BBC Line of Duty star icon announces massive career change
On Instagram, it was confirmed that Vicky had collaborated with Sheffield-based band Reverend and the Makers on the group's new single, Haircut.
Sharing a clip with fans online, she wrote: "I'm no Whitney [Houston], but I love music.

Line of Duty fans have long wondered if the popular BBC show would be returning for a seventh series.
Leading men Martin Compston, who plays DI Steve Arnott and Adrian Dunbar, who plays Supt Ted, shared an update with fans, according to The Sun.
When asked if the show would be returning, Martin said: 'We're always talking about possibilities and schedules and whatnot.
"Everybody's got stuff going on at the minute, so I think anything, unfortunately, would be a way off."
"You know, the day people stop asking about the show will be a sad day, so I'm delighted that people are still excited about it.
"We'd all love to work together again at some point. We still all meet up.
"I met with Jed [Mercurio, the show's creator], Adrian [Dunbar] and Vicky [McClure] in London before Christmas - we went out for dinner, to hear what everyone's up to."
He added: 'It's amazing. It's the best feeling as an actor when you feel like the whole country's in the palm of your hand with what's coming next, and there's only a couple of you in the secret of who's surviving and what's going on.
"But because we're all so close and we all want the best for the show, we wouldn't do it again just for the sake of it.
"If it was just about doing it for the sake of it, we'd have probably done another three series by now.
"We really care about the quality of it. So if we come back, it would be for the right reasons.
"It won't just be: 'Get another one done.' It'll be because Jed thinks there's a story to tell."

Netflix 'axe huge reality show after just one series as it's branded the most expensive flop in years'
Netflix have reportedly axed huge reality show Battle Camp after just one series. The celebrity challenge show made its debut on the streaming service back in April, however, it failed to make an impact with viewers and critics alike, reports The Sun. The programme was filmed in Mexico and featured a host of reality stars from shows including Too Hot to Handle, Love Is Blind and The Circle. However, it has not been given the green light for a second series due to a poor response from audiences and high costs, with the publication reporting that it's Netflix's 'most expensive flop in years.' A source said of the 10-part show: 'There were so many individuals taking part in the show, with 18 contestants in total. The fact that they all charged a fee to take part and that it was filmed on location, made it unusually costly. 'Plus the format — set in a camp which was purpose-built from scratch for the show — relied on multiple challenges, each costing big money to set up. It was an expense Netflix would have been happy to shoulder, except it didn't meet their expectations. 'The hope was that it would create the sense of there being a 'Netflix reality universe', but most people who watched it didn't think the show was out of this world.' Daily Mail have contacted Netflix for comment. Battle Camp's axe comes hot on the heels of another expensive to make celeb-based show, Celebrity Bear Hunt, also being cut after one series back in June. The programme, which was set in Costa Rica and was hosted by Holly Willoughby alongside Bear Grylls, will not return despite the star saying that he was hopeful it would. Sources close to the show which aired in February say that while the ratings did well it was expensive to make and Netflix are now planning to do more live events rather than pre-recorded shows. One told Daily Mail: 'Everyone was very proud of the show but when it came to it, it was just so expensive to make. 'You had to have a whole set in Costa Rica, loads of staff and loads of celebrities. The overheads were eyewatering.' It is understood that cheaper locations were looked at but nothing was appeared to be suitable. Netflix's official synopsis reads: 'At a storied professional wrestling organization, new owners and a roster of stars strive to make an impact beyond the ring in this documentary series.' It stars professional wrestler Al Snow, 62, and those who are in The Ohio Valley Wrestling school. The docu-series aired a total of seven episodes and unfortunately it has been confirmed that it won't be coming back.

Wynne Evans accuses BBC of 'lies and cover‐ups' - 'Strictly is fundamentally flawed'
Welsh opera singer Wynne Evans has levelled accusations at BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, claiming it to be "fundamentally flawed in its duty of care". The 53-year-old tenor, famed for his appearances in the insurance adverts, took part in the 20th anniversary series of the popular dance show alongside professional dancer Katya Jones. In May, Evans revealed he had been let go by the BBC and would no longer host on BBC Radio Wales after apologising for using "inappropriate language" during the launch of the Strictly tour. His apology followed a report by the Mail On Sunday in January that he had directed a sexual joke at one of the other professional dancers, Janette Manrara. In an Instagram post featuring a photo of the Strictly professionals, Evans wrote: "What it Feels Like to See Pictures of Strictly? I'll be the first to admit I've made mistakes. Not quite the way the Daily Mail would have you believe, but mistakes all the same." Evans accused the BBC of engaging in a series of "lies and cover‐ups in order to absolve themselves of any wrongdoing" and said this was the "hardest part" for him. He continued: "From my dealings right at the very top with (BBC director-general) Tim Davie, through BBC Wales and the HR department, one feeling has been constant: the only thing they truly care about is protecting themselves and their jobs and Ratings – people come second. "When I first stepped into the rehearsal room at Strictly, I thought it would be a magical experience. And at the start, it was. But the very first thing I was told was: 'Don't trust anyone in this room - not even me.'". "That hit me hard. I've always worn my heart on my sleeve, and while I may sometimes sail close to the line, there's never malice in what I do. What I wasn't prepared for was the way people will protect their personal and BBC brands, at any cost." Evans alleged in his statement that the HR department "twisted facts, invented files and dates, and created a version of events that simply wasn't true". "Statements were issued in my name that I hadn't even seen, let alone agreed to. My voice was taken away," he said. Evans had previously stated he never authorised the statement released by the BBC in January where he apologised for making an "inappropriate and unacceptable" comment. At the time, a BBC spokesperson said: "The apology issued on Wynne's behalf by the Strictly Come Dancing Tour PR representative on Saturday January 25 was fully approved by Wynne." Evans also revealed in his Tuesday post: "Tim Davie publicly promised that the BBC would safeguard people who took part in Strictly. I thought about that promise while sitting in a psychiatrist's office near the BBC, staring out of the window at the BBC building, fighting to save my own life. That's how close I came to the edge. "I'm not writing this as a victim, as I said I will own my mistakes. I'm writing it because the system is broken. Strictly is now fundamentally flawed in its duty of care. It's allowed to continue because of ratings, while people's wellbeing is left in tatters." In 2024, the BBC conducted a review into allegations of bullying and harassment against former Strictly dancer Giovanni Pernice, which were made by his ex-dance partner Amanda Abbington. The broadcaster upheld some, but not all, of the complaints made and implemented a range of new measures to enhance welfare. This included having a chaperone present "at all times" during training room rehearsals. Evans has had a varied career, performing in the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Of The Opera and winning Celebrity MasterChef in 2023. In May, he told the Sun that a comment he made on the Strictly Come Dancing tour was not sexual or aimed at one of the female cast members, but was actually a nickname for fellow contestant, EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick. In June, the opera singer announced his comeback to radio with The Wynne Evans Show, a live weekday internet broadcast. The Mirror has approached the BBC for comment on this story.
