Michigan State baseball lands commitment from Monmouth RHP transfer
JD Greeley announced that he has committed to Michigan State, planning to spend his last season of college baseball in East Lansing. A native of Blakeslee, Pennsylvania, Greeley is a 6-foot-1 right handed pitcher. He spent the first three years of his college career at Monmouth.
This past season, as a junior, was his most successful season at the college level, pitching in 14 games and striking out 29 batters. He will add to the Spartans bullpen with a fastball that can touch the mid-90s.
Greeley will provide the Spartans bullpen with a veteran presence and a new look for a unit that struggled in 2024.

Alabama football 2025 season preview, predictions: Kevin Riley
Entering year two playing for his hometown team, could the 2025 season mark a breakout campaign for Alabama Crimson Tide running back Kevin Riley? A native of the Tuscaloosa area, Riley is coming off a true freshman season a year ago in which he did not see much action for the Crimson Tide. However, Riley came to Tuscaloosa as one of the highest-rated running backs in his recruiting class, and is a player who is certainly capable of emerging this season to potentially become a key contributor of Alabama's running back room. Here is a look at everything you need to know about Alabama running back Kevin Riley entering the 2025 season. Kevin Riley player information Kevin Riley career stats Entering year two of college football, Riley is coming off a true freshman season in which he did not play much for the Crimson Tide. Last season, Riley played in only two games where he rushed for 30 yards on 10 attempts, while also hauling in two receptions for nine yards. Kevin Riley 2024 stats As mentioned previously, Riley appeared in only two games during the 2024 season, which came against Western Kentucky and Mercer. Over that span, Riley rushed for 30 yards on 10 attempts, and caught two passes for nine yards. Kevin Riley recruiting ranking According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Riley came to Alabama considered as the nation's No. 75 overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, as well as the No. 3 running back nationally. Riley, a four-star prospect who committed to Alabama in Dec. 2023 when he flipped from Miami, was also ranked the No. 7 player in the state of Alabama where he attended Tuscaloosa County High School. Kevin Riley 2025 season outlook When taking a look at Riley's potential impact this season, it is currently an unknown surrounding what the former four-star prospect's role might be. As to why, that is because Alabama's running back room returns two big names in starter Jam Miller and Richard Young, while also having added an experienced transfer in Dre Washington. However, Riley could also potentially emerge in that group as well, as the redshirt freshman could make an impact in multiple different ways from the running back position. Overall, expect Riley to improve on his season totals from a year ago, and to be a backup option at running back who could potentially emerge later in the season. Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck praises former Nebraska wide receiver Malachi Coleman
A former Nebraska wide receiver is receiving high praise from his new head coach. Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck discussed the impact of Malachi Coleman on the Golden Gophers' offense while meeting with the press at Big Ten media days. Coleman transferred to Minnesota after spending two seasons at Nebraska. In 2023, he appeared in 11 games and had eight catches for 139 yards and one touchdown. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining after he redshirted in 2024. The Lincoln native was the No. 11 overall wide receiver in the 2023 class and the top player in his class from the state of Nebraska, according to the 247Sports Rankings. He committed to the Cornhuskers on December 21, 2022. Fleck opened his comments by mentioning Coleman's athleticism as reported by Clint Cosgrove of ProPath Management. 'You talk about a dynamic playmaker that can do things in the air that I haven't seen many people do at the wide receiver position throughout my entire coaching career. You talk about playing for the Niners, coaching for the Buccaneers, coaching all the receivers we have. He's got very rare attributes." Fleck has had success against the Huskers since becoming the head coach of the Golden Gophers, boasting a 6-1 record against the Cornhuskers, including a five-game winning streak in the series. Minnesota will host Nebraska on Friday, October 17. The kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. CT.
