
Miss World 2025: Contestants from Portugal, Ghana, and Ireland arrive in Hyderabad today
On Monday, representatives from Portugal, Ghana, and Ireland are scheduled to land at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad, where the Telangana Tourism Department has arranged a traditional welcome with full honours.
The arriving contestants include Maria Amelia Antonio from Portugal, Jutta Ama Pokuhaa Addo from Ghana, and Jasmine Gerhard from Ireland. Special attention has been given to security and accommodation arrangements to ensure a smooth and memorable experience for all participants.
Several prominent delegates have already arrived in the city, including Zoyalize Jansen van Rensburg (Miss South Africa), Jessica Scandiuzzi Pedroso (Miss Brazil), Julia Evelyn Morley (Miss World CEO and Chairperson), and Emma Deanna Cathryn Morrison (Miss Canada).
On May 10, Miss World Chairperson Julia Morley is expected to review the final preparations and hold discussions with government officials regarding the grand opening ceremony at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, official sources said.

MP: CM Yadav to inaugurate two-day regional tourism conclave today
Bhopal, July 26 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will inaugurate a two-day Regional Tourism Conclave here today. The purpose of this conclave is to increase the number of tourists in the state, enhance cooperation and partnership between tourism entrepreneurs, tour operators, and the hotel industry, and encourage tourism investment in the state by recognising the tourism potential of the Vindhya region. The conclave is being organised by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism, Culture, and Religious Trusts and Endowments Dharmendra Singh Lodhi will also be present at the conclave, which shall take place at the Krishna Raj Kapoor Auditorium, Rewa, it was officially learnt. Several important decisions, investment proposals, digital innovations, and cultural partnerships that will strengthen the tourism sector will be announced. The event, focused on Wildlife and Offbeat Destinations, shall be an effective initiative to make the state self-reliant in tourism and connect local communities to mainstream tourism. In the first session, Letters of Award will be given to six major investors investing in the hotel, resort, wellness and eco-tourism sectors. These proposals include investments in Dhar, Mandsaur, Raisen, Vidisha, Jabalpur and Alirajpur. The Board will sign a strategic partnership Memorandum of Understanding with two major digital marketing companies, Barcode Experiential and Qyuki Digital. These companies specialise in digital branding, influencer campaigns and creative social media marketing. This collaboration shall boost modern branding of tourism destinations and help establish Madhya Pradesh more strongly among youth as the Heart of Incredible India. The Chief Minister will virtually lay the foundation stone under Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme of Spiritual Experience project at Chitrakoot Ghat. The inauguration of the Food Craft Institute in Shahdol shall also be done. This institute, built at a cost of Rs 15.62 crore, will provide training and employment-orientated courses related to hospitality to youth. To establish local art and handicraft centres in the Mandla, Dindori, Singrauli, Sidhi and Seoni districts, agreements will be inked with Gram Sudhar Samiti, MM Foundation, and Samarth Sanstha. Barcelona squad departs late for Japan, South Korea
Madrid, July 25 (UNI) Barcelona's squad has traveled to Asia for a three-match tour of Japan and South Korea with a 24-hour delay after resolving contract problems with the tour promotors. A conflict over the contract for Barca's first game against Japanese side Vissel Kobe saw the squad postpone its planned departure on Thursday, and the trip looked to be in danger of being canceled. However, the problems have now been resolved and the players were able to depart today. Coach Hansi Flick has named a 30-player traveling squad, which includes new signings Marcus Rashford and goalkeeper Joan Garcia. Amarnath Yatra: Batch of 2,896 pilgrims leaves from Jammu base camp
Jammu, July 25 (UNI) A fresh batch of 2,896 pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Yatra chanting 'Bam Bam Bhole' this morning left for the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas from Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar base camp, government sources said. 'A fresh batch of 2,896 pilgrims this morning left for Shri Amarnath Yatra cave shrine in Kashmir from Jammu base camp amid tight security arrangements,' they added. They said that 790 pilgrims left for Pahalgam and 2,106 for Baltal in a fleet of 117 vehicles comprising light motor vehicles and heavy vehicles. The 38-day annual pilgrimage started from both the routes from here on July 2. The yatra will end on August 9 on Rakshabandhan. More than three lakh pilgrims have so far visited the shrine.
