
Dubai CommerCity partners with AI firms to transform UAE e-commerce landscape
The partnership with qeen.ai brings together Dubai CommerCity's advanced digital commerce infrastructure and qeen.ai's AI capabilities to establish a future-focused ecosystem that supports the growth of e-commerce businesses.
By combining expertise in intelligent automation, AI-driven customer experience management and streamlined digital sales, the collaboration is designed to accelerate digital transformation for digital commerce SMEs and high-growth brands.
AI powers e-commerce growth
The partnership with Portmind will enable businesses operating within Dubai CommerCity to benefit from a more agile, efficient, and compliant customs process.
Integrating Portmind's AI solutions will help automating key processes related to shipping and customs documentation, including data collection, validation, classification, and regulatory compliance.
The collaborations were announced during Dubai AI Week, taking place from April 21-25.
DCC is a joint venture between the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and Wasl Properties.
Mitch Bittermann, Senior Vice President – Commercial at Dubai CommerCity, said the partnership with qeen.ai reflects the zone developer's commitment to supporting the emirate's vision to become a global hub for artificial intelligence and a leader in shaping the future of digital economies.

Dina Alsamhan, Co-founder & CBO of qeen.ai, said partnering with Dubai CommerCity is a strategic step in advancing the UAE's digital commerce infrastructure.

Julien Gurunlian, Founder and CEO of Portmind, said the company's Sail platform is designed to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce friction in cross-border operations.

With the UAE's e-commerce market expected to exceed AED48.8 billion by 2028, the partnerships support national efforts to strengthen the digital economy and position the city as a leading hub for next-generation trade and technology.

Dubai has received a wave of global interest for its newly launched 'Dubai AI Seal', with 325 companies applying for the certification aimed at promoting trusted, transparent, and ethical use of artificial intelligence. Launched by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, the Dubai AI Seal offers a rigorous framework to assess and certify companies operating AI-based products or integrating AI into their services. The initiative is open to all firms licensed in Dubai and is free to join via the official website. The Seal is already proving to be a key step in the emirate's broader strategy to lead globally in responsible AI deployment. It will be required for companies participating in upcoming government-led AI projects, reinforcing its role as a gateway to strategic collaborations. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met with representatives of the first certified companies during Dubai AI Week. The certification is the city's first-of-its-kind program for trusted AI companies. So far, 325 companies operating in Dubai have applied for the certification. These include 77 international offices, reflecting wide international engagement. The 'Dubai AI Seal' offers a framework to promote trust and transparency in AI deployment. It aims to strengthen collaboration between government entities and technology providers across Dubai, the UAE, and beyond. Importantly, the initiative is open to all local, regional, and international companies licensed to operate in Dubai. Eligible participants must offer AI-based products or services, or use AI within their operations. Participation is free. Beinex Consulting CEO Shantosh Sridhar remarked that the Dubai AI Seal reflects Dubai's leadership in AI innovation. He called it a global benchmark for the future of AI. Dr. Haidar Al Yousuf, CEO of iO Health, reported that their AI solutions aim to serve human needs, and the certification supports that mission. CEO Avneesh Prakash said the Seal recognizes their dedication to ethical AI in language and voice technologies. Prop-AI Co-founder Christian Kunz added that applying for the Seal aligns with Dubai's vision of trust and innovation. Murali Rachamalla of Rounak noted that their AI adoption aligns with UAE digital goals. Meanwhile, InnovaSense CEO Bahman Kazemian called the Seal a gold standard for ethical AI.
