Dubai: Bollywood stars, business, tech leaders to unite at India-UAE Summit 2025

An upcoming summit will spotlight efforts to deepen India's trade and strategic ties, with a strong focus on its rapidly growing partnership with the UAE. Bringing together policymakers, business leaders, tech innovators, Bollywood celebrities, and influencers, the event aims to drive the next phase of India-UAE collaboration and to foster deeper collaboration across key sectors. Held under the theme 'India-UAE: Partnership for Prosperity and Progress', the TV9 Summit, in association with Khaleej Times, will highlight the dynamic evolution of bilateral economic and strategic relations. The News9 Global Summit is scheduled to take place at Taj Dubai on June 19, 2025. This edition follows the successful debut of the Summit's international leg in Stuttgart, Germany, last year. Union Minister for Oil & Gas, Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, will deliver the keynote address, setting the tone for discussions that span trade, innovation, and diplomacy. In a special session on spiritual and cultural ties, Pujya Brahmavihari Swami of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha will explore the shared spiritual ethos between India and the UAE. India's Ambassador to the UAE, Shri Sunjay Sudhir, will also speak on the strategic significance of this growing bilateral partnership. 'Following the momentum generated by our first Global Summit in Germany, we are excited to bring News9 Global Summit to the UAE, a thriving nation of innovation and commerce. This platform reflects our vision to create meaningful, cross-border partnerships that drive sustainable progress. India and the UAE share a dynamic relationship, and the Summit will be a pivotal space for dialogue and collaboration," said Barun Das, MD & CEO of TV9 Network. The event will spotlight key themes shaping India-UAE relations, including the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEC), challenges around tariffs, and emerging sectors such as start-ups, artificial intelligence (AI), and cultural collaboration. Among the celebrity speakers are action star Suniel Shetty, renowned television producer Ektaa Kapoor, and actress Nargis Fakhri, who will share insights on India's cultural export and soft power. Powering progress Notably, in April, Dubai Chambers witnessed the culmination of the Dubai-India Business Forum in Mumbai, held alongside the visit of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai to India. The forum aimed to strengthen strategic economic ties between the two markets and brought together more than 200 senior officials and investors, including a 39-member delegation of prominent business leaders from Dubai. Meanwhile, over the past few decades, Gulf economies — particularly the UAE — have seen significant growth, emerging as key hubs for global connectivity, energy, trade, and even education, especially in relation to India. This evolution further reflects the deepening ties between India and the UAE, with both nations entering what has been described as an 'era of new milestones". Last November, when India's External Affairs Minister,S. Jaishankar visited the UAE, he underscored the UAE's major infrastructure investments, with the country being well positioned as a global aviation hub — one of the most accessible and connected regions worldwide. Highlighting the region's increasing importance, Jaishankar had earlier said, 'If you are look at trade, energy, employment, mobility, in every metric this region is becoming more and more crucial and it is also acquiring a political route which I think is very important for resolving global differences. I think there is a strong case to invest in more energy. If I were to look at the foreign policies over the last few decades across the world, to me the relationship with the UAE is one of the relationships that has changed most dramatically for the better.' Jaishankar added that India-UAE relations are entering a phase of new achievements. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's landmark visit to the UAE in 2015 — India's first in this century — along with the swift conclusion of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), signaled a new era. Bilateral trade and investment are now reaching unprecedented heights and continue to grow year after year.

If true, this would mark the first-ever on-screen collaboration between Deepika and the Telugu superstar Allu Arjun— a pairing that has fans excited across the country. Times Now has reported Deepika and Atlee have been talking about the project for the 'past few months and recently sealed the deal". Peepingmoon also reported that both actors, Deepika and Allu Arjun, have openly expressed a desire to collaborate, and this film marks their exciting first onscreen collaboration. Talking about the film, Allu recently told News9, 'Yes, it's my twenty-second film, and it's with Atlee garu, who directed Jawaan. We've collaborated on it. I like the concept he told me, and I like his goals; they were similar to mine on many levels, and we aim to present a fresh visual spectacle film to Indian cinema." Further, describing the project, the actor said that it is an 'international presentation film with total Indian sensibilities." On the other hand, Deepika Padukone is no longer part of Sandeep Reddy Vanga next big project, Spirit. Prabhas will be seen in the lead role. According to multiple Telugu outlets, including Gulte and Vanga reportedly removed Deepika from the project after repeated clashes over her demands, which were deemed 'unprofessional" by insiders. Deepika allegedly requested an 8-hour workday, which reportedly translated to just about 6 hours of actual shoot time. Things escalated further when the actress is said to have demanded a hefty remuneration along with a percentage of the film's profits. Homeowner shoots intruder; intruder hospitalized with life-threatening injuries

A burglary suspect was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after intruding into a garage in Aurora, Colorado, and being shot by the homeowner on Monday. According to 9 News, the intruder was shot by a homeowner after he was caught breaking into the homeowner's detached garage at roughly 4:49 a.m. on Monday in the 1200 block of Moline Street in Aurora, Colorado. Aurora Police Department officials noted that the burglary suspect was transported to the hospital following the shooting and remained in the hospital with life-threatening injuries as of Monday night. Following an interview with the unidentified homeowner on Monday morning, the Aurora Police Department released the homeowner and indicated that law enforcement officials do not expect any charges to be filed against the homeowner, according to News 9. However, in a statement obtained by Fox 31, the Aurora Police Department said, 'Detectives continue to investigate and will present their findings to the district attorney's office upon completion. This is standard practice.' READ MORE: Burglar arrested after being captured by homeowner According to News 9, the homeowner reported another break-in on Saturday and claimed that $400 worth of goods were stolen in the intrusion. The homeowner told police officials that following Saturday's incident, he purchased and installed security cameras in his garage, which notified him regarding Monday's break-in attempt. News 9 reported that the homeowner told police officials that after noticing the intrusion on the security cameras, he confronted the burglary suspect in the garage, leading to an altercation with the intruder. The homeowner told police officials that he shot the intruder during the altercation. Fox 31 reported that while Colorado residents are legally permitted to use deadly force against intruders inside their homes under the Colorado Make My Day law, Christopher Decker, a criminal defense attorney, told the outlet that the Colorado Make My Day law does not apply to Monday's shooting since the homeowner did not shoot the burglary suspect inside the home. 'You can't just shoot,' Decker told Fox 31. 'You have to act reasonably, and in order to use deadly force, you have to be in fear of serious, imminent bodily injury.' However, the criminal defense attorney noted that self-defense laws are applicable to the case.
