Ex-CM Jagan Reddy alleges law & order deteriorated in AP
Speaking to the media here, Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that Chief Minister Chandrababu is misusing power to muzzle the voice of opposition leaders.
The huge success of Betrayal Day which got an overwhelming response shows that anti-incumbency has set in very fast as none of the Super Six promises were implemented and law and order deteriorated with harassment and false cases, he claimed.
'I visited Sattenapalli on Wednesday in a curfew-like situation which shows the measure of repressive methods being adopted by Chandrababu Naidu government. What is wrong if the Opposition leader visits to console a family and people are coming in large numbers as they are vexed with the government and are looking towards YSRCP,' he questioned.
'The YSRCP leaders, who are close to Jagan Mohan Reddy, are being jailed based on false cases based on confessional statements by small people. This is how Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Dhanunjaya Reddy, Krishnamohan Reddy, Raj Kasireddy, Nandigama Suresh and others were held and trying to implicate Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and P V Mithun Reddy,' he slammed.
The apex court had to use its discretionary powers to grant bail to Kommineni Srinivasa Rao who was arrested using the same modus operandi. Then what action should be taken against those TDP workers and leaders who attacked Sakshi properties at multiple locations which is nothing short of unbridled rowdyism, he asked.
"Farmers are in distress and not getting MSP for any crop. They are forced to sell paddy for Rs 300 less and five farmers have committed suicides. The government has no concern, and if anyone questions, Chandrababu Naidu says that dissent and Opposition will be grounded," Jagan Mohan Reddy lashed out.

46.86 lakh farmers receive financial assistance under Annadata Sukhibhava-PM KISAN in Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said that ₹3,175 crore was disbursed to 46.86 lakh farmers across the State as part of the first instalment of the Annadata Sukhibhava - Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. Three instalments Launching the scheme, which was yet another election-eve promise, at East Veerayapalem village of Darsi mandal in Prakasam district, Mr. Naidu said every eligible farmer would get ₹20,000 per annum in three instalments — ₹7,000 in two tranches and ₹6,000. The first tranche was released on Saturday. Out of the ₹7,000, while the Central government would give ₹2,000, the State government's share was ₹5,000. Of the ₹3,175 crore released, the State's share was ₹2,343 crore, while the Centre gave ₹832 crore. Addressing the farmers in an agricultural field at Veerayapalem, the Chief Minister said, 'This is a historic moment. In Darsi constituency alone, 42,870 farmers will be given ₹29.06 crore.' Helpline Mr. Naidu advised the farmers to use the Sukhibhava portal, or call toll-free number '155251' for help in case of any payment issues. Highlighting the various initiatives taken to strengthen agriculture, including implementation of the 'Polam Pilustondi' programme in over 15,232 villages, the Chief Minister said, 'Before elections, I promised to usher in welfare and development in the State. I am working hard to improve the standard of life of the people. We have tied up with Jana Sena Party (JSP) and the BJP for the benefit of the State.' Super Six 'The NDA government is committed to implementing the Super Six schemes despite financial crisis. It has increased pensions [NTR Bharosa] from ₹3,000 to ₹4,000 per month in one go. Today, ₹32,134 crore is being disbursed in a year to 64 lakh social security pension beneficiaries in the State, the highest in the country, which is followed by Telangana, where the figure stands at ₹8,000 crore,' the Chief Minister observed. This apart, the NDA government was giving financial assistance to mothers of every school-going child under Thalliki Vandanam and three LPG cylinders free of cost annually to each household under Deepam-II scheme, he said. 'Stree Shakti' 'The government will roll out 'Stree Shakti' scheme on August 15, under which women across the State will be able to travel in State-run RTC buses free of cost,' Mr. Naidu said, adding that 2.65 lakh women would benefit from it daily. 'For DWCRA women self-help groups, the government is providing schemes such as Lakhpati Didi and drone pilot training,' he said.

Annadata Sukhibhava: ₹138.16 crore disbursed to 2.05 lakh farmers in Chittoor
Minister for Transport and Chittoor district in-charge Minister, Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, on Saturday, launched the first phase of the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme in Rompicharla mandal headquarters and disbursed ₹138.16 crore to 2.05 lakh farmers. The benefits were credited directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. Addressing a gathering of farmers, Mr. Ramprasad Reddy said that the scheme was implemented as a part of the 'Super Six' promises made in the run-up to the 2024 elections. 'The scheme aims at bringing direct financial relief to farmers during the khariff,' he said while reiterating the commitment of the government to bolstering the agrarian economy of the State. Each farmer will get ₹7,000 in the first instalment, while the remaining two instalments would be credited to the farmers' accounts in October and January. Chittoor Collector Sumit Kumar said that the scheme was being implemented with transparency, covering farmers and tenant farmers. He assured that the subsidy of ₹135 crore would be credited to the accounts of mango farmers who supplied Totapuri stocks to the pulp industries.

Malayali Nuns arrested in Chhattisgarh granted conditional bail
Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 2 (UNI) Two Malayali nuns arrested and jailed in Chhattisgarh have been granted conditional bail by the Bilaspur NIA Court today. Sister Vandana Francis from Udayagiri Parish in Thalassery, Kannur, and Sister Preethi Mary from Elavoor Parish in Angamaly, Kerala, were granted bail on the condition of two sureties of ₹50,000 each. The court also directed them to surrender their passports and prohibited them from leaving the country. The nuns had been in jail for the past nine days, facing charges related to religious conversion and human trafficking. Sisters Preethi Mary and Vandana Francis, along with Sukaman Mandavi, were taken into custody at Durg railway station on July 25, following a complaint filed by a local Bajrang Dal functionary. The complaint alleged that the trio was attempting to forcibly convert three girls from Narayanpur and traffic them. The prosecution did not strongly oppose the bail plea during the previous hearing and limited its arguments to technical grounds. The prosecutor informed the court that the investigation is still in its early stages. Meanwhile, leaders of the Congress, CPI(M), and BJP welcomed the court's decision to release the nuns from Kerala, as the state had witnessed several protests alleging that the Sangh Parivar was blocking the release of the nuns by involving the NIA in the case.
