Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy accused incumbent Chandrababu Naidu of resorting to diversionary tactics due to fear of failure. 'Even during the Podili visit the government tried to scuttle the event by imposing huge restrictions when milling crowds had come to see me.'He claimed that TDP supporters attempted to disrupt the Podili meeting, while YSRCP supporters, including farmers, maintained restraint. Despite this, Jagan said, cases were filed against farmers and not against those who disrupted the alleged that several YSRCP leaders, including Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Dhanunjaya Reddy, and others, were jailed based on fabricated charges extracted through coercion. VIJAYAWADA: Former Chief Minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the overwhelming response to his recent tours was a standing testimony to the huge anti-incumbency that has set in within one year of the TDP-led NDA government. Speaking to the media at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli on Thursday, Jagan said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is scared due to his failure in governance, and that his impatience is being manifested in diversion politics, and foisting false cases against political opponents. 'The modus operandi is to catch a small person like a gunman or a PA, use coercion methods to seek confession, and file cases against popular YSRCP leaders who support me, unmindful of the fact that people can see through his game,' Jagan deplored. He pointed out that the 'Betrayal Day' observed on June 4 received an overwhelming response from the public, showing that anti-incumbency has set in very fast, as none of the NDA Super Six promises have been implemented. Jagan questioned the repressive methods being adopted by the NDA government, citing his visit to Sattenapalli on Wednesday under curfew-like conditions. 'What is wrong if the Opposition leader visits to console a family, and people are coming in large numbers as they are vexed with the government, and are looking towards the YSRCP?' he asked. YSRCP leaders and those close to him are being jailed based on fabricated cases built on false confessions, he said. 'Atrocities on women and young girls are growing, and no complaint is being received, nor is any investigation taken up. Only after the Kuppam incident was trolled on social media, Naidu reacted. Addressing a press conference at his Tadepalli residence, Jagan said the overwhelming response of the people to his recent tours was a standing testimony of the huge anti-incumbency that has set in within one year of the Naidu regime. 'The huge success of Betrayal Day on June 4 with tremendous response from the people in all parts of the state shows the people are vexed with the Naidu government which failed to implement his Super Six promises and safeguard law and order in the state,' Jagan said. He said his visit to Sattenapalli on Wednesday in a 'curfew-like situation' showed the measure of repressive methods being adopted by the Chandrababu Naidu government. 'What is wrong if the Opposition leader visits to console a family? 'A handful of TDP workers tried to disrupt the meeting while farmers who came in large numbers had maintained restraint. Yet, cases were filed against farmers and not those who tried to disrupt the rally,' he said. 'There is severe repression in the state and people are venting their ire at every given opportunity by extending support to all our programmes,' he said. TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu said Jagan's so-called condolence tours were meant for instigating violence. 'He has violated all police permissions for his tours, held gatherings in narrow alleys leading to stampedes, encouraged violence, and blamed the police,' he said. He said the way the YSRCP mobilised crowds for Jagan's tour, violating the police restrictions, was highly condemnable. 'If such people flood the streets, it will lead to dangerous consequences. The public must stay alert,' he said. He emphasised that maintaining law and order in the state is a top priority for the coalition government and urged people to think seriously about the kind of leadership they want shaping the future.

This is how Vallabhaneni Vamsi, Dhanunjaya Reddy, Krishnamohan Reddy, Raj Kasireddy, Nandigama Suresh and others were held and trying to implicate Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and P V Mithun Reddy,' he slammed. Then what action should be taken against those TDP workers and leaders who attacked Sakshi properties at multiple locations which is nothing short of unbridled rowdyism, he asked.
