Jaipur: Banswara MP Rajkumar Roat Sunday accused the BJP of orchestrating a disruption during a Bhil community rally in Jhalawar which turned chaotic after a faction protested his presence.
The rally, held in Khandia area Sunday, was organised as a pre-event to mark World Tribal Day, officially observed on Aug 9.
Roat in a post on X said that BJP and ABVP leaders arrived at the venue carrying saffron flags and launched a targeted provocation. "They didn't come to participate; they came to create chaos. BJP and ABVP leaders, wielding saffron flags, attacked us while we were raising our voices for justice for the students who died in the Jhalawar school tragedy," Roat alleged.
He further stated, "BJP leaders do not want to give justice to the students who lost their lives, but they are ready to resort to hooliganism dressed in saffron against those who demand accountability."
The disturbance began when a group of Bhil leaders, objecting to Roat's political messaging, approached the stage and raised slogans demanding that he stop promoting the BAP (Bharat Adivasi Party) ideology at the community event.

Both groups clashed with each other, following which the police swung into action and resorted to a lathicharge to disperse the crowd.
In response, Roat attempted to calm the crowd, saying, "Let's sit down and talk." However, the protesters refused to engage, prompting police intervention to remove them from the immediate vicinity of the stage.
The situation quickly escalated when police mistakenly tried to detain Arvind, a supporter of the protest group.
As officers attempted to escort him away, his associates intervened, pulling him back and engaging in a brief scuffle with the police. The confrontation intensified when members of the crowd began pelting stones at the police, forcing authorities to use mild force to disperse the protesters and restore order.
Roat later blamed BJP for instigating the protest. "Those behind this disruption are connected to the BJP organisation," he said, accusing the opposition party of exploiting internal divisions within the tribal community for political gain. He also said Rajasthan govt's recently announced Rs 10 lakh compensation for tribal families was a symbolic gesture lacking real commitment.

Gurgaon: A liquor shop named "Court Complex Liquor Vend" in Sonipat was ordered to relocate by a court that termed the nomenclature "disparaging" to the institution of justice. In a strongly worded order, the court said, "Identifying the court complex with a liquor shop is not only undignified vis-à-vis the sanctity attached to the court, commonly called the 'Temple of Justice', but it severely impairs the honour attached to the institution of judiciary." Further investigation revealed that the vend had not obtained necessary permission from local authorities — as required under the excise policy. On July 18, the court ordered the shop to be sealed. The vend owners later produced the required permissions and proposed relocating the shop to Old Sonipat Road. After the excise department issued an NOC, the court allowed the shop to remove stocks and facilitate the relocation on Aug 2. The vend has since been moved to its new location on Old Sonipat Road.

2 drivers found dead in a parked car, CO poisoning suspected
Noida: Two cab drivers were found dead inside a parked car near National Institute of Biology in Sector 62 on Monday afternoon, with police suspecting carbon monoxide poisoning as the cause of death. The bodies of Sachin Sharma (27) and Lakshmi Shankar (50) — both residents of Khoda Colony in Ghaziabad — were discovered after family members broke the car's window. The families of the two drivers — friends for almost a decade — started looking for them after they did not return home on Sunday night. "They searched for them all night without success. Calls to Sachin's mobile phone went unanswered as well. Around 2pm on Monday, locals informed the family about Sachin's car parked near a private institution," a senior police officer told TOI. Citing Malegaon blast case verdict, Yogi accuses opposition of ‘shielding terrorists'

He also announced the commencement of survey work for the Meerut–Haridwar expressway and the integration of divisional offices under one roof as key developmental initiatives and announced new development projects as well, including the reconstruction of the Inner Ring Road and a new Circuit House. He urged people to purchase indigenous products over foreign goods to stop national wealth "from flowing into anti-national activities". The CM also announced that on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, women would be able to travel for free in state transport buses from Aug 8 to 10. He credited the govt's zero-tolerance policy for ridding Meerut of riots and crime and putting it on the path of development. "Eight years ago, Meerut was burning in the flames of communal violence. Today, it is surging ahead with infrastructure like the Rapid Rail and Expressways," he said. During the event, the Chief Minister distributed loans amounting to Rs 29 crore to 675 entrepreneurs under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyam Vikas Abhiyan. Financial assistance of Rs 64 crore was also extended to 881 self-help groups. Keys to homes were handed over to beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, and farmers excelling in their field were honoured with citation certificates.
