She regularly visits the general ward in room number 503 on the fifth floor of RIMS Hospital, where her son was admitted, hoping to see him return. Nagalakshmi said, "The negligence of the staff and officials at RIMS Hospital is the cause of my son's disappearance."
According to police sources, they are employing all available resources to find the boy. When the TOI attempted to reach RIMS director Dr Ramesh BH, he was not available.

Who is Alina Habba? Trump's nominee for New Jersey's permanent US attorney
President Donald Trump nominates Alina Habba for full term, defends her record, New Jersey awaits Senate confirmation(Source: TOI) New Delhi: US President Donald Trump on Tuesday nominated his former campaign spokesperson and personal lawyer Alina Habba for a full four year tenure as New Jersey's US attorney. Habba was temporarily appointed to the post in March, who described the decision as 'a great pleasure' and praised her as someone who 'will fight tirelessly to secure a legal system that is both fair and just for the wonderful people of New Jersey.' Habba drew national attention earlier this year when she brought charges against Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, accusing him of trespassing at Delaney Hall, a privately operated federal immigration detention centre in Newark. However, the charges were later dropped. 'After extensive consideration, we have agreed to dismiss Mayor Baraka's misdemeanour charge of trespass for the sake of moving forward,' Habba said in a statement. However, in the same announcement on social media, she revealed that her office had filed charges against New Jersey Representative LaMonica McIver, alleging that she assaulted and impeded law enforcement officers at the same facility. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Stop Eating This — It's Fueling Sugar Spikes Daily Beauty Ideas Read More Undo As her 120-day interim term nears its conclusion, Habba will require Senate confirmation to continue as U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey on a permanent basis. Mumbai teacher and accomplice arrested for manipulating, sexually abusing boy with anxiety pills and booze
A female teacher from a well-known school in Central Mumbai has been arrested by the Dadar police , along with a friend, for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage male student over a period of one year. As per a TOI report, the 38-year-old teacher, who is married with children, is accused of grooming the 17-year-old boy by offering him emotional support, taking him to luxury hotels, and giving him alcohol and anxiety medication. According to police reports, the survivor was first introduced to the teacher through school extracurricular activities, such as dance groups she organised. Over time, the teacher is said to have gained the boy's trust and isolated him from his friends. She allegedly picked him up from hidden locations in her car and took him to five-star hotels where the abuse took place. Investigators claim that the teacher gave the boy anxiety pills without any medical supervision and provided him with alcohol. Live Events In early 2025, the student confided in a close female friend about the abuse, who encouraged him to speak to a school counsellor. After the school management was informed, they promptly reported the matter to the police. During questioning, the boy revealed that he had kept quiet for months, hoping the teacher would stop the abuse. He finally spoke out after experiencing emotional distress and anxiety. He filed a complaint after finishing his time at the school. The teacher and her friend were arrested last week and have been remanded in police custody. They are facing multiple charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, including rape, causing hurt by poison, criminal intimidation, and common intent under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Police are now reviewing the teacher's past interactions with other students and examining her digital activities for any signs of grooming or inappropriate behaviour. A senior investigating officer stated, 'The accused projected herself as a mentor but used her position of trust to exploit a vulnerable minor. This is a serious breach of professional and moral boundaries.' The school has suspended the teacher and released a statement saying they will fully cooperate with law enforcement and support the survivor. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed to protect their privacy, in accordance with Supreme Court directives on sexual assault cases.

'Speak Marathi or...': Mira Road sweet shop owner thrashed by MNS Supporters, video sparks outrage
A shocking incident in Mira Road, near Mumbai, has sparked outrage after a sweet shop owner was allegedly beaten up for not speaking in Marathi. As per a TOI report, seven unidentified men, suspected to be members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), have been booked by the Kashimira police for the assault. According to the FIR, the incident took place on Tuesday morning at around 10:30 am. Babulal Khimji Chaudhary, a 48-year-old sweet shop owner, said that a group of men wearing MNS symbols on their clothing entered his shop and asked for water. When the shop worker spoke to them in Hindi, the men reportedly got angry and started abusing and threatening him for not speaking in Marathi. Chaudhary said the argument escalated when he explained that many of his workers were from other states and not fluent in Marathi. Assault caught on camera Chaudhary added that two of the men approached him directly and told him he must speak Marathi if he wants to work in Maharashtra. When he tried to explain his point, he was allegedly thrashed. 'They even made a video of the attack and shared it on social media,' he said. When asked what language is spoken in Maharashtra, Chaudhary said he responded, 'All languages are spoken in Maharashtra.' According to him, this made the men even more furious. Live Events MNS responds A TOI report revealed that an MNS office-bearer confirmed there was an argument over the language issue but claimed the shop owner was 'arrogant.' He said the party workers were nearby, celebrating the state government's rollback of the three-language policy resolution, and had gone to the shop to buy water when the incident occurred. 'The owner said all languages are spoken in Maharashtra, and that led to some heated words,' the office-bearer claimed. The bigger picture The incident comes amid ongoing political discussions around language use in Maharashtra. The state recently rolled back its decision to implement a three-language policy in schools, following strong reactions from political parties and citizens. Police are investigating the case, and the video is being used as evidence. So far, no arrests have been made. Inputs from TOI
