Dubai: Bollywood stars, business, tech leaders to unite at India-UAE Summit 2025
An upcoming summit will spotlight efforts to deepen India's trade and strategic ties, with a strong focus on its rapidly growing partnership with the UAE.
Bringing together policymakers, business leaders, tech innovators, Bollywood celebrities, and influencers, the event aims to drive the next phase of India-UAE collaboration and to foster deeper collaboration across key sectors.
Held under the theme 'India-UAE: Partnership for Prosperity and Progress', the TV9 Summit, in association with Khaleej Times, will highlight the dynamic evolution of bilateral economic and strategic relations.
The News9 Global Summit is scheduled to take place at Taj Dubai on June 19, 2025.
This edition follows the successful debut of the Summit's international leg in Stuttgart, Germany, last year.
Union Minister for Oil & Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, will deliver the keynote address, setting the tone for discussions that span trade, innovation, and diplomacy.
In a special session on spiritual and cultural ties, Pujya Brahmavihari Swami of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha will explore the shared spiritual ethos between India and the UAE. India's Ambassador to the UAE, Shri Sunjay Sudhir, will also speak on the strategic significance of this growing bilateral partnership.
'Following the momentum generated by our first Global Summit in Germany, we are excited to bring News9 Global Summit to the UAE, a thriving nation of innovation and commerce. This platform reflects our vision to create meaningful, cross-border partnerships that drive sustainable progress. India and the UAE share a dynamic relationship, and the Summit will be a pivotal space for dialogue and collaboration," said Barun Das, MD & CEO of TV9 Network.
The event will spotlight key themes shaping India-UAE relations, including the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEC), challenges around tariffs, and emerging sectors such as start-ups, artificial intelligence (AI), and cultural collaboration.
Among the celebrity speakers are action star Suniel Shetty, renowned television producer Ektaa Kapoor, and actress Nargis Fakhri, who will share insights on India's cultural export and soft power.
Powering progress
Notably, in April, Dubai Chambers witnessed the culmination of the Dubai-India Business Forum in Mumbai, held alongside the visit of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai to India.
The forum aimed to strengthen strategic economic ties between the two markets and brought together more than 200 senior officials and investors, including a 39-member delegation of prominent business leaders from Dubai.
Meanwhile, over the past few decades, Gulf economies — particularly the UAE — have seen significant growth, emerging as key hubs for global connectivity, energy, trade, and even education, especially in relation to India.
This evolution further reflects the deepening ties between India and the UAE, with both nations entering what has been described as an 'era of new milestones".
Last November, when India's External Affairs Minister,S. Jaishankar visited the UAE, he underscored the UAE's major infrastructure investments, with the country being well positioned as a global aviation hub — one of the most accessible and connected regions worldwide.
Highlighting the region's increasing importance, Jaishankar had earlier said, 'If you are look at trade, energy, employment, mobility, in every metric this region is becoming more and more crucial and it is also acquiring a political route which I think is very important for resolving global differences. I think there is a strong case to invest in more energy. If I were to look at the foreign policies over the last few decades across the world, to me the relationship with the UAE is one of the relationships that has changed most dramatically for the better.'
Jaishankar added that India-UAE relations are entering a phase of new achievements. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's landmark visit to the UAE in 2015 — India's first in this century — along with the swift conclusion of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), signaled a new era. Bilateral trade and investment are now reaching unprecedented heights and continue to grow year after year.

Hotel101 Becomes First-Ever Filipino Company to Join Nasdaq
The hospitality tech brand, under the umbrella of DoubleDragon Corporation, was listed on June 27, 2025, with shares set to begin trading under the ticker symbol HBNB starting July 1. The milestone follows its successful business combination with JVSPAC Acquisition Corp. (JVSA), approved just days earlier. To celebrate, co-founders Edgar 'Injap' Sia II and Tony Tan Caktiong (yes, the Jollibee legend himself) led the Opening Bell ceremony at Nasdaq's New York headquarters, marking a proud moment not just for their brand — but for Filipino entrepreneurship on the global stage. "This is a historic moment for DoubleDragon... and we're just getting started," said Sia. "We aim to redefine the industry and become a leading global hospitality brand." What Is Hotel101 and Why Is It Different? Described as a 'one-room hotel concept for the world,' Hotel101 is built on a prop-tech, asset-light model that's designed for scale. Think Airbnb's flexibility meets Marriott's consistency — with a tech twist. Each Hotel101 property is composed of pre-sold, standardized units that generate revenue upfront and continue to earn through daily bookings post-construction. CEO Hannah Yulo-Luccini called it a 'revolutionary idea' and reaffirmed Hotel101's goal of hitting 1 million rooms across 100 countries — an ambitious move that now feels more tangible than ever. A Pipeline Packed With Global Potential Hotel101 already has two operating properties in the Philippines, with many more in the pipeline — and the expansion is anything but local: Spain: Hotel101-Madrid (680 rooms) opens December 2025, next to the new Formula 1 track in Valdebebas. Saudi Arabia: Plans for 10 hotels under a joint venture with Horizon Group, aligning with Vision 2030. Japan: Hotel101-Niseko (482 rooms) is already under construction in Hokkaido. United States: Land secured in Los Angeles, marking its U.S. entry. Worldwide: Active negotiations are underway in five additional markets. Why This Listing Matters Hotel101's Nasdaq debut puts it on the global map — not just as a hospitality company, but as a tech-driven real estate innovator. The model, dubbed 'condotel,' blends hotel stays with unit ownership, attracting both travelers and investors. More importantly, it signals a growing trend: Filipino-founded brands going global, not just through food chains or call centers — but through bold, tech-powered platforms. From Manila to Madrid and now Nasdaq, Hotel101's journey is just beginning — and if its ambitions are any indication, the next Filipino unicorn might already be here.
