Auburn transfer Keyshawn Hall makes important decision regarding NBA draft
Auburn basketball recently landed forward Keyshawn Hall from the transfer portal with the thought of him potentially never playing a second in orange and blue.
However, head coach Bruce Pearl received great news Tuesday as Hall has decided to back off the NBA draft process and will play for Auburn for the 2025-26 season, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. Now that Hall has made his choice, attention turns to guard Tahaad Pettiford, who is also testing the NBA waters, to make his final decision.
Hall joins Auburn's roster following a strong season at UCF that saw him score a Big 12-leading 18.8 points and haul in 7.1 rebounds, which ranked No. 9 in the conference. He reached double figures in points 29 times last year, and scored 20 or more points in 16 games. He scored a season-high 40 points in UCF's win over Arizona State and scored 34 points in a game against Kansas.
Hall will play a major role in Auburn's frontcourt rebuild. A unit depleted by the departure of Johni Broome, Dylan Cardwell, and Chaney Johnson will be filled by Hall, Mississippi State transfer Keshawn Murphy, and JUCO center Emeka Opurum. Pearl says that he hopes to add one more center to round out what should be a stellar rotation at forward and center.

You have to pull out all the stops to impress him when he's visiting the country with the second-highest population in the world. It's a prerequisite to even getting a chance to leave a lasting mark. Kudos to this fan for doing just that and putting a smile on Jokić's face.

Spartans remain positioned near top 20 in latest preseason rankings from Jon Rothstein
Michigan State basketball landed just outside the top 20 in the latest released preseason poll for the 2025-26 season. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports released an updated preseason poll for the next college basketball season, and he has the Spartans sitting just outside the top 20. Michigan State came in at No. 21 in the updated poll from Rothstein. Among Big Ten teams, Michigan State is ranked fifth. The Spartans are behind Purdue (No. 1), Michigan (No. 5), UCLA (No. 7) and Oregon (No. 20). Rothstein's rankings include the top 45 teams in the country, so he also had six Big Ten teams listed below the Spartans on the list: Illinois (No. 22), Wisconsin (No. 23), Ohio State (No. 26), Washington (No. 30), Maryland (No. 35), USC (No. 38) and Nebraska (No. 41). Michigan State has typically been sitting right around this same spot in each of Rothstein's updated rankings throughout the offseason. This seems like the perfect landing spot for a Spartans team that has plenty of unknowns going into next season, but certainly has the potential to again be a contender in the Big Ten should everything come together. "For the past two years, I've been pushing myself so hard, fighting through injuries and facing many other challenges," Jabeur, 30, wrote on Instagram, Facebook and X. "Tennis is such a beautiful sport. But right now, I feel it's time to take a step back and finally put myself first: to breathe, to heal and to rediscover the joy of simply living. Thank you to all my fans for understanding. Your support and love mean the world to me. I carry it with me always. "Even while I'm away from the court, I'll continue to stay close and connected in different ways, and share this journey with you all." Jabeur, who currently sits at No. 71 in the WTA Tour singles rankings, retired due to breathing difficulties during the second set of her first-round match against No. 105 Viktoriya Tomova of Bulgaria at Wimbledon 2025. The Tunisian also lost in the first round of the 2025 French Open. She advanced to the third round of the 2025 Australian Open, the first Grand Slam on the tennis calendar. Jabeur was a 2024 French Open quarterfinalist. She made three Grand Slam finals between the 2022 and 2023 campaign, including the 2022 U.S. Open, Wimbledon 2022 and Wimbledon 2023.
