MADINAH — Several exhibitions and knowledge centers within the courtyards and halls of the Prophet's Mosque are offering enriching cultural and educational experiences to pilgrims and visitors during the Hajj season, showcasing the depth of Islamic heritage and the warm hospitality of Madinah.
Among the key attractions is the Exhibition on the Architecture of the Prophet's Mosque, located in the southern square opposite exits 308 and 309.
Open daily from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the exhibition highlights the architectural evolution of the mosque through interactive displays and modern presentation techniques.
Nearby, the International Exhibition of the Prophet's Biography, situated in front of exits 306 and 307, operates from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The exhibition offers visitors a contemporary, immersive experience into the life and character of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), presenting his values and message through multimedia displays.At Facility 204 in the southern square, the Rare Manuscripts Exhibition welcomes guests from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.It features a remarkable collection of historical manuscripts, documents, and inscriptions that chronicle the development of Islamic calligraphy and literature across the centuries.The Prophet's Mosque Library, located near Gate 10 on the western side, provides around-the-clock services to visitors.It comprises several specialized sections, including rare books, manuscripts, an audio library, and various technical departments.The Rare Books and Manuscripts Section, situated inside the mosque near the Uthman Gate, is a key destination for scholars and researchers.It houses more than 4,000 original manuscripts, around 60,000 digital manuscripts, 4,600 imaged manuscripts, as well as 250 handwritten Qur'ans and 200 printed Qur'ans.The section operates in two shifts: from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Fahim Al-Hamid, general supervisor of media and communications at the Presidency of Religious Affairs, emphasized the presidency's commitment to translating the Friday sermon into multiple languages, serving as a bridge for communications between peoples and the exchange of cultures and civilizations. With live translations now available, Muslims around the world can connect with this sacred moment in their own languages, extending the reach of its powerful message to millions of the faithful.

Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's hotel room occupancy rate rose to 63% in the first quarter of 2025, up 2.1 percentage points from the same period in 2024, according to the Tourism Establishments Statistics Publication released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT). In contrast, the occupancy rate for serviced apartments and other hospitality facilities dropped to 50.7%, down 3.8 percentage points compared to Q1 2024. The report also showed a mixed trend in room pricing. The average daily room rate in hotels fell by 3.4% year-on-year, reaching SR477, while serviced apartments and similar facilities saw an increase of 7.2%, bringing the average rate to SR209. Regarding guest behavior, the average length of stay in hotels during the fourth quarter of 2024 remained unchanged at 4.1 nights. However, the average stay in serviced apartments and other hospitality facilities decreased by 4.5% to 2.1 nights. Tourism employment saw a notable uptick, with 983,253 individuals working in tourism-related activities during Q1 of 2025, reflecting a 4.1% increase compared to the same quarter last year. Of the total, 243,369 were Saudi nationals, representing 24.8% of the workforce, while non-Saudis made up the remaining 75.2% with 739,884 employees. Men accounted for 86.8% of all workers in the tourism sector, totaling 853,852, while women represented 13.2% or 129,401 employees. The tourism sector comprised 5.4% of the total national workforce in Q1 of 2025, a slight decrease of 0.3 percentage points compared to Q1 of 2024. In the private sector, tourism employees made up 8.1% of the workforce, down 0.6 percentage points year-on-year.

Saudi Gazette report MAKKAH — The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has taken disciplinary action against several Umrah companies over violations related to inadequate accommodation services for pilgrims, in breach of their approved programs. The violations were recorded during the ministry's ongoing field inspections aimed at monitoring the implementation of contractual obligations by licensed Umrah companies and establishments. The ministry confirmed that the shortcomings conflicted with the standards agreed upon in advance with service providers. As part of the enforcement measures, four companies were suspended from operations, while others faced financial penalties based on the severity and frequency of their violations. The ministry emphasized its firm commitment to protecting the rights of Umrah performers and ensuring that all services are delivered in line with the highest levels of quality and warned that negligence or failure to fulfill contractual duties will result in strict legal initiative prioritizes improving the experience of pilgrims and visitors to the Prophet's Mosque at every stage of their journey to the ministry also urged all companies and service providers to fully comply with approved regulations and service timelines, ensuring the satisfaction and comfort of pilgrims throughout their stay.
