Gyokeres' agent blasts Sporting CP for lack of respect

Yahoo2 days ago
Viktor Gyokeres' agent has admitted he'll never understand Sporting CP's stance on the player's summer transfer to Arsenal, insisting the gentlemen's agreement to leave was genuine.

Jonathan Chalkias was one of Viktor Gyokeres' representatives working on the player's summer transfer from Sporting CP to Arsenal, a more difficult process than anyone initially expected.
Throughout the 2024/25 campaign, multiple news outlets had talked about Gyokeres' gentlemen's agreement with Sporting CP. If he stayed and played for them for one more season, he'd be allowed to leave for €60m plus €10m in add-ons.
Sporting made no attempt to play down the reports until after the season was over, at which point they publicly denied the existence of such an agreement.

Part of the problem was seemingly that Gyokeres' camp made the agreement with Hugo Viana, who subsequently departed to join Manchester City. But when asked about the existence of the agreement this week, Chalkias was clear that it was genuine.
'Yes, there has been (an agreement),' Chalkias told WTV. 'If Hugo Viana had remained at Sporting, this deal would have been done in an hour.
'[The agreement] was written down, but you would have had to start a legal process that there was no time for.
'After all he has done for Sporting…that you didn't have more respect for his will and his dreams after these two seasons and three trophies and all the goals. I will never understand that.'

Sporting pushed for more money, hoping to bring in at least €70m plus €10m in add-ons, and wanting most of those add-ons to be effectively guaranteed payments.
Arsenal eventually got a deal for €63.5m plus €10m, but only because Gyokeres' key representative Hasan Cetinkaya agreed to give up his cut.
With Cetinkaya giving up his portion of the payment, the full €63.5m could go to Sporting, the same amount they would have received if Arsenal had paid €70m and Cetinkaya had taken 10%.
So Arsenal got a cheaper deal, Sporting got the money they wanted, and Cetinkaya's client got the move. The agent just didn't get his full commission for it.

Sporting had tried various other tricks during negotiations, including attempting to create a bidding war with other clubs. But Chalkias confirms that Gyokeres never had any interest in joining anyone else.
'He's been locked in from day one, it was only Arsenal for him,' Chalkias added. 'But he also consulted with us, what do you think? And Hasan [Cetinkaya] was clear from day one, and so was I.
'This situation that Arsenal has now, the whole world knows they need a striker. And just look at the football they play… against Real Madrid in the Champions League. And then to get the chance to come here and be that nine.
'How could anyone say no to that?'

Raymond James Starts Ares Management (ARES) Coverage, Highlights Strong Fee-Based Model

Ares Management Corporation (NYSE:ARES) ranks among the . On July 28, Raymond James began coverage of Ares Management Corporation (NYSE:ARES) with a Market Perform rating. While the firm highlighted Ares' robust direct lending position and growth prospects as advantages, it also pointed out that there were no immediate catalysts for the stock. According to Raymond James, Ares Management Corporation (NYSE:ARES) is reasonably valued at its current price-to-earnings multiple of 32x next-twelve months, which is higher than the 20x anticipated P/E average for the alternative asset management industry in 2026. The firm claims that Ares' purely fee-based business model, which has little balance sheet exposure and a better growth trajectory than its peers, justifies the premium valuation. Raymond James emphasized Ares' guidance for fee-related earnings through 2028, which are expected to improve at a compound annual growth rate of 16–20%. As the company deploys about $81.5 billion in committed assets that do not currently generate fees, additional margin gains are projected. Lookman Ready For ‘Total War' With Atalanta To Force Through Transfer To Inter Milan

Ademola Lookman is reportedly ready for 'total war' with Atalanta to force through a move to Inter Milan this summer. This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews. They report that the 27-year-old's social media antics may just be the start of his efforts to put pressure on La Dea. Ademola Lookman has not exactly hidden how he feels about Atalanta rejecting a €45 million for him from Inter. The Nigerian international, who has already agreed personal terms with the Nerazzurri, responded on social media. Lookman deleted all traces of Atalanta from his Instagram account. This included blacking out his profile picture, and removing photos where he is in an Atalanta shirt. (Photo by Pier) Clearly, Lookman is upset with Atalanta for sandbagging Inter's offers to sign him. Therefore, the former RB Leipzig forward is aiming to force his club's hand by kicking up a fuss with moves like scrubbing his current employers from his social media account. However, reports SportItalia, this may just be the beginning. So far, Lookman hasn't directly taken any public shots at Atalanta – even if his social media move was not exactly subtle. But in the next week or two, things could come to a head even further. Atalanta already know that they have a highly awkward situation on their hands. And one that threatens to destabilize their dressing room. According to SportItalia, Lookman will dig in his heels even more. He is ready for 'total war' until Atalanta sell him to Inter.
