PSG 4 Real Madrid 0: Chelsea set for mouthwatering Club World Cup final against red-hot European champion

ANTONIO RUDIGER blew the chance of a Chelsea reunion as Real Madrid were steamrollered out of the Club World Cup.
The former Blues defender's embarrassing howler let in PSG hitman Ousmane Dembele to rifle home a goal after nine minutes.

And it was already one nil as the Spanish giants were torn to shreds in a first half blitz.
Fabian Ruiz had scored three minutes earlier from another cock up at the back as the reigning European champions went for the jugular with an early onslaught that paid off.
The Spanish midfielder made it 3-0 by half time with another clinical finish to fire PSG into Sunday's final against Chelsea.
Rudiger, 32, was at Chelsea for five years and was part of their triumphant 2021 Champions League squad.
But the German centre half and his fellow defenders were humiliated in the first 45 minutes with a series of mistakes that cost them dearly.
Defeat means Madrid end the season without a trophy of any kind. They were also humbled 3-0 by Arsenal in the Champions League last season.
New boss and former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has much rebuilding work to do even though he has just signed full back Trent Alexander-Arnold to strengthen his squad.
Former Liverpool star Alexander-Arnold was ruled out of this game with injury.

Victory is the 48th for runaway European kings PSG which is a record for them in one single season.
And they could not have wished for a better start against their illustrious Spanish opposition when the first of several blunders gave them the early lead.
A mistake by Raul Ascencio trying to tackle Dembele allowed Fabian to bury a shot from less than ten yards out.
Rudiger then let the ball slip under his foot shortly after and Dembele raced clear to blast home number two past ex-Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois.
And Fabian made sure there was no way back for 15-times European champions Madrid when he ruthlessly finished off a square ball from ex-Galactico Hakimi.
Desire Doue actually made it 4-0 early in the second half but the goal was ruled out with Dembele offside.
Chelsea face their toughest task yet taking on PSG in Sunday's all-European final.
After losing their first game at the Club World Cup, Luis Enrique's side have won every match and prior to kick off against Madrid had not conceded a goal.
Madrid brought on veteran Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, 39, for his farewell game before moving to AC Milan after 13 years in the Spanish capital.
But things only got worse for Modric & Co Goncalo Ramos came off the bench to make it 4-0.

Liverpool target willing to 'run down' deal as Rodyrgo meeting planned

Liverpool's work in the transfer window may not be over as speculation over Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Marc Guehi and Rodrygo continues as Arne Slot prepares his squad for the season Liverpool set the pace in the transfer window earlier in the summer by making the first and most extravagant moves. Florian Wirtz arrived at Anfield in a record deal and joined Bayer Leverkusen team-mate Jeremie Frimpong at the club after Trent Alexander-Arnold depart for Real Madrid. Milos Kerkez also arrived at the club from Bournemouth as the Reds' spending exceeded £200million, with Giorgi Mamardashvili to finally join from Valencia after a deal was made last summer. But the club have been frugal too with goalkeeping additions in Freddie Woodman on a free transfer and Armin Pecsi from Puskas FC for a modest fee. ‌ Exits have seen the Reds start to claim some of that money back. Jarell Quansah moved to Bayer Leverkusen for a healthy price, while Liverpool were able to cash in on Caomhin Kelleher and Nat Phillips to Brentford and West Brom respectively. ‌ And the business is not yet complete. There is still the suggestion that Arne Slot requires a forwad and a new defender, while speculation remains over the futures of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Ibrahima Konate. Mirror Football takes a look at the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the club. Diaz latest Spanish news outlet SPORT claims it appearrs Hansi Flick and Barcelona are ready to 'throw in the towel' in their bid to sign Luis Diaz. The Catalan club, led by sporting director Deco, have shown interest in Liverpool's star, who has just two years remaining on his contract. ‌ But the La Liga giants are unwilling to meet a suggested €80million (£69million) asking price. Anfield chiefs are said to be uninterested in doing a deal for the Colombian. It is claimed Diaz will not push for the move at this stage and Barcelona have made contact with the player but not made an official approach to Liverpool. Despite competition from Bayern Munich, Barca seem most likely to see if an opportunity arises later in the window. ‌ Liverpool patience If last summer's lack of transfer business showed anything, it was perhaps that Liverpool have patience to make the correct moves. And now that might be part of their thinking once again in landing a new defender. The position is among the club's priorities and there has been talk of a move for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi. Chronicle Live report the England international is willing to run down the year remaning on his contract. With it previously suggested the ex-Chelsea academy product prefers a move to Anfield over other suitors, that could play well into Liverpool hands. ‌ Rodrygo meeting Rodrygo's future could be decided next week with reports claiming a meeting is pencilled in to discuss his future. Real Madrid are open to seeing the Brazilian exit and are leaving the final decision in the player's hands. The 24-year-old is said to be uninterested in a move to Saudi side Al-Nassr and Rodrygo remains focused on staying in Europe. Arsenal have been persistently linked with a potential move, while Liverpool have historical interest. ‌ Should Luis Diaz depart Anfield, the Reds could make a move. Former player Fernando Morientes has claimed the player is suited to the Premier League. "But it's true that Rodrygo has Premier League qualities," he said. "Open games, games with space, games with limited resources where he has to navigate in short spaces, a player with tremendous quality and individual talent that can do both. I'd like to see him in the Premier League, and I'd like to see him at Liverpool to see how he performs in that league."

Callum Wilson confirms when he'll be joining next club after leaving Newcastle

Callum Wilson has returned from a punditry stint at the Club World Cup weighing up a number of offers from clubs and he will decide which option is best after a personal training camp Callum Wilson says he is weighing up a number of offers before deciding his next club. And the striker, 33, who left Newcastle last month, is jetting off for an individual training camp before making up his mind as he aims to continue his career 'for a few more years.' Wilson has been working as a pundit for DAZN at the Club World Cup while weighing up offers and said: 'I don't want to leave it too long before making a decision. 'I've continued to keep myself fit during the off season and it's now confirmed that I will be joining a new club at some point. I want to go in there hitting the ground running so I'm going into a fitness camp abroad and then I'll get up my sharpness. Then I'll make a decision and when I'm back in the UK I'll be joining the new team.' Wilson, who has been previously linked with Everton and Leeds, said he has drawn a line under his five-year spell at St James' Park and speaks glowingly of manager Eddie Howe. But officially leaving on June 30 has offered him clarity following a troubled spell with injuries as he struggled to displace top scorer Alexander Isak. 'I feel strong and I feel in a good place mentally,' he added. 'I'm content in terms of the situation now. I know I've left Newcastle, so that's kind of one less decision I need to make going forward.' During his time in the US, "dipping his toe" into punditry as he explores what to do when he hangs up his boots, Wilson found it hard to get quality training in because of the brutal heat in built-up cities- but he also went to great lengths to keep fit. "My body clock was still on UK time for a while so I was waking up and going to bed at all sorts of hours so one night I was on the rowing machined at 2:30am." Tribalism without toxicity - and other reasons why this Women's Euros is so appealing

When orange-clad Dutch fans marched to the Zurich stadium to play England this week, their rivals were encouraged to join the procession. No need for segregated paths, nor heavy policing. The Women's European Championship has a different feel from men's football tournaments. Of course, there isn't a desire for games to be completely sedate or sanitised. Wins are as fiercely fought over, but encouraging tribalism without toxicity is so much of the appeal. "I would describe the male behaviour as aggressive or violent," fan Amy Cleall reflected on men's matches. "Whereas the women's experience, there's still that banter element, of home and away and competitiveness, but it's not scary or intimidating." There is alcohol allowed in Swiss stadiums at Euro 2025, unlike at any professional games in England. And the Football Association even staged a Lionesses fan event flowing with booze throughout Wednesday. But there was no sense of anyone overdoing it as England beat the Netherlands 4-0 here on Wednesday night. No signs either of rowdiness as victorious fans mixed with their humbled rivals. Female fans do feel safer at women's football. And this part of the sport can project an image of being more inclusive without fear of abuse. A male Wales fan we encountered during a sightseeing spot at FIFA HQ in Zurich contrasted going to women's and men's football. He said: "It's over-drinking, the use of substances which shouldn't be anywhere near a football ground and then it's hooliganism which you won't get at a women's game." The England and Wales faithful were mixing in the fan zone in Zurich last night ahead of their group-stage showdown, an hour away in St Gallen on Sunday. England fan Libby Bale said: "When you're at women's football you all come together." Two male fans - both football coaches who often follow England men's matches abroad - found this Women's Euros experience refreshing. "It feels more positive isn't it," James Rose said, turning to his friend. Watching Spain beat Italy, Connor Falp added: "A little bit more friendly. You can go and have a bit more conversation with other people we spoke to a lot." And England players have sensed the positive vibe when leaving their base to go into the city. Forward Lauren Hemp said: "When walking around Zurich, it's so nice to see younger girls, younger boys, wanting to grow up to be like you. "It's incredible and makes me so proud and remembering the journey that I had once when I was a young girl."
