‘The Office' Actor Craig Robinson Claims He's ‘Officially Quitting Comedy' to Focus on His ‘True Calling': ‘I'm Following Something Bigger'
In a recent video post on Instagram, 'The Office' actor revealed that he is giving up comedy to focus on 'something bigger.' In the caption of the post, he wrote, 'Life update: I'm officially quitting comedy to focus on my true calling. Stay tuned. I'm working on something huge.'

'Hey, everybody! Just wanted you to hear it from me: I am quitting comedy,' Robinson said in the video. 'But not for nothing. It's been an amazing run, and y'all have been amazing and wonderful, but I'm following something bigger. So, thank you so much, I love you and stay tuned.'
However, it seems likely that Robinson's claims are part of a stunt of some kind. In addition to his cheery social media announcements, billboards have popped up in Los Angeles that read 'Craig Robinson Is Quitting Comedy' — a potential indicator that there's a brand deal responsible for the news to build up hype around an upcoming ad campaign.
Robinson teased what his next venture might be in a follow-up post, asking for advice about how to start a small business. He wrote in the caption, 'Turns out having a dream and building a business with your friends are two VERY different things. I can't go into detail just yet, but for real though any help would be huge.'
Robinson broke out playing warehouse foreman Darryl Philbin across 118 episodes of 'The Office.' Some of his other notable TV credits include 'The Cleveland Show,' 'American Dad,' 'Mr. Robot,' 'What We Do in the Shadows,' 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine,' 'Killing It' and 'Big Mouth.'
On the film side, Robinson has appeared in 'Hot Tub Time Machine,' 'This Is the End,' 'Sausage Party,' 'Dolemite Is My Name' and 'The Bad Guys.'
Robinson still has a few projects on the horizon before stepping away from comedy. He will soon appear in the Netflix animated adventure 'In Your Dreams' and 'The Bad Guys 2.'

What she thought would be a quiet family dinner turned into a reunion she never asked for with her ex-fiancé. 'So this happened last night and I'm still not even sure how to process it,' she begins in her post, explaining how her mom invited her over for what she believed was a simple get-together. Instead, she walked in to find the man she broke off an engagement with sitting comfortably at the table. The poster, a 29-year-old woman, says she was with 'Eric' for four years and engaged to him for one before the relationship ended five months ago. She discovered inappropriate messages he had been sending to a coworker, nothing physical, she says, but certainly a breach of trust. 'I ended things, returned the ring, blocked him on everything,' she writes. 'And honestly? I've been doing a lot better since.' While she has moved on from the relationship, it appears her mother hasn't. The woman explains that her 60-year-old mom always liked Eric, 'Like, too much,' and struggled to accept the breakup, even after she was told why it happened. 'I tried to be gentle when I told her why we broke up,' she writes. 'But she kept making excuses for him, 'men are visual creatures,' 'he didn't do anything physical,' etc.' The poster says she made it clear she didn't want to talk about Eric anymore, and for a while, it seemed her mom understood. But all that changed when she arrived at her mom's house for what was supposed to be a low-key evening. 'She invited me to a 'casual dinner' at her house,' the post continues. 'Said it would be just me, her, and my younger brother.' But when she got there, the woman says she froze in the doorway. 'Guess who's already there, sitting at the table like we're on an episode of This Is Your Life? Yep. Eric.' Her mom brushed it off like it was nothing, greeting her daughter with a chipper, 'Oh, look who stopped by! Isn't this nice?' And if that wasn't enough, Eric himself smiled and added, 'Hey stranger.' The woman says she didn't even take off her shoes. She turned around and left. Now, the situation has grown even more complicated. Her younger brother is pressuring her to smooth things over and is suggesting she should've just 'stuck it out' for the duration of the meal. But from the woman's point of view, her mom's actions crossed a line. 'Honestly felt manipulative,' she writes of the surprise dinner setup. Lee Corso to be honored at ESPYS as he begins his farewell from 'College GameDay'
The countdown to Lee Corso's final appearance on ESPN's 'College GameDay' will kick off when the longtime analyst and former coach is honored at the ESPYS on Wednesday night. 'This is a unique opportunity we have to weave him into the evening and really begin the process of sending him off with full honors,' ESPN's president of content Burke Magnus said. 'To get him there in person to acknowledge all of his contributions and what he's meant to both the company and sports, but more importantly the fans, we just think it's a fitting way to kick off his departure.' Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard and Pat McAfee will give their thoughts about Corso before a video tribute airs. Corso will then have a couple of minutes to be acknowledged by the crowd at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Corso — the lone remaining member of the show's original cast who turns 90 in August — announced earlier this year that his final show would be on the opening week of the season. ESPN last month revealed the 39th season of 'GameDay' would begin in Columbus, Ohio, before defending national champion Ohio State hosts the Texas Longhorns on Aug. 30. Corso's popular headgear segment started at Ohio State on Oct. 5, 1996, before the Buckeyes faced Penn State. Since then, he has gone 286-144 in 430 selections wearing everything from helmets and mascot heads to dressing up as the Fighting Irish leprechaun from Notre Dame, the Stanford tree and historic figures James Madison and Benjamin Franklin. He has worn 69 different school's mascot headgear. His television career withstood a stroke in 2009 that left him unable to speak for a while. Even though his appearances on the road have decreased in recent seasons, he was in Atlanta in January for the College Football Playoff national title game between Ohio State and Notre Dame. 'With the popularity and cultural phenomenon that 'GameDay' became, there's no one more responsible for that than Lee Corso.
