Pakistan cricket in turmoil! Audit exposes crores in corruption and overpayments
The audit report points to instances of corruption during 2023, when the board was under the leadership of Mohsin Naqvi and Zaka Ashraf.
Among the key findings is the misappropriation of 63.39 million Pakistani rupees paid to police for providing meals during international match security duties. The report also highlights the unauthorized hiring of three under-16 coaches at the Karachi High Performance Centre, which resulted in salary payouts of 5.4 million rupees.

Further, match officials were overpaid by 3.9 million rupees, raising concerns around potential match-fixing. The report also questions the hiring of a Media Director with a hefty monthly salary of 900,000 rupees.
Additionally, the audit notes that ticketing contracts were awarded without following proper competitive bidding procedures. These revelations have further strained the PCB's already fragile administrative reputation.

'The man wants 1000 career goals": Fans react to Alex Ovechkin's retirement rumors
Photo Via Getty Images After Alex Ovechkin firmly dismissed rumors about his possible retirement, fans wasted no time responding, and they have one clear message: he's not done yet. While the Washington Capitals captain made headlines for shutting down speculation in a recent interview with Sport-Express, the hockey world has now shifted its attention to what fans believe is Ovechkin's true goal, reaching 1,000 goals and beyond, literally. Fans confident Alex Ovechkin remains determined to chase 1,000 career goals Ovechkin's statement that the retirement rumors are 'pure nonsense' resonated strongly with fans, who quickly turned the conversation from 'if' he's retiring to 'how far' he plans to go. For many, the magic number is 1,000. 'The man wants 1000 career goals,' one fan wrote, summing up what countless others echoed online. With 897 goals already scored, Ovechkin is just three away from 900 and fans believe that's nowhere near the end. 'I think he wants 1000 goals. So if it's possible, he'll return after next season. If he needs 2–3 more years, then back to Russia he goes.' That blend of belief and realism is shared by many who think a final chapter in the KHL with Dynamo Moscow remains possible, but only after history is made in the NHL. Some fans believe Alex Ovechkin won't stop at 1,000 goals and could aim even higher While most fans are focused on Ovechkin breaking the 1,000-goal barrier, a few are daring to dream even bigger. 'He intends to score at a 30+ goal per season clip, play until he's 50 to pass 1,100 career regular season goals,' another fan boldly claimed. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Resmed AirSense 11 with flat 20% off ResMed Buy Now Undo 'He wants to set a record that will never be broken.' Whether it's 1,000 goals or more, supporters believe the Great 8 isn't skating off into the sunset just yet, he's still chasing greatness, and they're ready to follow every goal of the journey. 14-Samdani-CM-FIber-Net-Revival
Vijayawada: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to take swift action to restore and revitalize the AP Fiber Net project. He charged that the previous government had completely derailed the AP Fiber Net project, a visionary initiative launched between 2014 and 2019. Reviewing the progress of AP Fibernet activities here on Monday, the chief minister asked the officials to assess the challenges, financial constraints, necessary corrective steps, and new policy directions. He said that the system, designed to benefit the public, students, and government departments, was exploited for political purposes by the previous govt. He pointed out that while there were 8.70 lakh connections before 2019, was dropped to 4.50 lakh during the YSRCP regime. "We managed the organization effectively with just 130 employees and provided over 8 lakh connections. But the YSRCP government created unauthorized posts to accommodate its party workers, expanding the workforce from 130 to 1,350 and misusing public funds. This was a new form of corruption where party affiliates were placed in government roles and used for political work. The fiber network was no exception. Those responsible must be held accountable. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Providers are furious: Internet access without a subscription! The chief minister approved the integration of AP Fiber Net with the BharatNet (Amended BharatNet Programme – ABP).
