Fox Burton's Companies has announced a huge change for its Maryland brand, with the launch of its brand new sandwich biscuit.
The Maryland S'wich is the first major shakeup in the brand's iconic line up of treats.
It's the UK's only chocolate chip cookie sandwich and combines several delicious flavours.
The S'wich is a regular Maryland Chocolate Chip Cookie which is filled with a decadent, creamy chocolate filling.
Landing in Tesco and Booker stores on July 16, the incredible snack will only set customers back £1.50.
Ahead of the launch, David Hebson, Trade Marketing Director at FBC said: 'The sandwich biscuit space has long been without a cookie variant — until now.
'Maryland S'wich is an exciting new proposition that combines the trusted appeal of Maryland with the indulgent format of a crunchy, crumbly and creamy sandwich cookie.
'With strong consumer metrics behind the launch, we're confident S'wich will deliver real incremental value.
'It's a product that not only meets growing shopper demand for multisensorial textures and more indulgent biscuits but also unlocks new opportunities for retailers to drive basket spend and category growth.
'We're excited to partner with the trade on what is a game-changing addition to the Sweet Biscuit aisle.'
Nostalgic candy with '50 cent taste' could be wiped from shelves for good after 120 years
The news comes after Fox launched a creative take on one of their most beloved 1980s sweets.
The company changed the design on their iconic Party Ring biscuits for the first time in 42 years.
Normally featuring a shortcake biscuit topped with colourful icing, the new variety was branded as an 'Under the Sea' version.
For the first time in the brand's history, the sweets were shaped in fish and star designs.
Fans of the treat went wild for the change, with one writing: "We need these for any future birthday parties."
Davina Valetti, marketing controller of Party Rings, said about the launch: "Under the Sea minis is an exciting milestone for the Party Rings brand.
"It's not every day you change something that's been loved for over 40 years, but we think people are going to be pleased what we've done.
"We're still bringing the party, just with a fun new twist."

Scotland's most expensive streets revealed – including 53 mega-homes in ‘Millionaire's Row'

One part of the country dominated the list THE NUMBER of millionaire housing rows in Scotland is increasing after a new record was set for £1million-plus sales. New figures have revealed 514 properties around the country fetched more than seven figures in 2024 - a rise from 506 the previous year and a new high. 4 Edinburgh's Morningside ranked high on the list Credit: Getty 4 The harbour at St Andrews in Fife Credit: Alamy 4 Homes in Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, were also high on the list. Credit: Alamy Edinburgh's New Town, West End and Morningside dominated the sales with St Andrews and Bearsden also featuring. The research from estate agents Rettie & Co shows the market remains dominated by the East of Scotland, including Edinburgh, which accounted for nearly 80 per cent of £1 million-plus sales in Scotland in 2024. The EH3 postcode in Edinburgh, which includes the New Town and West End, is the number one location for seven figure sales with 53 in 2024. Its appeal is said to reflect sustained demand for 'centrally located, architecturally significant homes within walking distance of key city amenities, excellent schools, and cultural institutions'. The EH10 Edinburgh district, which includes Morningside, took second spot with 50 sales. St Andrews in Fife continues to be a strong performer with 24 sales over £1 million in the KY16 postcode last year. The G61 postcode in Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, was the only West of Scotland area to feature in the top 10 with 16 sales. Simon Rettie, managing director of Rettie & Co, said: 'Scotland's prime residential market continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience, with 2024 marking a record-breaking year for £1 million-plus home sales. 'While Edinburgh and the East remain dominant, it's encouraging to see continued activity emerging in the West. 'Buyers are showing confidence again - a trend we expect to build through 2025.' This house has appeared on dozens of hit TV shows - but would YOU recognise it? The research showed just five Edinburgh postcodes accounted for nearly 40 per cent of all sales over £1 million. The top 10 postcodes in Scotland are EH3, EH10, EH4, EH9, EH12, KY16, EH1, G61, EH16 and EH13. Dr John Boyle, director of strategy and research at Rettie, said: 'The Scottish £1 million-plus market has weathered recent economic headwinds and emerged with renewed strength, culminating in a record number of sales in 2024. 'Edinburgh continues to lead the way, underpinned by its established prime districts and resilient buyer demand, while the wider East of Scotland market has consolidated its position as the engine of high-value transactions. 'Encouraging signs are now emerging in the West, with areas like Bearsden showing growth. Meanwhile, the sharp increase in sales just below the £1 million threshold points to a strengthening middle-prime segment, likely to feed future growth in the top tier. 'This is reflected on the ground, with strong demand continuing to drive competition in desirable neighbourhoods. 'With interest rates stabilising and market confidence improving, the outlook for Scotland's high-value residential market in the remainder of 2025 is one of cautious optimism.'

Iconic car brand ‘axes plans for new EV & slashes plans on electric car spending' as firm ‘shifts focus'

The motor industry is facing a massive upheaval in 2025 SWITCH UP Iconic car brand 'axes plans for new EV & slashes plans on electric car spending' as firm 'shifts focus' AN ICONIC car brand has axed plans for a new EV and slashed its electric car spending as it "shifts focus". It comes as a struggling motor industry is second guessing its roadmap toward full electrification. 2 Honda has axed plans for a new EV and slashed its electric car spending Credit: Getty 2 The brand has also slashed its spending on EVs Credit: Getty Honda has pulled the plug on developing some future models including cancelling plans for a large electric SUV. It was due to launch in 2027 but according to new reports, development for the model has now been halted. In addition, the brand has slashed how much it plans to spend on EVs through 2030. Honda will cut EV-related funding from $68.6 billion to $48 billion. The company is reportedly shifting its focus toward building more hybrids which are already in development for the US. But plans remain to launch their flagship electric sedan and midsize SUV EVs which were showcased earlier this year. Those models are scheduled to arrive next year. Honda also has plans to launch seven EVs by 2030 but it's not yet clear how many of those are still in development. The scale back comes as motor companies have come to realise their EV plans don't align with consumer demand in the last six to nine months. Some have starting closing the purse strings on EV investments as a result. Moment iconic car maker enters space race after launching reusable rocket Lotus cancelled its proposal to go fully electric in November 2024, instead focusing on hybrids like Honda with many other companies heading in the same direction. Porsche also announced it would shift to offering more hybrid options after admitting it would not meet its initial goal of 80% fully electric sales by 2030. Nissan scrapped plans for a small electric SUV in January and Mini said it wouldn't be abandoning petrol engines anytime soon. Even Volvo has admitted defeat in achieving its EV plans. Elsewhere, motor companies are also trying to keep the combustion engine alive. BMW insist the combustion engine is its foundation while Lamborghini is hopeful synthetic fuels will take off. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz is looking to extend the life of its engines while Audi has announced it will build petrol engines for another 10 years. News of Honda's EV scale back comes as the company is set to bring back one of its much-loved electric vehicles to rival Hyundai and the Fiat 500. Honda's Super EV concept is due to appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend. The "futuristic successor" to the Honda E is set to include a new EV platform, batteries and motor, giving the beloved car a significant upgrade. Honda has also recently axed a record-breaking hot hatch just three years after its latest revamp. The FL5-generation Honda Civic Type R is being culled in the UK and Europe from 2026 - but is set to go out with a bang.

Half a million Universal Credit claimants due £25 cash boost

Half a million Universal Credit claimants due £25 cash boost The account is exclusive to people receiving Universal credit and earning £1 or more per month Thousands may not realise they're eligible for the account which can add a £25 boost every month (Image: GETTY ) HMRC has confirmed that the Help to Save account will be extended to April 2027. It's a savings account exclusively for people on Universal Credit earning £1 or more each month. It allows people to save up to £50 per month, and the government adds a top-up each month depending on how much you save. If you save the maximum, the bonus will add £25 back into people's pockets each month, according to the Daily Record. ‌ More than half a million people are already in line for the bonus and the government estimates thousands more are still eligible to open the account. Of those already saving into the account, 93% put away the maximum £50 every month. ‌ The bonus is compiled each month but is paid out in two tax-free bonuses over four years. The bonuses are based on the highest balance you saved during the first two and last two years. The most you can pay into your account each calendar month is £50, which is £2,400 over 4 years. The most you can earn from your savings in 4 years is £1,200 in bonus money. After four years, the account will close, but you can open another Help to Save account if you're still eligible. However, if you close your account early, you won't be able to open another one. If your benefits stop, you can keep using your Help to Save account until it closes. Article continues below It takes a few moments to open the account if you're eligible and you don't have to deposit any money straight away. It can be opened and managed through or the HMRC app. You'll need some documents to open the account, including a valid UK passport, information on your credit record and your bank details. You can still withdraw money from the account if you need it at any time. However, if your highest balance doesn't increase between the first and second payment, you won't get a final bonus. The bonus will be paid into your bank account, not your Help to Save account. Economic Secretary Emma Reynolds said: 'Security for working people is at the heart of our Plan for Change. We want more people to have a bit in the kitty for a rainy day, which is why we are giving hundreds of thousands more working families on tight budgets access to this support.' ‌ Myrtle Lloyd, HMRC's Director General for Customer Services, said: 'Thousands of customers have already benefited from Help to Save and many more are now eligible to get a great return of 50 per cent on top of their savings, no matter how little you can save each month. Go online or via the HMRC app to find out more and apply today.' Help to Save was initially launched in September 2018 and was meant to end in September 2023. In April 2025, it was extended to April 2027. To be eligible for a Help to Save account, you must be receiving Universal Credit and have £1 or more in take-home pay during your last monthly assessment period. You must also be living in the UK unless you are a Crown servant or member of the British armed forces. Article continues below It's important to note that because of the Universal Credit eligibility criteria, Help to Save counts as part of the £6,000 savings limit applied to recipients. But if you steer clear of this limit, the account won't affect your benefit payments.
