The 2025 IndyCar Series season is past the halfway point. Alex Palou has won six races, most notably the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Kyle Kirkwood has won three.

IndyCar Series Leaders Circle standings 2025
IndyCar's Leaders Circle program pays eligible teams just over $1 million the following season in guarantees. To qualify for one of the 22 spots, the entry must be associated with one of IndyCar's 25 charters — teams are allowed to have a maximum of three. Only Prema Racing's two cars remain unchartered. The 25 chartered cars are then ranked by entrant points and, at the end of this season, the top 22 eligible entries will be paid $1.2 million or more by Penske Entertainment throughout the 2026 season.

Kyle Larson states 'I don't have any desire' to do Indy 500/Coke 600 Double again
HAMPTON, Ga. — A month after becoming just the fifth driver to compete in the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day, Kyle Larson says his mind hasn't changed about doing the Double again. 'I feel like I've made it known that I wouldn't do the Double again,' Larson said Friday at EchoPark Speedway. 'I get asked about it all the time. It's just logistically too tough.' This year's Indianapolis 500 was scheduled to start at 12:45 p.m. ET but was delayed about 45 minutes by rain. Larson crashed in the race or he might have been pulled late in the event to make it to Charlotte Motor Speedway to start the 600, which began at 6:30 p.m. ET He led 34 laps at Charlotte before crashing. Dustin Long, After exiting the infield care center, Larson said the 'window of time' between both races 'is too tight … So I don't really think it's worth it.' This year was the last year of a two-year deal between Hendrick Motorsports and Arrow McLaren. Larson admitted Friday that 'I will have FOMO from running the Indy 500. Hopefully, someday I can run that again, but I don't have any desire to do the Double again. It didn't go well the last two years.' Last year, Larson stayed in Indianapolis to compete in the 500 after a four-hour rain delay despite Hendrick Motorsports officials saying that the Coca-Cola 600 was their priority. He completed the Indy 500 and arrived well after the Coke 600 started. Larson was in his pit box ready to get into his car when rain ended that race early. NASCAR announced before this season that if a driver misses a race for anything other than injury or age restriction, the only way they can get a playoff waiver is to lose all their playoff points accumulated to that point and any playoff points they earn before the end of the regular season.

Caitlin Clark injury update: Fever star out vs. Wings, misses second straight game

Clark, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, was ruled out of the Indiana Fever's game against the Dallas Wings on Friday, June 27, due to a left groin injury. It marks Clark's second consecutive game missed with a groin injury and her seventh missed game of the season after a quad injury sidelined her for five games earlier this month. The Fever (7-8) currently sit in ninth place in the WNBA standings heading into Friday's road matchup against the Wings, which marks the second game of a back-to-back for the Fever. Indiana has gone 2-4 without Clark. Head coach Stephanie White said she learned of Clark's groin injury late Wednesday night. She said Clark remains "day-to-day," adding Clark's availability depends on "her rehab, therapy and strength training." "She's tough and a quick healer, so we'll see," White added on Thursday. The Fever are looking to bounce back from a loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday, June 27. Indiana had a 10-point lead over Los Angeles with 9:26 remaining in the contest, but the Fever had a fourth-quarter meltdown and were outscored 35-17 in the final period. The Sparks went on to win 85-75 to move to 5-11 on the season. "With the injuries particularly, you can't maintain a consistent rotation," White said following the loss to the Sparks. "When you have a such a ball dominant player like Caitlin, who makes everyones job a lot easier, out of the game, then you've got to find ways to try to position them to get some easy ones. ... We don't run quite as much with Caitlin off the floor, but we still need to." Clark suffered a quad injury during the Fever's 90-88 loss to the New York Liberty on May 24. Clark returned to the Fever's lineup on June 14 in the Fever's 102-88 win over the Liberty after missing five games, which officially ended her longest stretch of missed due to injury in her collegiate or WNBA career.
