The return journey, train 08856, will leave Madhupur every Saturday and Tuesday at 14:30hrs, reaching Gondia at 17 hrs the following day.
The train will halt at key stations, including Dongargarh, Rajnandgaon, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Champa, Raigarh, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Tatanagar, Kharagpur, Asansol, and Durgapur, among others, covering major stations under SECR and beyond. This ensures accessibility for passengers across the region. Pilgrims are encouraged to book early to secure their seats for a hassle-free journey.

To help thousands of devotees reach Puri during the grand Ratha Yatra festival, the South East Central Railway (SECR) has announced a special train service between Gondia (Maharashtra) and Khurda Road (Odisha).This new train is a thoughtful move to ensure a smooth and convenient journey for pilgrims travelling to seek the darshan of Lord Jagannath. PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate five redeveloped Chhattisgarh railway stations under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme
RAIPUR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate five redeveloped railway stations in Chhattisgarh on Thursday as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme . The inauguration will take place via video conferencing, alongside 98 other redeveloped stations across the country. The five stations in Chhattisgarh are Dongargarh, Bhilai, Urkura, Ambikapur and Bhanupratappur. The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme is a nationwide initiative by Indian Railways to modernise and futurise railway stations by enhancing passenger amenities , infrastructure, technology, and aesthetics. Key focus areas of the scheme include modern passenger facilities, contemporary waiting rooms, clean toilets, lifts, and escalators, digital information systems, digital display boards, rainwater harvesting and energy efficiency. Station beautification includes murals, green spaces, and elements reflecting local culture. There are Divyangjan-friendly access like tactile paths and ramps. Besides, there are organised traffic and parking arrangements. These redeveloped stations will serve as hubs for passenger facilities and centres for cultural, social, and economic activities, according to the SECR. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, a total of 32 railway stations in Chhattisgarh have been selected for development, with an estimated cost of Rs 1,680 crore. The work focuses on infrastructure development , modern amenities, and promoting local art and heritage. The 32 Chhattisgarh stations selected under the scheme are: Bhatapara, Bhilai Power House, Tilda Neora, Bilha, Bhilai, Balod, Dalli Rajhara, Bhanupratappur, Hathbandh, Sarona, Maroda, Mandir Hasaud, Urikura, Nipania, Bhilai Nagar, Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Dongargarh, Raigarh, Baradwar, Champa, Naila-Janjgir, Akaltara, Korba, Uslapur, Pendra Road, Baikunthpur Road, Ambikapur, Bilaspur, Mahasamund, and Jagdalpur. The redevelopment of these stations aims to connect remote and industrial areas of the state to the mainstream, promote tourism, and improve the living standards of local people.
