Pat Cash says his previous "bad bouts" of "anxiety and depression" forced him to turn down I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!
The 60-year-old former professional tennis player has been asked to take part in the successful ITV1 jungle survival reality show many times over the years, but he refused as he dreaded socialising with people in the New South Wales, Australia-based outback for around three weeks.
In an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper, Pat said: "I'm not sure I'm capable of doing the jungle.
"The reality is I'm not a particularly social person. I like my friends but I find a lot of people quite annoying.
"I have had bad bouts of anxiety and depression in my lifetime and I didn't want to be locked in somewhere for a few weeks."
Pat has also refused to take part in the hit BBC One reality show, Strictly Come Dancing.

Speaking about the Latin and Ballroom dancing programme, he shared: "Strictly gave up on me. I'm actually really shy."
Pat - who is remembered for winning the Wimbledon men's singles championship in 1987, and climbing the stands to celebrate - declared his appearance on The Masked Singer in 2022 was "just about the most nerve-wracking thing" he has done.
The star - who was unmasked as Bagpipes after performing the Wheatus hit Teenage Dirtbag on Love-themed week four - told host Joel Dommett: "The thing I'm probably most famous for is climbing through the stands. In sporting events, nobody did that before I did it.
But I'm sort of a frustrated rock guitarist. I had a band a little bit, for a little while and I call myself the 'emergency singer'.
I liked the idea that I could just focus on myself. Ironically, it's strange, seeing the crowd is quite nerve-wracking.
"I've played the centre court at Wimbledon but coming on here is just about the most nerve-wracking thing ever.
"But what a great experience, I'm very very lucky."
Pat turned 60 last month, but he only feels his age when he goes for a run or is on a tennis court.
The sporting legend - who retired from professional tennis in 1997 due to injuries - said: "I don't feel like I'm 60, except when I go for a run and my hip plays up, or on a tennis court I think, 'Oh no, this is not much fun.'

"But these things are bound to happen when you've played 40 years of professional sport."

'I went to Wimbledon and was floored by price of strawberries and cream'
Wimbledon's strawberries and cream have been served at the tournament since it first started in 1877 and the dish proves to be popular year after year. The price took one customer by surprise Wimbledon, the oldest tennis championship in the world and one of the four Grand Slam events, is currently taking place. It's held annually at the All England Club in Wimbledon, southwest London, and is known for its traditional grass courts and strict all-white dress code for players. While watching tennis stars like Emma Raducanu and Novak Djokovic in action is the highlight of the event, the refreshments are also a big draw and the one food item most associated with Wimbledon is strawberries and cream. This classic summer combination has been served at the tournament since it began in 1877 and every year, hundreds of people in the crowd are spotted tucking into this fruity delight. The strawberries and cream alone are popular enough to make some spectators want to attend Wimbledon, like the TikTok user Sofia Petrillo. In a video on the social media platform she confessed: 'I don't know anything about tennis. I'm just here for the strawberries and cream if I'm being honest. 'Apparently these are insane so let's try Wimbledon's strawberries and cream.' Sofia was met with a huge queue of customers waiting in line to try the iconic dish, leading her to remark: 'I hope these are worth it.' She was pleased to see that the queue was 'moving pretty quickly' so she didn't have to wait too long for her strawberries and cream. Sofia couldn't believe how much it cost. One portion is £2.70 which she thought was very reasonable, considering how high food and drink prices usually are at major sporting events. She shared her first thoughts on the treat: 'I'm not gonna lie, it's not giving like any sort of aesthetic at all.' Even though she wasn't impressed with how the strawberries and cream looked, that didn't stop her from tasting it to see if it is 'worth the hype.' Sofia tried her first strawberry covered in cream and couldn't help but smile. She said: 'Mmm, wait, that's actually really refreshing. I feel like I would prefer it if it was just strawberries though. 'They're really good and they were only like £2.70.' After eating some more of the strawberries and cream, she decided 'they could definitely charge more, a hundred per cent.' Although Sofia was amazed by the price, it has actually increased by 20p from 2024 and it's also the first time the cost of the strawberries and cream has risen in 15 years. The Wimbledon website states: 'On average there are 200,000 portions of strawberries and cream enjoyed during The Championships!' For many years, Wimbledon has sourced its strawberries from Hugh Lowe Farms, a family-run business spanning about 500 hectares near Mereworth, just 31 miles away. Throughout the two weeks of the tournament, the farm delivers freshly picked strawberries to the grounds each morning.

McMahon was also married to Australian singer and TV host Dannii Minogue from 1994 to 1995. McMahon's wife of 11 years, Paniagua, confirmed his death on Friday. 'With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,' she said in a statement to Deadline. Paniagua continued by expressing the love McMahon had for his fans and those around him and what being an actor meant to him during his life. 'Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible,' she said. 'We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. 'And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.'

Saturday Kitchen halted as celebrity chef calls in
This week's edition of Saturday Kitchen descended into chaos when a huge name from the culinary world called in Saturday Kitchen halted its usual proceedings today (Saturday, 5th July) when a major celebrity chef called into the show. Following a segment with Rick Stein in Lancashire, the show returned to presenter Matt Tebbutt in the studio after rustling up a carbonara with Gennaro Contaldo. However, before moving onto Matt's interview with Fleur East, the current star of Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, Gennaro interrupted the show to take a phone call. He revealed none other than Jamie Oliver was on the phone, causing an eruption of laughter from the rest of the guests. Jamie, the beloved chef, TV presenter and restaurant owner, exclaimed 'Hello everyone!' down the line as the Saturday Kitchen stars all applauded. The phone call continued with Jamie revealing his Saturday morning plans and promising to tune into the show soon. "Just come back from the market," he shared. "I'm going to be home in two minutes and I'm going to turn the TV on." Matt's guests this week, which also included Clare Smyth, wine expert Helen McGinn and chocolatier Paul A. Young, all let out an "Aww". BBC presenter Matt then quipped: "Jamie's just been down the market, he actually lives that life. "He goes down the market, buys his stuff, then goes home on his little scooter."
