‘Saiyaara' box office collection day 3 (LIVE): The Ahaan Panday, Aneet Padda film is unstoppable as it crosses the Rs 50 crore mark

Time of India20-07-2025
'Saiyaara' has broken all the records as it's the biggest opening film with newcomers. While Aneet Padda was earlier seen in 'Salaam Venky', this is her big debut movie of sort. Meanwhile, this is
Ahaan Panday
's first film.
This Mohit Suri directorial as a huge surprise to everyone as it clocked in Rs 21 crore on the opening day. The film did not stop there, it saw further growth on Saturday and it seems like the day 3, Sunday numbers would be even higher.
While on Saturday, it made Rs 25 crore, the number on day 3 till Sunday after stands at Rs 9.75 crore, the film has now crossed the Rs 50 crore mark. The total collection of 'Saiyaara' so far, according to Sacnilk is Rs 55.75crore.
This is huge and if the Sunday numbers are bigger than Saturday and the movie even touches Rs 30 crore on day 3, the total collection of the first three days may touch Rs 80 crore which is huge for a film of this sort.
But a Rs 75 crore plus weekend is surely guaranteed for the movie.
There's just positive word of mouth surrounding the movie and as per Box Office India, it has done an unthinkable business in some mass centres of North, Bihar, West Bengal and Rajasthan and CI.
Usually, it's only movies which do well in multiplex and single screens both, which manage to get those numbers and shockingly, 'Saiyaara' isn't just appealing to the youth at multiplexes in big cities but also small centres.
That perhaps has got to do with the film's music and the 'Aashiqui 2' nostalgia which the film is bringing. Many are also feeling that this one could just be 'Aashiqui 3'.
Day wise collection of the film:
Day 1 [1st Friday]₹ 21.00 Cr-
Day 2 [1st Saturday]₹ 25.00 Cr
Day 3 [1st Sunday afternoon]₹ 9.75 Cr **-
Total₹ 55.75 Cr

Tamil film Thalaivan Thalaivii has emerged HIT. The Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen starrer romantic comedy saw an excellent ramp over the weekend with its collections nearly doubling on Sunday from Friday and now has held nicely on Monday. The four-day running total at the Indian box office stands at Rs. 31.50 crore. It is projected to gross Rs. 42 crore in its first week and will surpass Rs. 50 crore in its second weekend. The Day Wise Box Office Collection of Thalaivan Thalaivii in India are as follows: The film has performed best in the home territory of Tamil Nadu with a good showing in Karnataka. In Tamil Nadu, the film opened to Rs. 5.50 crore on Friday and then saw a big jump on Saturday, crossing Rs. 8 crore. On Sunday, it came close to double digits with Rs. 9.50 crore approx. The Monday hold was superb with Rs. 4 crore, taking its total gross in the state over Rs. 27 crore. The target for the film will be to hit Rs. 50 crore in the state, which seems doable. That will make it the biggest grosser for Vijay Sethupathi in the state, for a film he is in the lead. The Territorial Breakdown for Thalaivan Thalaivii is as follows: This year has seen some small and medium films emerge HITs for the Tamil film industry, but a mega grosser remains missing. There was Good Bad Ugly, which did well, but expectations were for more. The wait will likely end in two weeks when Thalaivar comes with Coolie, which is a box office volcano set to erupt.

Suniel Shetty says people may have tried to remove Ahan Shetty from movies due to issues with him: 'Mere se naaraaz honge but he is a part of Border 2, Varun, Diljit treat him like a brother'

Suniel Shetty has opened up about the challenges his son Ahan Shetty has faced in the film industry, claiming that Ahan was deliberately sidelined from multiple projects after signing on for Border 2. The original 1997 war drama, in which Suniel played a significant role, holds a special place in Indian cinema. Now, years later, Ahan is stepping into the spotlight with a major role in its sequel. In a recent chat with Instant Bollywood, Suniel was asked how Ahan could be removed from films despite being his son. Suniel had earlier said that many people tried that Ahan is not a part of the film. He replied candidly, saying, 'That doesn't matter. Maybe mujhse galti hui hogi and mujhse naaraaz honge (May be I had done a mistake, and they are angry with me), and they want to take it out on somebody else. You can't change destiny. Ahan is very much a part of Border 2, and it is because of this film that he has gained so much appreciation, and he got friends like Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh . They love him like a younger brother.' He also spoke about whether he feels the need to protect Ahan from the harsh realities of the film world, given his own experiences over the years. 'In anything, you will have to do hard work. There are no shortcuts, and Ahan's first film did well during the pandemic and the film did business of Rs 35-40 crores and had an opening of Rs 4-5 crore even during the pandemic. Fingers crossed, I hope Border 2 crosses Rs 500 crore, and I pray Ahan is also appreciated along with Sunny Deol, Varun, and Diljit,' he shared. He further said, "Ahan has now got some great movies, not because he's my son but because he's got a personality, a great voice and he's a really good student. He looks up to people, respects people. He's got many traits of my further." Suniel also praised the success of Saiyaara, which stars debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. He called it a milestone moment for the industry. 'It is unbelievable. There is no substitute to hard work, and that is Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda's story. Now it is a big responsibility because they have given a new generation a chance, and maybe this is the turning point for the industry where producers might think that youngsters should get more opportunities.
