Tom Kerridge shares secret he's hiding from wife as she'll 'go mental'
Celebrity chef Tom Kerridge and his wife Beth have been a couple since their fateful meeting in 1997, when she boldly asked him for £3 to cover the cost of a stripper at his mate's birthday party.
Despite facing numerous challenges together, including the gruelling hours spent launching their now-famed eatery The Hand and Flowers in Marlow, there remains one thing Tom refuses to share with his other half.
Speaking to The Guardian, Tom, an ardent Oasis fan, expressed his excitement for the band's upcoming reunion concerts later this year but also shared his concerns – particularly one he's keeping under wraps from Beth.
He admitted: "I had to pay a huge amount of money for the tickets," confessing only they cost "a lot". He added: "I can't divulge because my wife would go mental.
"One, because I had to pay a huge amount of money for the tickets. And two, because it's in September so they might not even be together by then!"
While tickets for the iconic Manchester group's eagerly awaited Wembley Stadium gigs were originally set between £75 and £200, they've skyrocketed on resale platforms like StubHub, fetching up to £8,000 for a pair, reports Gloucestershire Live.
Not only did Tom secure a Michelin star within a year of opening The Hand and Flowers with Beth, but his deep-seated passion for Oasis also saw him clinch one of his most cherished achievements – being crowned the winner of Celebrity Mastermind.
"Oasis was my specialist subject," he revealed to Kate Thornton on her White Wine Question Time podcast. "Two Michelin stars, the first, first pub in the world to ever do it, and Celebrity Mastermind winner!"
Tom shared a hilarious anecdote with Kate about the time one of his musical heroes visited his Buckinghamshire pub while keeping his trademark jacket on during the entire meal. "He's a very funny character," Tom said, reminiscing about the visit.
"He's very full-on. He came to eat one day in the Hand and Flowers, and not once did he never stop being Liam Gallagher.
"He spent the whole lunch with his cagoule on, zipped up to the top. He was drinking espresso martinis right, from the start, all the way through to the end. And when he finished his lunch, he moon-walked into the kitchen to thank all the chefs."
The chef didn't hold back his admiration for the rock icon, telling Kate: "He's actually Liam Gallagher but on steroids! He's twice the Liam Gallagher you ever think he's gonna be."
Tom added: "For me, Liam Gallagher should be Prime Minister. He's one of the great philosophers of our time. He's my leader."

Oasis' Gallagher Hill turned into rubbish dump after fans' behaviour at Heaton Park gigs
Oasis have done a run of Heaton Park gigs as Liam and Noel Gallagher returned to their hometown of Manchester - but the gigs haven't been without their hiccups Oasis' now infamous Gallagher Hill has been turned into a rubbish dump following the Heaton Park gigs. New pictures reveal how much rubbish has been left on the site following the gigs. Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher reunited for a set of gigs this summer, kicking off at Cardiff, before they headed to Heaton Park in their hometown of Manchester. However, many fans have struggled to get tickets to the gig and thus headed to another area of Heaton Park, where they could see the stage from a vantage point. The council later erected a fence there to stop fans from viewing the gig. Last night, a thousand fans who had gathered at the Hill were given an exclusive Oasis t-shirt, branded with 'Gallagher Hill'. It certainly went down a storm with the fans as they soaked up the electric atmosphere. Noel's daughter, Anais, shared a photo of two revellers proudly wearing their new shirts with the caption: "Giving out these t-shirts on Gallagher Hill is [love emoji]. Now I just need a Gallagher Hill bracelet." Two fans revealed that a man on a golf buggy arrived to give out the shirts. They said: "He just came and was handing them out, he looked official. He said, 'They're from Liam but I've only got a thousand.'" A source added: "Noel and Liam wanted to do something to honour their fans who'd been given a kick in the teeth from the council. "Their fans had gathered on the hill to listen to the show if they didn't have tickets and those in a good position could get a sight of the screens until the council bores tried to stop the fun. Noel and Liam wanted to make a point to their fans who couldn't get tickets so had these T-shirts made especially for them." There was also a tribute to those on Gallagher Hill during the final gig at Heaton Park, where the screens showed black and white footage of the fans on the hill. He also said: "I've been hearing there's loads of people over there behind some hill or something. Yeah I wanna dedicate this tune to them. Right, so if you lot are listening on that f*****g hill, Bring It On Down." The council erected a fence on the hill to stop fans from seeing the screens at the gig. Councillor John Hacking had urged fans without tickets to enjoy "a real party atmosphere" in the city centre instead. "The steps being taken ahead of the next concert regretfully mean the distant view of the large screens behind the event stage will no longer be there," he said, before adding that the council were "forced" to put the fence up to protect the trees and livestock.

Oasis sort free 'Gallagher Hill' t-shirts for fans
Oasis fans who gathered at so-called Gallagher Hill for the band's final Manchester homecoming tour date were treated to special free of fans have been soaking up the atmosphere of the gigs on the hill, which took on cult status over weekend despite efforts to close it off with a Sunday night, at the band's behest, some 1,000 black t-shirts emblazoned with the words 'Gallagher Hill' were handed out as crowds partied and enjoyed the acoustics drifting from the official stage in Heaton Park, Prestwich. Noel Gallagher's daughter Anais Gallagher posted about the t-shirts on her Instagram account with the caption: "Oasis giving these out on Gallagher Hill is [heart emoji]." News of the hill spread after the band's first show on 11 July, when ticketless fans realised the stage was visible from an elevated area in the park. Additional fencing was put up last Tuesday ahead of the next set of show dates, with Manchester City Council urging people to not attend - but thousands continued to go. Fans posted on social media about being handed the t-shirts for free, saying they were told the band had arranged the giveaway. The previous night, frontman Liam had dedicated a performance of the 1994 hit Bring It On Down to those on the of the t-shirts have since appeared on eBay, with prices for replicas starting at about £16 - and prices for apparently genuine t-shirts hitting £2,556.16. Sunday's show marked the final Manchester date of the Live '25 comeback tour, before the Burnage-born brothers next head to Wembley Arena in London. There were some complaints about the mess left behind by the estimated 10,000 strong crowds on the councillor Alan Quinn said the rubbish left behind was "shameful".He told BBC Radio Manchester: "At the end of the day, people could have taken the litter home with them. "If they brought the litter in, take it home, they could have even left it in one spot to make it easier for the workers, the litter-pickers to pick it up. "But it's strewn everywhere." Meanwhile, Greater Manchester Police have thanked the 300,000 concert-goers for their good behaviour during the Heaton Park force said over the five events there were no major incidents, with only five arrests recorded on Sunday. Assistant Chief Constable Matt Boyle, lead police commander for the Oasis events, said planning for the concert had been "months in the making". "We've now seen all five Oasis events pass without any major issues and I'm pleased that the overwhelming majority of people attending have enjoyed themselves and behaved sensibly and responsibly," he said.
