' at the time. 'My partner was more closeted than me for a change,' Page wrote. 'We were together for almost two years, and even some of my closest friends were not aware I was in a relationship. Her parents did not know.' 7 Page came out as a transgender man in December 2020. Elliot Page/Instagram Advertisement 'It was not a sustainable relationship, just like when I had kept people hidden,' the actor, who was married to dancer Emma Portner from 2018 to 2021, continued. 'People didn't 'think she was queer,' but they definitely assumed I was, and I don't think she could handle the shame.' 'Ultimately, she had to do what was best for her, and unfortunately, it resulted in my heart being shattered,' Page concluded the passage. He also detailed his relationship with actress Kate Mara in the surprising tell-all memoir. 7 The 'X-Men' star detailed his experience as a trans man in his 2023 memoir 'Pageboy.' Instagram/@elliotpage 'The first person I fell for after my heart was broken was Kate Mara,' Page wrote, although the 'House of Cards' actress was dating actor Max Minghella at the time and later married Jamie Bell in 2017. Page also opened up about his romance with his 'Juno' co-star, Olivia Thirlby. 'We started having sex all the time: her hotel room, in our trailers at work, once in a tiny, private room in a restaurant. What were we thinking?' the actor wrote. 'We thought we were subtle,' 7 Page was previously married to dancer Emma Portner from 2018 to 2021. Elliot Page/Instagram Advertisement 'Being intimate with Olivia helped my shame dissipate,' he added. 'I didn't see a glint of it in her eyes and I wanted that — done feeling wretched about who I am.' But things quickly changed for the 'Whip It' star after he came out as trans, and in June 2023, Page told the Los Angeles Times that he was having 'the most fun I've ever had dating.' 'Interacting with people feels so much easier and more connected, because I'm not feeling lost in myself and not seen in the right way,' he said at the time.
