Police appeal for witnesses following crash in Deiniolen

The collision took place just before 4pm last Friday afternoon (June 27) in the Deiniolen area.
It involved two vehicles, a Chevrolet Matiz and a Ford Transit and occurred on the A4244 between the Ty Mawr Tearooms and Beran Garage.
The male driver and female passenger of the Chevrolet and the male driver of the Ford were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital in Bangor.
The male driver sustained serious injuries and has been transferred to Stoke Hospital.
North Wales Police are now appealing for witnesses following the crash.
A spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses and information following a road traffic collision near Deiniolen, Gwynedd on Friday afternoon (June 27th).
"Shortly before 4pm our Control Room received a report of a two-vehicle head on collision involving a Chevrolet Matiz and a Ford Transit on the A4244 between the Ty Mawr Tearooms and Beran Garage."

They added; "Both the male driver and female passenger from the Chevrolet and the male driver from the Ford Transit were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by ambulance.
The male driver of the Chevrolet sustained serious injuries and has since been transferred to hospital in Stoke. The female passenger sustained minor injuries and was later discharged from hospital. The driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries also."
PC Daniel Owen of the Roads Crime Unit said: 'The investigation to establish the cause of the collision is underway and I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have been travelling in the area around the time of the collision and who may have dash cam footage, to contact us immediately.'

Police have now confirmed that three women – aged 31, 34 and 42 – who were earlier arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000 have been charged and are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, 21 July, 2025. Police Scotland's Counter Terrorism Unit are leading the investigation and enquiries are ongoing. A police spokesperson said: 'As part of our investigation, officers are appealing for information to trace the movements of a blue Ford Transit van in the Gorgie Road area on Monday, 14 July, 2025 and prior to the incident on Tuesday, 15 July, 2025. 'They are also keen to trace the movements of a white Honda CR-Z on these dates. It was recovered from a carpark in Gorgie Road following the incident. 'Anyone who saw either vehicle in the area, or has any information, is asked to contact police. Three women charged under terror law after van driven into defence factory fence

The incident happened at the Leonardo facility in Crewe Road North on Tuesday. Police said on Sunday that three women, aged 31, 34 and 42, who had earlier been arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000 had now been charged. They were due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday. Police Scotland said their counter-terrorism unit was leading the investigation and enquiries were ongoing. The force also issued an appeal for information to trace the movements of two vehicles. One was a blue Ford Transit van which was seen around Gorgie Road on Monday and Tuesday prior to the incident. The other was a white Honda CR-Z which was found in a car park on Gorgie Road after the incident. Police have asked anyone with information to get in touch by calling 101, quoting reference number 0416 of July 15. Following the incident on Tuesday, a group called Shut Down Leonardo said the factory made laser targeting systems for Israel's F-35 fighter jets. Leonardo has said it does not supply equipment directly to Israel and that its main customer is the UK Armed Forces.
